I've been a loyal patient at High Point Dentistry for the past 6+ years, but I'm sad to say that the quality of service has drastically declined. Initially, Dr. Kong and the staff provided exceptional care, but since Dr. Kong's departure to open up more locations, the practice has taken a turn for the worse. One of the most glaring issues is the constant staff turnover. It seems like there's a new hygienist every time I visit, which is multiple times a year. This lack of consistency is concerning and doesn't inspire confidence in the practice. Moreover, the focus on upselling and unnecessary procedures has become pervasive. Despite reputable dentistry standards suggesting that certain procedures are not needed annually, High Point Dentistry insisted on conducting them every year and sometimes multiple times within a year. It felt like they were more interested in billing for every item than prioritizing my dental health. What truly disappointed me was the recent incident during a routine cleaning appointment earlier today. I was informed that unless I agreed to additional X-rays and a full exam, they wouldn't clean my teeth. When I declined, they refused to proceed with the cleaning. This blatant disregard for my preferences and attempts to coerce unnecessary procedures left me deeply dissatisfied. Thankfully, I found a more reputable dentistry recommended by my wife. They were able to get me in immediately due to a cancellation and I drove straight there. Not only did they accommodate my preferences, but they also confirmed that some of the treatment and some of the diagnosis, and recommendations by High Point Dentistry were unnecessary. This experience reaffirmed my belief that High Point Dentistry is more focused on profit than patient care. Overall, I'm disappointed by the decline in service and integrity at High Point Dentistry. I hope they can address these issues and regain the trust of their patients. The prevalent practice among many dental clinics of prioritizing procedures for insurance billing rather than focusing on genuine patient needs must be abandoned. read more

I can't even begin to explain how great of a dentist office this is. Dr. Kong is a magician or something because he's extremely skilled and does phenomenal work. I've been going to this office for almost 3 years now and every visit has been extremely accommodating. Everyone has such a great and positive attitude and, unlike other dental offices I've been to, not once did I ever feel ashamed or embarrassed over how bad my teeth looked. The ladies at the front desk are so nice and work with you and your schedule in such an understanding way and always have an answer for any questions you may have. The dental assistants are also very kind and always seem excited for you after you've finished your appointment, just don't forget your toothbrush! Ha! The hygienists are awesome as well and are great at explaining the correct way to take care of your teeth, again, without making you feel bad for yourself. Which leads me back to the magical unicorn that is the illustrious, Dr. Kong. He helped me develop a plan to get my entire mouth cleaned, capped, filled and ready to deliver a smile. I'll spare the details on just HOW bad my teeth were, because it was pretty bad, but Dr. Kong was as supportive of me accomplishing this feat as he was excited to see it all come to fruition. Eventually, I received the Six Month Smiles treatment for orthodontics and now I've successfully completed all that I've been wanting to accomplish, for myself, for YEARS but just felt so embarrassed. This is by far the best dental establishment I've ever been to. I'm so appreciative and thankful of the entire staff for being so friendly, thoughtful and supportive of myself as well as other patients. You really don't see that a lot these days. Honestly, if I was famous and lived in Hollywood or something, I would personally fly out to Elgin, IL just to have Dr. Kong look at my teeth. Ha! Today I had my scheduled cleaning with Jackie at High Point Dentistry in Elgin. She is so good as a hygienist. Always super friendly and also very careful. That is important to me at least, because although I really like everyone who works there i just don't enjoy being in a dentist's chair. Jackie helps make it tolerable for me and I appreciate that. When you walk in for your appointment they greet you by name. There are usually two or three people busy at their computers. The office, led by Alana (office manager) runs smoothly. If you ever have a question about anything, everyone is more than willing to help you. It is not one of those doctors offices where you are made to feel like you are intruding as you tap on the glass to speak with the person sitting on the other side who is making believe they don't see you. It is quite the opposite at High Point Dentistry. I attribute this positive style of working with patients to Alana and any others serving in a managerial role. I think that all the staff that Alana manages has been chosen wisely. They are all attentive towards patients ad they each seem to be the type of person who is patient and gets along well with others. i LOVE coming to the dentist. The staff is PHENOMENAL and i always feel at-ease and at home here. They are so attentive and are always willing to make everyone personable. I have never had a bad experience with them and they are always willing to make a conscious effort to not only know me as a person, but to make sure that I have gotten the best treatment possible. Nicole is absolutely the best and so are all of the employees, from the receptionists to the doctors. Dr. Kong is such a great guy, and knows exactly what he is doing when he is working on you. Dr. Erickson also does a magnificent job and is a very patient and kind person. All employees are constantly checking to see if you are doing well and they make sure to thoroughly inform you of all of your options and what they are doing. I live about 40 minutes away from the office, and am so deeply in love with the cleanliness, the sincerity of the employees and the joy they bring to me whenever I have an appointment there. I have been going to High point family dentistry for the past few months. I had gone to a dentist maybe twice in my childhood and at the age of 25 found myself needing to catch up on it all, finally. I am not at all okay with needles and I knew that pretty much everything I had to have done required them. I was open and honest about my fear and not once did anyone in the office make me feel silly or ashamed over it. Dr. Kong is extremely professional and friendly. Every interaction I have had with an employee has been great. I will no longer dread going to the dentist. It has been a pleasant surprise to find that I went form being nervous the second I thought about going to the dentist to now not minding the experience at all. If you are someone that is terrified of needles or just a little scared of dental procedures I highly suggest High point family dentistry. They were great at working within my insurance constraints and I enjoy that they have a TV in the exam room so you aren't bored if you forget your phone. They even have headphones! read more

