    Wow $1 Records!
    Vic C.

High Fidelity is a place to buy vinyl records (who sells and buys these things anymore?). I stopped by here with a friend of mine last Saturday afternoon since we were down the street at a shopping event. Her husband has a record player so she was interested in coming in to take a look. The store itself seems to be pretty big, but only a small part of the store is open to customers (the rest is used for storage). There was definitely a good amount of boxes of records to shift through (categorized by the type of music) and also some wooden boxes and record players for sale. But the best part of the store has got to be the $1 records, plenty of boxes to look through (just sit on the floor or kneel down and flip through). My friend ended up getting a Christmas album for a mere $1 (prior to tax). Although this store seems kind of rad, I can't say I would come back because I don't have a record player and most likely wouldn't get one. By the way, there is free parking on the street (read the signs for the limitations).

I have been wanting to check out this place for a really long time and yesterday I finally had a chance to go. I must say, I was incredibly impressed by this place. It's simple, not overwhelmingly crowded and the prices were reasonable. The selection although small, provided a little something for everyone. Their storage section is just a hint to what you can discover on their online shop which still has the same great prices on it. There have been more than a few occasions where I would visit a new shop and instantly knew I wouldn't be going back based on the way the employees acted in these places. Kinda of like super snobby and stuck up. High Fidelity did not give me that feeling that I wasn't welcomed or that I couldn't ask the employee a question. That means a lot to me simply because I don't want to feel uncomfortable while I'm shopping for music. The whole experience is a therapeutic one for me. Anyway, the employee who was at the shop yesterday around opening, was very nice and he took my questions about my selections seriously. He didn't throw an attitude or roll his eyes. He was super helpful. I am definitely going back and I hopefully will bring some things I'm wanting to trade/sell along with me.

11:38am. Drove from Glendale. Aren't you supposed to be open?!? #fail

Great records curated and handled by great people. A brick-and-mortar indie record store of this quality is rare!

Was so excited to have a local record shop less than 15 minutes from me when High Fidelity moved to West Adams.

I wanted to take a moment to leave a review for Reparations Club…read more I first heard about Turtle Island: Foods and Traditions of the Indigenous Peoples of North America on NPR and wanted to grab it as a birthday gift for a friend. I'm big on shopping local, so when I saw it was available here, I immediately placed a pickup order. They offered beautiful gift wrapping, with sustainable, eco-friendly packaging, which made the whole experience feel extra thoughtful and special. When I went in to pick it up, I ended up finding Go Tell It on the Mountain by James Baldwin, with an introduction by Roxane Gay, who I absolutely love, so of course I had to grab that too. The ambiance of the store is something else. It feels peaceful, energetic, and inspiring all at once. The music selection really sets the tone, and the staff are genuinely warm and welcoming. I'm a huge believer in shopping local. Every purchase is a small act of resistance against mass consumerism and extractive capitalism. If you have the option, choose local. Support Black-owned businesses. Always

I was here on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy! The space is beautiful! I love the art and the colors and the way it's all organized. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful. There were so many books to choose from but I ultimately landed on a title I've been eyeing for a few years: My Sister, The Serial Killer. Really excited to read this book and can't wait to come back!

They mostly offer new releases (trust me, with a variety of versions) and a few throwback albums (from the late 2010s / early 2020s). Their location on the other end of the hall (next to 그녀 샵 [Geu Nyeo Shop]) has an extensive selection of posters, lightsticks and a few souvenirs. Being a kpop stan on budget seems like an oxymoron, however I made it possible by focusing on posters during my first visit. Their posters are placed on shoebox like shelves and are labeled according to group/artist. Here's my tip upon selecting posters: be sure to read the labels above the barcode. It tells you the poster's name. However, if you'd like a sneak peek of what the poster looks like, you may search on Google or Choice Music's website to see an actual preview. Take your sweet time, as long as it's not as busy and/or if you're determined to get the poster(s) that you want. Some posters (for example Seventeen) have dedicated ones per unit (vocal, performance, hip hop) and some have all members in one poster. Surprisingly, all of my 3 posters were on sale that day. Depending on the cashier on duty, they may offer freebies along with your purchase. Happy Hunting with many choices at Choice Music!
