The tables are sticky and there's nothing you can do about it. They do offer a fair amount of cocktails for a spot that looks like it's more about shots and beers. Bu hey, don't judge a book by its cover. I would have given this spot 5 stars if not for the standard 20% gratuity and 6% health tax. Plus sales tax on the health tax! What a GEM!!!! Stopped in on Sunday and was delighted in finding exactly what I was looking for, great food, cold beer and NFL on the TV. They unfortunately didn't have Sunday Ticket but a strong WiFi connection does the trick. The Guinness was poured perfectly and the fish tacos were a delight. The sauce on top was incredible. We also tried their burger and it was excellent as well. Our bartender was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of. But the best part was the prices!!! Went there twice in one night while visiting San Fran. Once to have a quick dinner and drink, and the second to have a drink and midnight snack! Dinner was reallly good. I had the Shepherds pie and tried a fish taco. Both were delicious. I really enjoyed the old fashioned drink that I got as well! Better than the speakeasy we went to right afterwards. Much better! The jasmine tea really comes through and gives it a smooth, floral quality with a subtle sweet fortune cookie note at the end. The Hyde & Seek - A really fun drink to experience. Try it before mixing -- the bottom has sweet whiskey and citrus notes, while the top is a whipped mozzarella cream cheese foam. Once mixed together, it becomes smooth and tropical, almost like a Mai Tai with an egg white foam on top. Nob Hill Society - This one was a surprise in the best way. It leans savory with a nice umami flavor, but still has just enough sweetness to balance it out. The rice cracker pairing adds a great salty contrast. Japanese Botanical Garden - Spirit-forward but still very crisp and refreshing. You get lychee and elderflower on the finish, and the elderflower aroma is beautiful. It's so clear and clean it almost drinks like water (dangerously easy). Overall, the cocktails are creative, balanced, and clearly made with a lot of care. You feel like you're being transported to another time when you come into Last Drop Tavern. It's all brick and cozy inside, but there are plenty of TVs to watch the game. The staff and bartenders are so friendly, and the cocktails are more complex than a regular dive bar. I definitely recommend their Halloween drink specials, particularly the Boo-zy Pumpkin. They have $1 wings on Mondays and $1 tacos on Tuesdays. The food is good too! The tacos are hearty and padron peppers are properly salted. I will definitely be coming back to watch a game! read more

The food came out with the sauces and salad dressings on the wrong plates, so we had to switch to get the curry sauce with the curry fries and the salad dressing with the salad. Bar food basically, but that's what we came for. I love me some broccolini, so that's always an ace. Chicken bites were meh - par for the course. Entree - burger medium rare please. I was overly pleased. You can tell that the meat was fresh since it didn't have the freezer taste. It was actually a great burger - way better than your counter service burger joints (the shaking of the shacks or duper of the super) Dessert - funny enough we all got the bread pudding. I only wish we would have eaten here...My wife and I stayed a block away from the Last Drop and closed out our days four out of the five nights at the Last Drop. Wait staff was friendly, prices were reasonable, and there was a relaxed atmosphere with patrons of all ages present. My wife and I saw many a meal come out and just wish we were hungry enough one of those nights to grab something. This is a true gem in the Union Square vicinity and I would return in a second! This place is a hidden gem. I've been in San Francisco 18 years and this is my first visit! I only had a quick drink so this review will be short. The staff is super nice, friendly, and beautiful! They make really solid cocktails, and seem quite open to making something just to your liking. A lot of guests were coming in for an early meal and everyone was very accommodating. The only issue I noticed (and I am seeing this in a lot of restaurants now ) was that there was a distinct smell of cleaning product (that they use for the floors or elsewhere). I have a bit of a super nose, but the odor distracted from the overall experience, especially near the front. Hopefully they can switch it to something more neutral or unscented. It's a bit of an off- angle from street level to the entrance, and a few steps down to negotiate, but once inside and oriented, and seeing in the dim light, I understand the attraction of the place. Nice seasonal decor, attentive and friendly service makes a good impression. Enough floor seating area to keep everyone coming in feel ing enough personal space, plus a generous sized bar with seats to "make a spot for someone" during Happy Hour. My wife had a strawberry margarita and gave it two thumbs up, followed by a Paloma with tequila. Again, it was a winner. I was interested in trying California beer brewing examples. You'll find many to try, on tap and in cans. It's not a premium venue but it doesn't present itself as such. Our plans to day explore San Francisco were somewhat derailed due to the tremendous amount of rain on New Years Eve. We were about to board the cable car to head to Fisherman's Wharf but due to weather the cable car shut down and this lil cozy looking bar was right next to us on Powell Street!
