I bought new batteries for my car keys and had an employee there put them in, but the keys still didn't work. I brought the keys to a locksmith, and he said the batteries were not functional, put new ones in the keys and they worked. Found my self with a dead battery outside after making a purchase at their store a few days before. Thought I was lucky to be where I was but the guy said they couldn't help me. Only suggested that there are items I could buy to help myself. Didn't even say anything like, "hey, If you would like to buy the jumper cables I could offer to jump your car, I just dont have any myself and we cant just open up a package". More like, "we don't have anything you can use without buying it and good luck figuring it out after". On their website they offer to check, recycle and charge your battery. There was no one else in the store. The phone wasn't ringing. Wasn't doing anything at all when I walked in. If someone walked in to my work, not anything to do with cars, and I could offer help or at least ask someone else there if they could, I totally have and would. Chivalry is dead. :( read more

Extremely rude and lazy employee. Went to buy wiper blades and employee refused to give me a part number to make it easier for me to find it. Just looked up the sizes and pointed me to the wipers telling me they're all the same, all I needed was the length of wiper and he said "I don't know what to tell you" when I insisted he give me a bosch part number. Went to other employee Jose who actually did his job and helped me. Jose was very nice and helpful. I told Jose what happened and the other useless employee yelled from across the counter "I helped you and gave you the info you needed, if you don't like it shop somewhere else" and there were several other customers listening to this. I said I was going to complain to the manager and he said "go ahead, I'll call him myself" Basically too lazy to do his job and tells me to shop elsewhere when I complained. I like oreilly bc they'll run a diagnostic for a check engine light for free. Otherwise the people who work there are cool, but the range of knowledge is pretty large. 10/22/22 around 2:20p or so, I was referred to this branch from another O Reilly store near BMW on Grant St/ElCamino because a brake lite for my Navigator I asked for to buy was out of stock. Andrew helped me quick and easy. The only thing To watch out for is a one way parking lot and traffic lights and autos are not syncing well. I purchased a new battery for my car here and was told by the associate that not only could they not install it, but I wouldn't be able to either, as my car had special security restrictions that would require a specialist to install it. Based on that information, I shelled out another $50 to have a professional install, and was then told there was no security restriction in place and I could have easily installed it myself. When I called O'Reilly's about this, I was told cars after 2015 have this security feature. My car is a 2012 and they had known that, and when they ran my car again through their database they did not see any red flags about installation for my vehicle. So I essentially wasted $50 based on faulty information from their associate. No offer to make it right with the customer. Skip these guys. read more

I didn't drive my Subaru for about 10 days and it appeared my battery had died. I called O'Reilly ahead of time and asked on Saturday afternoon if they had a battery for my car and if they could install it. They said they had my battery and could install it. The next the day, I went to O'Reilly. At O'Reilly's, I was told they had my battery ($249), but that they couldn't install it per their computer system. I wasn't planning or prepared on doing the removal and installation myself, so I asked if they could test the battery. They tested the battery and determined the battery wasn't dead, but just need a charge. They said they could charge my battery, however, I had to remove the battery myself. While I appreciated this free service to test my battery, I wish their information was correct about being able to install a new battery when I called. read more

Very helpful staff at this location. Needed wiper blades for my car with a recent storm. Haven't changed them in a while and was not sure of what I needed. The staff was able to determine which wiper blades were the best for my car and they weren't even the most expensive brand! I personally take care of my small fleet of cars by doing my own preventative maintenance on all of them to make sure they are safe and reliable and can pass the California Emissions on a regular basis. I had been using the O'Reilly Auto Parks in Sunnyvale on El Camino but since I don't go that way on a regular basis and am trying to keep my carbon footprint a bit smaller I thought I would try the Mountain View Store. I was pleasantly surprised by the great service I received from both Assistant Managers Mario and Zack. Mario found all the WIX oil and air filters but they did not stock the crush oil drain gasket. Mario found one in San Jose and told me it would arrive after 4:00 P.M. truck delivery. I made my purchases and did some local shopping and returned right after 4:00 P.M. and saw my gasket attached to an order form while waiting in line. One day stop shopping at it's best! Mario had gone for the day and Zack took wonderful care of making sure I got the O'Reilly discount card credit for my purchases. Great service from both Mario and Zack! My car battery was having issues and I went to two other places before here to try to figure out what's wrong and the employees here were so helpful! They offered to come out and did a battery test right away. The next day, we needed a jumpstart so looked up reviews and if it had not been for the employees here, we woulda got one we didn't need. This morning this light came on my dashboard: "Check Oil At Next Fueling" so I figure that's code for"You need oil." I stopped immediately at this O'Reillys and waited to buy a bottle of oil. It's a lot more complicated....of course... Steven offered to come out to the car and check the oil level. I didn't even know where the oil stick came from! He opened the hood and checked the oil. He was so cheerful and all I could think about was standing out in the hot sun. Steven is amazing!!! Tiny little parts store, but had what we needed on our recent stop here. We now drive one badass vehicle that needs babying and to be lovingly washed by us, no more sloppy car wash jobs. So we needed all the accutrements to be able to wash our new vehicle. We found a nice variety of pretty much everything you would need to clean the car, sponges, chamois, cleaning liquid, wax, polish, leather cleaners....everything. Did the trick for us. Used to be my go-to place for oil, filters, batteries, and such. However after my encounter with one of the laziest people I've ever met, I'm sticking to the O'Reillys down on grant. All I wanted was an exhaust gasket to finish my exhaust install. I even came in with the gasket that I was replacing to avoid grabbing the wrong one. After telling the Stoner looking counter kid that it wasn't an OEM gasket he responded with: "You won't find this gasket at any O'Reillys because it's not the OEM size for your car" ... So I asked if I could see their gaskets and see if any of them were the same diameter as the one I brought in the guy replied with "ugh.. Well they're all in a box in the back." And made it clear that he wasn't willing to help me at all. Instead of wasting my time arguing with this kid I drove to the O'Reillys on grant and it probably took the guy there about a minute and a half to come back out from the back with 3 different gaskets that were the same diameter as the one I needed. I went by there today and I had a Super Worker named Chase who helped me purchase the correct headlight bulb out in my Charger and he even installed it for me taking up 20 minutes because the cap closer for the bulb was difficult to put on verses taking it off was easy twist and snap off but challenging to twist back on. He was very patient and so helpful. 5 Stars for dude for being a Super Worker there at O'Reilly!! read more
