This cute little bar was just a block or so from the Hilton and had a clean nice atmosphere. The drinks were creative and food was good. Service was good early on but once it got crowded we needed to order at the bar. They have a downstairs room that can be reserved for groups.

Strolling along Jackson square during the lunch hour. Found this cozy chic bar across the street from the Transamerica Pyramid. The area had lots of gold rush history and architectural buildings. Ordered a draft beer and pesto chicken sandwich, which was quite delicious. Had a chance to catch some golf on their TV. Wished the screen was bigger. All in all, the high horse was a good place to have a quick lunch to start the year of the horse.

Came here on a Friday evening around 9:00 PM and there were plenty of people lounging at tables and at the bar. It has a very classy yet casual ambiance with its clean and brightly lit interior and effective decor. It wasn't too rowdy of a place, so you could still have a conversation if you were close to someone. We managed to get two stools at the end of the bar, and the bartenders were very friendly and happy to give recommendations. I got the Pegasus cocktail, which I liked - the aromatic rosemary helped balance the sourness of the grapefruit and the warmth of the tequila. I liked this place a lot, would definitely come back!

We needed to kill 20 minutes before our reservation next door at Kusakabe, so ran in on a Thursday night at 7:40 for a drink. We were not disappointed. Grabbed 3 quick seats at the bar, looked at the wonderful cocktail (and other spirits) menu, and chose. Fortunately there was no wait for the bartender to begin making them. Hubby had the High Horse - a bourbon drink with much more. Daughter (celebrating 25th birthday) had the Pony Espresso...vodka, coffee liquor, cold brew espresso, simple syrup, and I had the Green Unicorn...rum, Velvet Falernum (go ahead and google that...I had to), pineapple juice, lime juice and mint bitters. We ALL LOVED our drinks. Drinks, service, atmosphere were all stellar. Hope to be back soon.

Staying nearby so decided to pop in for a late dinner last night. We sat down and it took a while to get acknowledged, we were finally given menus but never got told to order at the bar so it took us seeing another party order there first before realizing. That's the reason for 4 stars. But other than that we really enjoyed the food here! The chicken pesto sandwich was very flavorful and the roasted ciabatta bread was the star. I ordered the baby kale salad with salmon and the jicama slaw and toasted pepitas really did it for me. We didn't get drinks this time but they had a good selection of craft cocktails, canned drinks, etc. Cozy aesthetic and moody lighting inside. Would come again!

Can't recommend High Horse enough! They accommodated a big party for us and we were able to have an intimate space downstairs with our own bar. It felt like a one man show sometimes, the bartender was also the server and waiter, which we saw him running around. Nonetheless the service was fast and efficient and appreciated them for settling us so quickly. The small bites were really good! The ahi tuna and taro chips, potato skins, and Brussels sprouts were a table favorite. I got a white wine, and I was surprised how filled my glass was, it was a great surprise! Overall really recommend for a quick happy hour or get together. Their service is amazing and we felt really well accommodated. Thank you to the High Horse team!

Wonderful Bar and great service. During this visit, I wasn't able to try some of the food offerings, but from what I saw, a lot of the other patrons were enjoying the food - looked appealing and appetizing. This was intended to be a brief stop before dinner. The drinks are hand crafted and made with love, and they also have some background music playing - still able to have a conversation with your friends. A great location, friendly staff, and they left an impression. Will definitely return to try another cocktail and perhaps food next time around.

I didn't get their food, so no comment on that. Drinks: good drinks. They are not stingy with alcohol. Service: great. The bar tender came twice to check on us during our one hour stay. I place: they have seats outside. The interior has references to equestrian theme. The bar is long and lots of chairs. Parking: street and it's SF so don't forget to pay! Or you can park at the structures - I believe there are three in walking distance.

This bar was our second stop after wandering around SF, a bit indecisive about where to go next. The dining room and bar were bustling with couples, but luckily, we snagged two seats at the bar. Honestly, this place feels like a top spot for Tinder (or any dating app) meetups. The friendly bartender quickly set out two glasses and poured us water, but to my surprise, he also brought over champagne glasses. As we waited, he offered us a taste of champagne--such a thoughtful, complimentary touch! I can't recall exactly what we ordered, but my man's drink had Mezcal, while mine was something sweet and fruity. We both thoroughly enjoyed our choices. After a long time without dinner, I was absolutely craving French fries. The crinkle-cut fries arrived perfectly golden and salty. We also ordered the bone marrow--rich, savory, and buttery. Spread over toast, it was pure bliss. We enjoyed our second pub crawl stop so much that we vowed to come back for a full dinner. Honestly, if couples don't end up getting laid after visiting Petit Lil's, they're definitely doing something wrong!

It was a giant fuss on an absolute cold March night and the owner just seems to make a sport out of embarrassing patrons who were trying to keep warm. Apparently North Beach is the best 'hood in the city for nightlife...right now…read more IF I was still in my 20s, I would start the night off at Monroe for Battle of the Decades where drinks start at $1 at 5 pm and increase by $1 every hour until 10 pm. We did a little weekend day drinking at Legacy and when we saw customers sporting their Frisco gear, we knew we were in the right place! Sorry but it's Frisco, The Sco, or The City, it's NEVER San Fran. For those who disagree, tell that to Mac Dre, Too $hort, and the Hells Angels. Plus, Herb Caen eventually took back his "Frisco" stance. Anyhow, after Legacy, I would move on to watch the midnight ballerinas on Broadway and end the night smashing faces with a Golden Boy!
