Shepherds pie!

Incredible bar comfort food! Tini-trio came with the best French Fries this side of the Mississippi!

Such a great pub in downtown sf! I love the vibes and the staff here. So welcoming and sweet!!! Also the food here are really really good. I especially enjoy my fish and chips and the tartar sauce that's the shepherds pie is also a great dish. But when you come here, you have to come for the drinks and their special cocktails!!!

What a GEM!!!! Stopped in on Sunday and was delighted in finding exactly what I was looking for, great food, cold beer and NFL on the TV. They unfortunately didn't have Sunday Ticket but a strong WiFi connection does the trick. The Guinness was poured perfectly and the fish tacos were a delight. The sauce on top was incredible. We also tried their burger and it was excellent as well. Our bartender was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of. But the best part was the prices!!! Two entrees and two Guinness for around $15 per person in the heart of SF is a spot that should be visited if you're a local or just visiting.

One of the fish tacos, the shepherds pie, and my old fashioned drink!

Went there twice in one night while visiting San Fran. Once to have a quick dinner and drink, and the second to have a drink and midnight snack! Dinner was reallly good. I had the Shepherds pie and tried a fish taco. Both were delicious. I really enjoyed the old fashioned drink that I got as well! Better than the speakeasy we went to right afterwards. Much better! Service was awesome and we returned again later that night for another drink and snacks! The owner was also super nice and treated us to a round of shots right before closing! Thanks for your hospitality! Can't wait to return on our next visit back to SF.

I liked the ambience of this place but pretty medicore overall. To be fair we did stop in late but still. Drink prices were out of control expensive they had a specials menu with seventeen dollar drinks. They had better be gallon sized for that price. I ordered sweet potato fries and asked for honey and clarified they had it like 4x and the waiter said they did 4x. Brings them out with ketchup and no honey available. To be fair manager or owner idk took them off the bill. My buddy got the pub burger very average greasy and nothing special. Oh they messed up his order too. He doesn't like tomatoes and sure enough there they were in the burger. Ugh. I'd skip it

The drinks here were delicious. Service was on the interesting side. Our orders were taken quickly. The food came out with the sauces and salad dressings on the wrong plates, so we had to switch to get the curry sauce with the curry fries and the salad dressing with the salad. The food was good but messy. It was cold outside, so the warmth inside felt good for a while, but then we had to take layers off to be comfortable. The bathroom had an odd combination of what was automated and what was manual. It took a long time to get our checks, but it would be a good place to take tourists if you aren't in a hurry.

This place is so cute, they really deck it out for the holidays. The absolutely nicest people work here. The lady who served us was accommodating and running for our every need and was just so very sweet. The food was delicious, it was pub fare done right. It's British leaning deliciousness. I had the chicken sandwich and it was one of the best I've had in SF. One friend had a salad and it was huge and looked incredible. Another had shepherds pie, which had a really nice addition of cheese on top. But the drinks were the show stopper. Presentation, taste, all amazing! The presentation on all of them was so well thought out. They put so much care to think of every detail. Really all around was just such a delightful experience. This place is my new favorite pub!

Sauted Broccolini

Solid 3.5 stars - came here for restaurant week and decided to try it out the prix fixe menu. I don't normally dine in the area since I try to steer clear from tourist traps - Although, I must say I was pleasantly pleased. Ambiance - had that family, Buca di Beppo vibe. So I wouldn't recommend this place for a date, but a great switch up for group, business trip or fast casual dinner. By tavern, then ya - it's more of a group setting kinda deal. The service was pretty standard, but thought it was a little weird that the server came to check on the table multiple times and didn't get my drink order lol. It's fine, I probably shouldn't drink anyway. Since there was 4 of us we decided so try everything on the prix fixe: Starter - broccolini and chicken bites. Bar food basically, but that's what we came for. I love me some broccolini, so that's always an ace. Chicken bites were meh - par for the course. Entree - burger medium rare please. I was overly pleased. You can tell that the meat was fresh since it didn't have the freezer taste. It was actually a great burger - way better than your counter service burger joints (the shaking of the shacks or duper of the super) Dessert - funny enough we all got the bread pudding. OMG - best bread pudding I've ever had. It literally melts in your mouth. Not sure what it is, probably the way the raisins were prepped? Would I come here again? Sure, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

