Glad we made a reservation, as I heard the host tell another couple it would be a one hour wait. We were offered our choice of seating and opted for the heated patio which was covered and enclosed and in close proximity to the live music happening outside the venue. The band was talented and entertaining, performing funk and soul, including songs like Ain't No Sunshine (when she's gone) and Lovely Day. We got the arugula salad, crispy paella balls, risotto funghi porchini, albondigas (beef & pork meatballs) which came with toasted baguette slices, and two glasses of sangria (red and white). Really feels like a hit or miss on the food. I have been to Red Window before, at the recommendation of friends, and was surprised to be disappointed by the all the food which came to my table when I dined here before. However, this time I went again with a friend who assured me the food is fantastic and I was a little bit skeptical but it turned out a bit better this time. We ordered a medley of food: the patatas bravas, the flatbread, the albodigas, the crispy paella balls and the crispy cauliflower. I was especially excited for the patatas bravas as I had tasted them before. They were the highlight of my previous time I had dined here. This time was no exception. Exceptionally crispy flaky and fantastic texture with the multiple layers. The crispy paella balls were also excellent, Very flavorful and what a nice slight crunch to their exterior. Unfortunately I was half disappointed by the rest of the food we ordered The flatbread was just alright, and I regretted we didn't do at least one of the add-ons for it as that likely would have improved it a lot. The albondigas were a lot to get through and I'm glad we were sharing the dish. They went well when paired with the other dishes as it was very one-note with getting through each of the meatballs. The crispy cauliflower had good flavor, but surprisingly were far more mushy than crispy. Red Window has a really nice spot on Columbus, great vibe and friendly staff each time I've visited. They have both interior and heated parklet /outdoor seating. However, the food really feels like there's a only a few standouts on the menu and the rest aren't really bringing more to the table. I was with my family and I politely greeted her with a hello and asked what the wait time was like,she then turned her head towards me, and was obviously upset because she was having a conversation with which whom appeared to be one of her friends and she said let me finish my conversation,I'll be right with you. The drinks took forever to get to us even though it wasn't super busy. We had two different cucumber cocktails. One was like a pisco sour and the other was a tequila drink. Both were yummy. kind of a let down. i live nearby and i walk by the all the time and so i was excited to try the brunch for the first time since it always looks pretty full inside. i made a reservation for my party at 11:15 on a sunday, plenty of outdoor seating and decent openings inside. overall, i think i was pretty unhappy with my dish selection and some of the other dishes were a let down. would recommend: butter seared banana bread - warm but crunchy outside and butter melts on it creme anglaise french toast - if you like hella sweet for brunch then this is your dish. the caramel sauce on top was sickeningly sweet. patatas bravas - honestly hella good, potato crunchy outside but there are a ton of layers. very well done. would not recommend: pork hash - potatoes bland, pork way too much fat, very oily, no like bread/rice to eat with so it's very heavy. i was really disappointed by this and it honestly was really under seasoned, and since it wasn't flavorful at all i didn't enjoy eating this. They had a good mocktail selection, and I started with the Coconut Mojito. It came in a cute tiki glass and was super tasty - both sweet and refreshing. For food, we shared the Patatas Bravas, Gambas, and Flatbread. The Patatas Bravas came in these dainty little cubes, and were very satisfying to look at. They also tasted good, but weren't the best Patatas Bravas of my life. I really liked the Flatbread with ricotta, parmesan, arugula, dried fig, and rosemary honey - such a good flavor combination. The Gambas were also tasty, especially the creamy garlic sauce they came in. I ended up getting the Mango Lassi Remix as my second drink. I had asked if it was sweet and our server said "not really", but that they could make it even less sweet. Unfortunately, it was so sweet and fruity, I ended up not drinking it.