We moved out of the Elgin area where High Point is located to a town in Lake County. My wife and I still go there because of the friendly, quality care they provide. They are always in a good mood. And it helps the atmosphere of a type of place that, we can all agree, rather avoid if we could. From a friendly reception to a friendly hygienist, to a friendly dentist, it's the whole friendly customer service package. And as far as quality, I've had crowns and fillings and the like from other dentists in the past, but the teeth that have been fixed would have the fix wear out prematurely. So far in the 7 years we've been going there, I haven't had any problems with their work. They have refilled and recrowned some of those teeth along with some new work and no problems so far. Dr. Kong has been my main dentist, but I've also been taken care of by Dr. Albert so it shows the kind of high quality practice they are running over there with there great staff. For as long as we are in the Chicago land area, we'll be going there. read more

I've always had this weird love hate relationships with any kind of medical/ clinic facility. Idk if it whole sterilized smell or because I just don't like doctors! But anyways. It's been a few years since I've been to the dentist, I know I know crazy! I decided to come to this place because it's at a perfect distance from home, walking in I was already satisfied. The was small and cossy. I was immediacy greeted by a friendly receptionist. Felicia was the one that did my teeth cleaning and I have to say I will no longer be scared of the dentist. Lol. She was very friendly, caring, and above all patient with every little freak out I would get. I can tell she loves doing what she does, she was gentle with my cleaning and informed me about the next step she was doing to do. "This might sting" "I'm going to apply pressure" ex. So, allow me to do my first review ever. I'm real sketchy on trying out new dentists just cause not every dentist does what's best for you. First day there, I already liked their work a trillion times better than my old teeth scrapers and felt as if I've been going there for years! I mean sh*t, they were cleaning my teeth and telling me things that I never knew, that my old dentist never did or told me (see what I did right there, I said a swear word just so you know I wrote this). If you need to go to a dentist and feel at home, then this is the place for you. The staff is made out of courteous and professional people. Dr. Kong is very experienced and if you are very anxious when it comes to visiting the dentist, (like myself), then worry no more. Dr. Kong really cares for his patients and is thorough with the treatment you will need, he is also a funny and down to earth person. I know this because I just got my root canal and crown done in one day! I was there probably about 4 - 6 hours and never felt more comfortable at a dentist like I felt at High Point Family Dentistry. I went to High Point Dentistry based on two recommendations from friends. It did not disappoint; in fact, it exceeded my expectations which I can't tell you enough, I really needed after various issues with other doctors. The best thing is they don't rush you and explain everything in detail. Each staff member: receptionist, hygienist, doctor, billing were exceptionally caring and professional. I can't recommend them enough so far. For once in my life, I feel I can trust a dental office and they'll look out for me in recommending the minimal care that I need (trying to meet what each patient is looking for) instead of extra expenses. The treatment rooms are great for hesitant kids. They have TVs on the ceiling! Each room has a theme. So glad I came here. I hadn't been to the dentist in 17 years, and I'm glad I wound up here when I decided to go. Everyone is very friendly and professional up to and including the dentist. The facility is very formal and upscale, but the staff is very friendly and casual. I think that's what most people want whether they know it or not. Based on my visits and procedures and the research I've done their pricing is at the low end of the market. They have an in house membership and discount plan as well as financing, so you can skip dental insurance. I'll spare you the details, but they passed on the opportunity to talk me into things I didn't need--even after 17 years of neglect. I've been coming in for a couple of years and am very pleased! Needed an emergency visit the other day and they were most accommodating. The office staff is very professional and friendly. I honestly cannot rave enough about High Point and their team! They treat you like family. They don't treat you like strangers. Dr. Kong is very soothing and does a great job. I had absolutely the best dental experience at High Point Family Dentistry! I was very unhappy with the appearance of my teeth before I came in to see Dr. Kong. I want to start off by stating that the office is always impeccably clean, and the staff is always very friendly. He recommended the 6 month smile. Can't say enough about this place. My family and I have been coming here for about three years now, and every time we have had an amazing experience. Going to the dentist is never easy, but Dr. Kong and his staff make you feel so comfortable that you forget that your at the dentist. In my time at High Point Family Dentistry, I have experienced everything from extractions, fillings, implants, orthodontic treatment, cosmetic work and cleanings. I have never been in a more relaxing enviorment. Dr. Kong is an amazing doctor and I am so happy with my most recent transformation. I underwent orthodontic treatment to correct spacing that I was unhappy with. After the completion of Invisalign, I was ready for Veneers that completely transformed my smile and have honestly changed my life completely ! This is one of the nicest places I've ever been to. This was my first change in densistry They have complementary blankets, headphones, neck pillows, aromatherapy scents, etc. The staff here were absolutely phenomenal. Anum, Jessica and doctor Erickson were the ladies who helped me out, and I cannot Emphasis how well they explained everything to me to better the caring of my teeth. The wait here was not bad, I think I waited a total of 3 minutes (which is nothing). Very efficient and lovely dentistry, I will be coming here for all my visits. I haven't been to the dentist in years because of past experiences that were not so pleasant. High Point and Dr. Kong changed my mind. I went in for a root canal and am glad to say that it was painless. One of my biggest fears is that dreaded needle and I can honestly say that I did not feel it at all! At one point when the numbing was wearing off, Dr. Kong immediately fixed the issue. He has a great chair side manner and his staff is top-notch. I love this place! Everybody from the dentists, Dr Kong and Dr Albert, to the reception staff are super friendly and customer oriented. Both my husband and I have been coming here for little over a year and they all remember your name, life story, and do everything they can to make you feel at ease in the chair. As an added bonus, I love the television screens with Netflix playing in all the rooms. This is a great dental clinic and I will be sad to leave as a patient when we have to move.