This is an excellent late night spot under fairly new management. Nan and her partner are super friendly , on the floor and helping their team deliver an excellent experience. It's lively late at night with . We had the wings, calamari and fish and chips and Guinness and tequila. Great food, better drinks. A true Union sq sf

Tavern's Classic Mac and Cheese

Went for Daily Happy Hour Food - 4/5. Mac and cheese was creamy, seasoned well, and had plenty of richness from the variety of cheeses. Pasta itself had a decent bite and the bread crumbs added a crispy texture. Slider's had tender beef with a bold flavor. It was a nice medium with good sear. The bun was soft and the sriracha mayo gave it a spicy zing. Service - 4/5. Quick and attentive service. Value - 4/5. They have a limited food variety for their happy hour, but it is offered daily and has a reasonable price of $8 per item. The portions and quality of the food was fitting. Nice spot for happy hour in the middle of the city. Parking - Street/Municipal Garage (Metered)

Nice neighborhood Irish pub in Union Square area of San Fransisco decorated festively for Christmas. Sat at the bar and had friendly attentive service. Fair prices for food & beverages. Attractive interior with different intimate seating options. Nice ambiance with pleasant lighting.. Highly reccomend

Luckily, my friend had already been to Iron Horse Cocktails, and suggested we go there instead. Walking down the alleyway it is located in was a nice getaway from the otherwise hectic union square atmosphere. Walking in was also a neat experience that felt like we were stepping out of the city into a tiny pub. We also really liked the atmosphere inside and the cozy upper floor that had an interesting mix of old paintings and woodwork, creating an eclectic feel. I got the We've Got the Beet cocktail with mezcal, beet reduction, ginger, fresh citrus, thyme and firewater bitters. I love mezcal's smoky flavors and was drawn to the combination of ginger, citrus and mezcal flavors in the drink. The cocktail was very good and had a nice smokiness from the mezcal, along with the kick from the ginger and zest from the citrus, creating a refreshing and tasty drink. My friend got the About Thyme, with gin, blackberry liquor, black pepper thyme syrup and fresh citrus. We both really liked his drink as well, which had an interesting kick from the black pepper thyme syrup that offset the gin and blackberry liquor nicely. While we only had time to grab a drink each, we were both very happy with the drinks and would definitely come back the next time we're in the area.

Although the service was a little slow at first because of how busy it was, once we were helped, the experience was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. The food is definitely on the pricier side, but it's well worth it. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the martinis were especially impressive. If you're looking for a relaxing spot with breathtaking views of the San Francisco skyline, The View Lounge is a great choice. Friendly without being over the top, and he even gave us bar recommendations all over SF, which was a nice bonus. We ordered the Mi Sharona and the El Mariachi. The Mi Sharona leaned a little sweeter than I usually go for but it was still really good. The El Mariachi, though, was the winner: just the right amount of spice, subtle and balanced, not overpowering the drink at all. Love this spot.

Had lunch here with some colleagues (I've been here before but it's been 10+ years). In general, the group found the ordering method a bit wonky. It falls for me into the category of one of those spots who did some things for Covid and has continued those practices because they seemed to work. You go into a line and order entrees at the first station; but it's not clear which ones and some are precooked and some aren't. But you don't order beverages or sides there you do that at the register. Seating is self service and you grab your own napkins and silverware at the bar. Fine; but if you don't know no one is going to tell you even if you ask. Food - pretty decent food. I got the shrimp plate. Rice and beans standard - and lots of them. Shrimp not too many, but I was not super hungry. Salad, lots of it but wilted hot and weird. I could have gone without or preferred some escabeche. Tortillas; corn, store bought IMO. Ceviche; not bad not great. Guacamole same. All in all I ate about 1/5 of my plate and had plenty so if you want to fill up and have a bit appetite this is for you:

He also told me I was right on time for the saber champagne presentation -more on that in a sec. For drinks, I ordered the Hibiscus Spice and the Paradise cocktail. Both were super fruity and delicious! I had a great time sipping on this while chatting it up with a few folks at the bar. To nibble, I can never say no to ahi tuna tartare and this one was great! The most interesting little wafers, ahi tuna with some avocado cream and a little spicy sauce. I absolutely devoured these! So good! Now for the best part, the champagne presentation! A gentleman gave a little info session on on how this process is done and at the end he took a giant to a bottle of champagne to open it. Really Cool! What made this even better was that everyone at the bar got to snag a complimentary glass. What a treat! Super cute little hour of so sitting at the bar at the St. Regis.
