I have received 4 tattoos here by 2 different people. In 2008 I went to Erich (I think that is how you spell his name) and he did 3 tattoos at once. I got a word on each shoulder blade and a small constellation on my foot. He was on time and The work was beautiful. He had his own private room upstairs and he was quiet while he worked. He remained focused on the task at hand. In 2010 I had Splat do a quote on my left wrist. It is in script and in German. Splat was talkative and friendly, but I also think that lead him to slightly misspelling a word in the tattoo. I didn't realize this until I got home. But I called the shop, explained to him what I thought happened. He was set that it was exactly like the stencil I gave him, but asked me to come down so he could take a look. I came down right before they closed, he looked at it and realized that it was his error and did his best to fix it. Lucky for me it is in German and not many people notice the misspelling. I think if he had not tried to fix it I would have only given 2-3 stars, but his want to make the customer happy led me to giving this shop 4 stars. I also got my ears gauged here. They were fast and looked great. Everyone at the shop is really friendly. Even with the one hang up, i would still go back for other work if I still lived in the area. read more

I first went here to get some assistance with my nipple piercings. They were acting up and the shop I'd had them done at had closed. They were really great with fitting me with a new set of jewelry that actually fit me. They gave me a decent deal, and were friendly, clean and informative, while still casual. I came here to get my tattoo from Travis, and had an extremely positive experience, beautiful work, and great touch up a few months later. Can't recommend enough. read more

I got three piercings here at once, my rook, forward helix and a mid-cartilage. My rook and my mid have healed up nicely and look amazing! However, my forward wasn't pierced far enough in and even though the earring was thin, you can literally see it through my skin. Jim was super helpful in calming my nerves and making sure I was okay with everything both before and after the piercing. It is a super clean place and I would definitely go back if I lived in the area. I am just super disappointed about my forward piercing and am sad that I have to pay to get it redone in the future. read more

Well I loved this place or so I thought I did. I thought I was going to be getting an amazing sleeve with tattoo artist Rest. He was nice and great the first 4 hour appointment the second appointment he was on the phone for the majority of my appointment and wasn't so friendly, the third appointment was weird his attitude wasn't friendly very up and down. My 4th appointment didn't happen because I asked questions like how much time we were going to have and how much did he think we could get done he was frustrated with me asking questions which blew my mind and he decided not to finish my sleeve. His art style also changed which I know is why he didn't complete the project it was all so rude and unprofessional which is sad because overall he has talent but doesn't know how to treat paying customers. Communication skills need a major improvement. I'm just happy I found a new shop that's friendly, professional, and honestly amazing! So maybe this was meant to be. Hopefully you will have a better experience then I did just don't ask too many questions! read more

I really liked this place at first and the staff but I'm giving 2 stars because of the pricing and the fact that one of my ears got infected. I only went here because at the time I was going to college in Eugene and I was super anxious to get my thirds done. They claim that they use "only the best jewelry". Honestly, I got 2 cartilage done by someone else after going here and it costed 1/3 of their price and it never got infected and the jewelry seems just as nice. $112 for TWO piercings for the lobe. It was honestly so ridiculous AND one of the ears got infected even though I cleaned it 3-4 times a day just like they instructed me to. I now go to a piercer at home that is very reputable and I honestly regret going here. The price you pay isn't worth it, even if my ear didn't get infected I still wouldn't return or recommend this place to anyone else. read more

I had never had a tattoo before and was pretty scared about the needle. But Rest was very careful and was conscientious about my concerns. He finished very quickly but it turned out beautiful! I got 4 piercings done at this shop nov 2019 and all of them stayed infected for the past year. Always hurting and swollen and painful. The lady who pierced it did a horrible job at cleaning my ear beforehand so it wasn't surprising my piercings stayed messed up. After a year of continuous infection and pain from all the piercings I finally went and got the jewelry changed at a nicer shop. It's been two days and my ears feel SO much better than the past 365+ days of pain solely bc of this shop. I tried every kind of soap and nothing worked. Moral of this story is that their jewelry is cheap and will infect your ears and it's over priced for nothing AND the person who does the piercing doesn't even care enough to properly disinfect the ear. Don't go to this shop unless you want infected and swollen ears forever. read more

Extreamly disrespectful. A man with long hair who was working the counter didn't greet or welcome people in. Was pretty slow in the shop, not busy at all. As soon as I got to the counter he told me to not touch my earrings. First thing he said to me when I walked in. He failed to explain why to not touch my earrings. He just flat out told me it was a rule. He was unable to educate me why that was a rule. So I decided to go to the one on 6th street. They were super nice. Very respectful. Atmosphere was so much more positive. Very friendly place. Staff was great. So to everyone who doesn't know which location to go to I would highly recommend to go to the one on 6th. Street!!!! I have heard great reviews about this place and I am absolutely certain it is an excellent place for a tattoo. The entire place is very clean and very well maintained and professional. I got my doubles pierced here (I have my regular ear piercing and two cartilage piercing) and one of my ear's had a huge build up of scar tissue and a massive keloid. My piercings also aren't equal on each side which is slightly frustrating, but the most annoying part is that my ear is massively swollen. I still ranked 4/5 because I wasn't sure if the ear issue was my own issue or an issue of piercing. read more

