We came here one night after we ate at the Park Burger next door. Sweet Lordy this place is amazing! They have some peculiar flavors like orange marshmallow chocolate. And basil lemon blackberry. But I went with my usual mint chip. Am I glad I did. It tastes like nothing I have ever tried in my life before. First off it was white. Not neon green. That is always a good sign. The first bite tasted like actual mint leaves. There was no artificial flavors going on at all. I let each person in my party try it and everyone was blown away with the taste. So creamy and delicious I couldn't even believe it. It was a bit pricey for the small little scoop but it was worth every penny. They use local organic products. As well as have an assortment of kosher items. I was bummed when we went back as they had a different group of flavors and did not include the mint. This time I tried the brown butter pecan. Fortunately, some friends were going and thought of me (thanks, guys!) So once making my rounds through a dozen flavors, I finally decided that I couldn't decide on just one flavor. I was skeptical when this place opened last year because it didn't have the greatest Yelp rating right off the bat, but then it won Westword's Best Ice Cream award, so I re-checked the ratings and they'd gone way up. Plus, three words... ICE CREAM FLIGHT. Sign me up! Sadly, the ice cream flavors just didn't do it for me. This is personal preference, but I'm in it for the mix ins and straight ice cream kind of bores me. I guess I should know by now that if there's no chocolate chip cookie dough on the menu, it's not a good sign. That being said, they do have some interesting flavors. We were in the neighbourhood on a Saturday night and decided to pop in for a little ice cream. This ice cream place is set up like your usual ice cream shop. They let you get a little taste of ice cream before you commit to a flavor, which helps if you can't decide. I liked the variety in their flavors, they had their typical chocolates, caramels, fruity flavors, anything that you might desire. My personal favorite was their earl grey short bread ice cream, seriously if you like earl grey tea then you'll love the ice cream. Price wise it's in line with your standard ice cream prices, and if you are a real ice cream die hard you can get an ice cream flight for $9. Such amazing flavors! My go-to this summer has been rose gold (which is like a strawberry chocolate ganache) and the dark chocolate with chocolate fudge chunks. It's absolutely amazing ice cream. They offer a wide range as well as milkshakes and floats. The ice cream isn't super rich and they scoop well at this location. There is usually a line starting around 8:30pm, so I recommend going a bit early. They have a great little patio and it is next to Park Burger. Highly recommend! I have not tried the flights of ice cream (because that's a thing to do in Denver) but I think it is a good price for what you get. I will definitely be doing this in the future! read more

We opted for a single scoop and the scoop didn't even surpass the top of the tiny cup they gave us.. very unfortunate for $3 per scoop. I hope it was just an off day for our scooper, but the amount was definitely a disappointment as you can find other delicious local ice cream that gives you a reasonable amount of ice cream for the same price! Ice cream wise.. very creamy compared to other local joints. It's in a neighborhood where the old homes are being torn down and modern architecture is replacing the old homes. So I came here way back in November and remember the experience being Ok but nothing special. My last two visits have made up for that ten fold. First trip must have been a fluke. So one trip I got the basil blackberry swirl and the coconut ginger. Wow, super different. I usually don't care for basil, but wanted to try it since it was very different sounding, and I'm now a basil in ice cream fan. The coconut ginger is really cool to. Tasted a bit like a curry base without all the spices. It was very exotic and packed a bit of a punch. Next time I got the basil blackberry again because I just loved it so much! I also got the banana honey, which tasted like a delightful frozen banana. Looking forward to coming back and seeing what new flavors they will come up with. read more

Let me start with that the ice cream is delicious - I love it. However, the last time I was in there with kids I had the snottiness, most unfriendly young man serving us. We were met with eye rolls when asking to sample flavors, disdain when asked for a cup to go with our cone and we felt rushed by his unpleasant attitude. When spending $25 on ice cream I expect a bit more customer service than haughty eye rolls, sighs and a bad attitude. I have been a loyal customer for awhile but will be spending my money at Nuggs from now on. The establishment is clean, service is very friendly, but most importantly, the ice cream: the flavors aren't overly sweet and there's a great variety available at good prices. There's creamy ice creams, light sorbets, and something in between for every palate. I got the flight with basil with blackberry, coconut creme brulee, blueberry lemon, corvus coffee, and grapefruit brown sugar sorbet. My niece got the chamomile with strawberry, my nephew got strawberry rhubard... both absolutely loved their desserts! High Point Creamery serves up high quality, rich, creamy, low overrun ice cream. My husband and I decided on the ultimate taste test: one flight each. That means between us we got to try 10 flavors and both sauces. We had: Brown Sugar Cinnamon: Reminded me of the milk at the bottom of a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch, probably my favorite of everything we tried. Tin Cup Whiskey with Pistachio Brittle: All of the subtle and complex flavors of whiskey with none of the burn. LOVED this one. Lemon Popsicle with Raspberry: Very pleasantly tart raspberry flavor, a tiny bit icey but I found that kind of fitting with the bright tartness, and the Popsicle name. Corvus Bloom Coffee: Not icey at all like some coffee flavors can be, the flavor is very authentic "black coffee", with a nice bitter bite of espresso beans. Brown Butter Pecan: Quite sweet, lots of big chunks of pecan, with a little hint of amaretto. I couldn't eat a lot of this one but a bite or two was soooo good. Salty Dog Chocolate: Well balanced, not super chocolatey or super salty...solid. Mint with Chocolate Bark: not too sweet, not dyed green (yay!) very herbal, reminded me of Moroccan mint tea. Salted Caramel: a little sweet for me but with tons of brown sugary flavor. Blueberry Lemon: really good, tastes like freshly picked blueberries, just a touch of lemon. Basil with Blackberry: Captured the summertime basil taste perfectly, a little licoricy. Not necessarily my cup of tea when it comes to ice cream, but really well executed. The only thing holding me back from that 5th star were the sauces. The fudge sauce was only ok, and the caramel was downright disappointing and VERY grainy. I've had tons of trouble getting caramel to turn out right at high altitude, so I know that its no easy feat, but with the quality of the ice cream being so high, I really had hoped they would nail it. We'll definitely be returning. They have a diverse selection of flavors to suit every palette and no matter what flavor you choose the craftsmanship of the ice cream is top notch...probably the best in Denver. Though next time I may try and trade my sauce selection for a couple extra triangles of that delicious waffle cone garnish. read more

The original season they had some obvious growing pains. That happens with all new restaurants/ice cream places! Since they have definitely improved, which I take credit for. Everyone in my party tried a different flavor, and we all agreed the flavors were true to the names, and that they weren't overly-sweet. One criticism would be that while the assortment of creative and unusual (yet still desirable) flavors was abundant, there was a noticeable lack of chocolate. Salty dog chocolate is my absolute favorite!!! It's slightly salty, but sweet, creamy and the chocolate is amazing. I been here a few times and although they have a great selection of flavors to choose from, I always end up with the salty dog in a waffle cone. High Point solved this with their flight trays. It was about $11 but you get 5 scoops that are separated out, as well as a topping sauce. This was the best idea in the world. Best of all, pretty much all of their ice cream flavors were fantastic. They have a few of their standard flavors they make, but the best are always the fun experimental flavors.
