BBQ Chicken and Chicken Katsu and Large Coconut Shrimp
    Adam L.

Went in with a friend and I will say this place serves up some good Hawaiian food! I got a mix of Katsu and bbq chicken I did think the bbq chicken could have been grilled and charred just my opinion though seems like they cook the chicken then slap some sauce on there it was still good though. Everything was great.

What a fun and delicious find! First time at this restaurant. There is a wide range of choices on the menu. Hawaiian bbq of chicken, chicken katsu , beef , short ribs or combo. I had the combo and I really liked the katsu. It's thin, crispy and served with a great dipping sauce. Lots of rice and steamed cabbage. We also ordered a sushi roll and that was also very good. The poke bowl was delicious. The tuna was fresh and the dish was quite pretty as well. Really good flavor and assortment of veg and rice. As a fun treat we ordered Thai bubble milk tea. Several flavors and variations of teas to choose from. Relaxed, casual atmosphere. 4- 6 tables lined up in the room . Comfortable and really friendly, helpful staff who made it a fun experience.

BBQ Salmon after we added the bbq. It comes plain.

After an awesome day at the lake, we checked out the local menus and thought this one sounded pretty interesting. We chose the salmon bbq plate and the coconut shrimp plate. The sides included broccoli, macaroni salad, rice, and cabbage. The difference between the medium and large is the amount of rice and the amount of sauce. So we chose the medium. The salmon plate came with plain salmon with bbq as a side. This is interesting because the menu says "BBQ salmon", but it is not bbq salmon at all. The coconut shrimp had a very strong coconut flavor, however was not crispy at all. Very flimsy and greasy. Not quite sure what the side of mayo sauce was, however it did not complement the shrimp. It would have been better to have the teriyaki bbq instead. There were 3 spoonfuls of rice per plate, which were a bit overcooked. The broccoli and cabbage was just that. A side of steamed broccoli and cabbage, nothing to comment on. The front staff was not knowledgeable about the ingredients in the dishes, so we had no idea what we were eating other than the mild descriptions on the menu. Wouldn't go again. I've had amazing Hawaiian food, and this just isn't it.

This was a great little hole in the wall place to find! It doesn't look like much from the outside honestly. And not one of those places I would usually venture into without a recommendation. But a friend who was with me had had some Hawaiian bbq from somewhere else before and said it was good so we thought we would try this place. We were pleasantly surprised! The flavor of all their food was really good! The coconut shrimp was really good along with the ribs and chicken. The service was kind and quick. There weren't any others in there at the time though. It isn't huge inside but well worth stopping in.

Man I'm really sad for the three star's. This visit was not a great as the first couple times and yes pre pandemic but no excuse please. My salmon poke bowl looked and tasted sad. Bland and very little avocado. Maybe new cooks new owners I don't know but I'm not happy. My brother ordered the chicken fried rice and he was happy and felt a lot of food. .

Great food, reasonable prices. I love the bbq chicken. What lacks in atmosphere it more than makes up for with good food and great portions.

BBQ is one of those things, you like what you like so if a place has their own style it might not mesh with your taste buds. I had the pork plate with baked beans and steak fries (comes with toast too). They put the bbq sauce on in the kitchen, no sauces on the tables - so you get what you get. This is probably my biggest gripe. I like variety with sauces and especially sweet/hot sauces. This was a run of the mill regular BBQ sauce. But the pork was nicely smoked and you get a decent portion. Maybe it was on the menu and I missed it, but I wished it was shredded and not sliced. The steak fries were different. Basically a potato quartered with a bit of seasoning and deep fried. Totally not what I expected, but they were good (I would have loved the seasoning kicked up a bit). The beans were too oniony for me - and that is saying something because I like onions (I think they use green onions and it was a texture thing too). Toast was great. It was an a-OK meal. I didn't NOT like anything, but I didn't love anything either. It was a pleasant friendly meal. Go try it and see if you like it! BBQ tastes vary.

I absolutely loved the scotch eggs! I skipped the Reuben bombs since I'm not a big Swiss cheese fan, but everyone else at the table really enjoyed them. I ordered the Jameson meatloaf with mashed potatoes and veggies, and it was amazing -- full of flavor and cooked perfectly. My husband and son both got the fish and chips and couldn't stop talking about how good they were. My daughter loved the kids hamburger, especially the potato chips/fries that came with it. The atmosphere was awesome, the service was top notch, and my husband and I both enjoyed a refreshing beer with lunch. We had such a hard time deciding what to order because so many things on the menu looked great, so we'll definitely be back to try more items. Highly recommend!

I don't think there was anything wrong with the cook of the food, but the seasonings were just way off base to me. The Corned Beef was slathered with a Mustard Crème sauce that should have been served on the side. Some may like it, others will hate it. I didn't care for it. Cabbage seemed to be braised in a heavy Cayenne Pepper broth. It was inedible. The Champs were so bland that you had to shake the hell put of the Salt and Pepper. The Corned Beef without the Mustard sauce was actually pretty good, but so much was slathered with the mustard sauce that it just isn't worth ordering. Bottom line, here is how it breaks down: Service: 5/5. The bartender tonight was exceptional! Food: 3/5 at best due to the second entree ordered (fish & chips) being REALLY GOOD. Overall: 4-5*. The Fish & Chips saved this entire meal. There are a number of things to order from the menu at the bar. Obviously I would stay away from the CB, but I would definitely recommend the fish and chips! When I come back to Pueblo, I would definitely consider coming back here.

Pros: Walking in the hostess was helping another couple but did acknowledge us. She went to sit the couple and another staff apologized and said that she will be right with us. We were sat outside and immediately were given water. Our waiter, who I can't remember his name, talked to us and took our drink order. My husband ordered a beer and me an iced tea. He gave us a few minutes before coming back to take our order. We started with the green chili fries and when they came out they were very good. I do wish there was a little bit of spice to it, but not a con. I even ordered a cup of green chili with my shrimp tacos. And my husband ordered the slopper. I loved the shrimp tacos, that I got the lettuce instead of a tortilla. I would highly order and recommend. Husband loved the slipper. He said if you don't see the fries or bun, assume your eating it all. Our waiter is very knowledgeable and was quick with his recommendations. He answered a burger question when asked and took his time with us. We did not feel rushed. My husband also ordered a beer flight and found some he enjoyed. All the staff worked together and matched our personality. Well, my husband's personality. We ended up ordering 3 cups if green chili with their chips. The salsa had a nice kick, mild kick, because they added green chilis to it. It tasted home made. When we had a minor issue with the bill, our waiter took charge and without hesitation took to fix it. We of course had to order dessert. Our waiter came back within minutes to inform some of the desserts were sold out but offered a replacement. I got the peach pie and my husband got the chocolate cake. The peach pie was a perfect mini size Cons: My husband was surprised the manager wasn't walking around ensuring everything ran smoothly. I honestly don't see it as a con. Also, the parking lot is small and when it gets busy I can see walking from another block over. There are 3 spots for the hotel and 4 spots that are a 2 hour limit. Recommended? Absolutely yes. Great food and excellent staff. Everyone here is friendly and seems excited to help the customers. We will definitely be back. And maybe stay at the hotel and walk over to enjoy a hamburger or more shrimp tacos with a cup of green chili

Since we hadn't been here in five years, I mentioned to our waiter how much I was craving a bowl, and he went out of his way to make it happen. That level of service alone made the visit memorable. The smoky notes were present but not overpowering, and the nixta slate liqueurs, or heat and bitters brought everything together beautifully. Great service, great drinks, and a team that's willing to go the extra mile. Definitely worth the stop.
