I have been buying parts for my 914 at HPH for over 18 years. They stock both new and used parts, almost everything I have ever needed for service or repair. When I first bought my 914 1.8L "project car", they provided me with great advice and everything necessary for me to re-build my engine. When I asked them about the cost of going through my transmission while the car was apart, Rich told me that they would open my tranny and then call me to come down and see for myself what was recommended to be replaced. I ended up having them replace a few synchro-rings, gaskets, seals and a bearing or two. I have put over 90,000 daily driver miles on my rebuilt engine and tranny (210,000 miles on the chassis). It's still running strong. They have always provided me with great trouble-shooting advice when I did have a problem or needed service recommendations. The prices are competitive with any other outfit, but the knowledge and advice they have provided has saved me a lot of time and money. I went by HPH again today for a part for my 914. Rich was there and had the part I needed as always. He asked me if I had shopped around on line for the part and what I saw it going for, he was happy to match the online price and of course saved me shipping and a wait for it PLUS the chance of it not being the correct part if received in the mail. This is my third 914, Rich has helped me a lot over the years. I have been able to win many PCA racing championships with his help and knowledge. He is always willing to explain how to install parts or repair my car if it is something I want to take on myself or of course have the shop do it. Of all the work that has been done at HPH on my cars over the years I honestly have not had any problems with workmanship. I found HPH through an ad posted on Craigslist for some hard to find Porsche parts I needed. I emailed with my questions and received a response answering my questions and inviting me to come and check out the parts. I asked to set up an appointment for a Saturday morning and they were quick to accommodate me. I drove for over 2 hours in the Rain to get there, and they were waiting when I arrived, and even had extra help on hand to pull the parts if needed. Their inventory of new and used Porsche parts is amazing. Practically every part is stored indoors and even though every shelf on the 3 floors is full and there are parts grouped on much of the floor, they know where to find just what you need. The parts I wanted were just as advertised. HPH helped me load the parts and I left with exactly what I came for at a fair price. I always buy from Rich at High Performance House and here is why. I am a avid autocross guy and do most of the work on my car myself. But, I need parts and good advise from someone who knows this stuff. I start on a CV upgrade. Pulling things apart found trashed bearings so I call Rich at High Performance House and he answers the phone. "Sure, I have those for you Mike. I recently purchased a 1976 914 2.0L. I called Rich and ordered a rebuilt circuit board. It was here in just a few days. Unfortunately that was not what was causing the car to not start. I then took the car to a local shop and got bent over pretty badly. $3,000.00 badly. Long story short Rich was kind enough to take my many calls during this experience and to finally help prove these guys were taking advantage of me. I recently purchased a new gas pedal and a master brake cylinder from Rich. He is a solid dude! I have read the reviews here and all I can say is this guy does not b.s. people or have time for games. I own a 1975 Porsche 911S, and have owned it for 10 years. For the first year and a half I tried a few different shops recommended on the Peninsula, and then found High Performance House. The first day I brought my car in, Rich found a less expensive solution to a problem another shop wanted to fix, and since that time my car has been in High Performance House for regular maintenance and other projects about every 18 months. I love how Rich builds in a long term maintenance plan, and we pick some projects reactively (it's broken now!) and some other ones we get ahead of.