The energy was really nice when I first got there but as soon as it came down to actually getting pierced the service turned sour. Upset I don't remember the name of who pierced me cause I wasn't spoken to by the piercer at all except to be told what to do. I went in to stretch my ears (brand new to the entire process mind you) and was just given a size and it was shoved into my ear, they weren't cleaned or oiled at all. Then charged me $100 for a walk in tat that was the size of two fingers and the receptionist lady was a god damn bitch. As far as the tattoo world goes, I am definitely a newbie so the environment here was so open and friendly and honestly perfect for getting my second tattoo. I was able to get a consultation and an appointment all within one week. The ladies working the reception area were AWESOME! They were so sweet and on a super busy Saturday they handled the pressure so well and with a big smile. My tattoo was done by Rest and I was so happy with my experience. He is a very nice guy and gave me the professional advice I was looking for. I got a tattoo of lyrics on my rib cage which I was fairly nervous for because it is definitely a sensitive spot. I was a bit disappointed with the service--my piercer was very experienced, but he was so experienced that he was cocky, hurried me through the process, and made me feel intimidated rather than comfortable. The place is very clean, though, and the free salts for soaking are great---they also give free check-ups on piercings whenever you want, which I love. read more

Yesterday I went into High Priestess to get my first tattoo. I made an appointment with Rest and texted him a raw draft of a drawing of what I wanted the night before. When I arrived (early, I might add,) I was helped quickly, given tips on what to expect and how to make the process as stress-free as possible and contrary to some of these negative reviews, made to feel very welcome in the shop. The staff were patient, knowledgable and positive and the place was so clean, it felt hospital-sterile, from the stations down to the floor tiles. The mood was relaxed and the tunes were perfect. Rest had everything set up and a polished, refined version of the raw draft I had sent him before I hit the table, which truly set my mind at ease. The whole process took maybe 45 minutes, was surprisingly relaxing, relatively painless and the finished product is a perfect reflection of my vision. Rest was thorough, calming and professional and I would recommend him to anyone. I was given excellent instructions for aftercare, wasn't rushed at all and the energy of the shop provided for a perfect first-tattoo-experience. I got my nose pierced here several months ago, and just went back to get my stud changed to a ring today. I saw the same piercer both times (Jim I believe?), and I absolutely love him. He is sanitary, fast, knowledgeable, and super fun to talk to. My piercing didn't hurt at all and I was very pleased with the aftercare I received. Can be pricey but absolutely worth it, plus there are always coupons available-and I found that the ring I got today was very reasonably priced. Will never go there again! I went in for a sizable cover-up. Paid almost 700 and spent 4 and a half hours in a chair for an outline. And just a few weeks ago my wife and I went in to talk to an artist about a tat she wanted touched up, they were rude, ignoring customers, way overpriced, and just had a general shitty attitude. They got to big for their britches and their heads swelled. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

Got my nose pierced yesterday and honestly the best place. I live in Portland and every attempt of getting one done was just plain horrible. Portland I believe has a bad rep for just rude receptionists and service.... But since I go home to Eugene every 2-3 weeks decided to get it done there!!! I would recommend high priestess to anybody. Alex the piercer is the only reason there is even a star on my review. I went in a while ago and the piercer that changed my nose studs, put in the new ones, and accidently tossed my nice glass studs away. I asked about getting a new pair to correct the mistake, I frequently mentioned I wanted the same exact style, a glass nose screw, not the L shaped retainers they normally carry. They said no problem and would call me when my order came in. I went a month with hearing nothing and finally called, apparently they were in stock. I went down there and told the front desk woman who I was and that I was there for the glass nose studs. She pulls the pair and hands them to me, they were the wrong style, they were the L-shaped retainer style, not a screw style. I got crap attitude when I told her there was a mistake, instead of offering to even take a second look, I get told that is all they carry and order. I asked about compensation or an alternative with the only answer being, "that is the only style we carry." Not only crap customer service, but I walked out of there with nothing and no apologies from the rude woman up front. I am trying management to simply get this resolved, but I am still going to go to either The Body Jewelry Company or Trend Kill in Redmond, OR for all my piercing and jewelry needs, Luke has variety, knows what he is doing, and has great customer service, everything that High Priestess does not have! read more

I've had two great experiences with piercers here. Jim did my second ear cartilage piercing and was professional, clean, funny and super patient with me being picky about placement (I've been rushed into crooked earring placements before and insisted on sticking my hoop over the dot he drew to see how it would look with my existing jewelry). The piercing itself was about as quick and painless as a cartilage piercing can be, and has been healing more cleanly than any piercing I've ever had (I have 12)--no irritation or infection whatsoever. I was also pretty impressed with their jewelry selection (I chose a 14k gold hoop, and might get a rose gold one in the future), and went back the next week to see what options they had for swapping out my old tongue ring to something nicer and less clunky. Josh helped me out and was absolutely fantastic. He gave me a ton of advice about post gauges and ball sizing, and even let me try a few until we found the most comfortable sizes--many piercing shops won't let you test jewelry since they then have to put the discards through an extreme sanitizing process, so I really appreciated Josh's patience and commitment to helping me find the right pieces. He ended up sending me home with a different, smaller sized ball on each end of a shorter post and told me to swap them after a few days to figure out what's most comfortable before special ordering the new gold version I want. I've had this tongue ring for 15 years and was considering giving it up completely, but thanks to Josh I've found a solution I'm confident I'll be happy with long term. read more
