Such a chill place to stay. Recommend!

Unless you must drive all the way straight through to LA and you have a minute to take a more gentle route with a stop along the way, stop here. If Paso is your destination you may stop here as well, but certainly for sure without exception if it's a layover, stop here. The property and rooms are cute and clean, the staff super professional, helpful and friendly. The pillows are perfect and the in-room amenities what you need. Price point is unmatched and definitely ideal for an overnight. The inn is a short three blocks from the square and many dining options abound there. There's also a really delicious burger joint across the street and a deli a block over if you want a few of the 805 lagers to keep you company. And if you're stuck in the room for five hours on laptop calls and elect to have a burger first then all the 805 lager during you never get to walk to the fine dining spots and choose one last beer and the pillows instead. Strong recommendation for this spot. My newest stopover go-to.

I love EVERYTHING about this place! The design and detail, the little amenities, it's squeaky clean and so so cute Cannot wait to go back!

Update: Management called me & agreed to issue a partial refund. $65 was returned. They asked why Indidnt call the on call number. I told them because I went by the office saw that it was closed. I just gotten out of the shower so I was relaxed & ready to sleep at 1:30am. Now I know for next time to inspect my room.

Wow!! Quaint, clean, perfect location to everything Stag room ( our suite) decorated to theme of our now fav hotel when in town We will definitely be back!

Fire pits at night

Very cute place. Loved the fire pit and S'more. Very clean and comfortable! Very good coffee service in the morning.

Bathroom with cute hotel logo shower curtain

Enjoyed this cozy ranch theme hotel stay. Very clean and walking distance to downtown Paso.

Car show weekend

Car show weekend we booked our room at the Stables Inn. Cute quaint and comfortable. Customer service was so friendly and welcoming that when we arrived luckily we were able to check in early! Checking out was just as smooth. The breakfast coffee and muffin bar was a good start to a busy day. In the evening lounging at the fire pit was very relaxing. There is parking but it's a bit of a tightly squeeze backing out. The Stables Inn is just a short walk to the Downtown City Park shops and restaurants we left our car parked most of the day. Nice find in Paso Robles!

The property is immaculate and adorable. Our room was pristine. The members of staff we encountered were as helpful and lovely and efficient as could be (a far cry from typical LA.). The public areas (breakfast room, sitting area / fire pit) are also adorable and thoughtfully planned. Our beds were so comfortable that I slept for 8 hours straight through, so not a given. I am a side sleeper but do not like a thick pillow, which I thought might be an issue, but obviously was not. I woke up in the same position that I fell asleep in. Fast WiFi, and an outlet through the headboard for charging at the bed. Parking and charger for your e-vehicle. Delicious fresh crumb cake in the morning, and premium to-go cups for coffee,(mugs in the room anlso) again all thoughtful. It was very hot today, but our room had the AC running and stayed nice a cool all night, probably why I slept so well. The open closet area and shelving assures you will not leave anything behind. Crowning touch of ambience, a stile (that's how it's spelled). 10 stars.

Island and Parking Lot

Stables Inn was a nice surprise. Despite technically being a motel, it surpasses many hotels in terms of quality and comfort. The entire place was spotless, with a modern design that gave the impression it was brand new. The bathroom was immaculate, which is a crucial factor for me, as there's nothing worse than outdated or unclean bathrooms. The mattress was comfortable (despite some reviews suggesting otherwise) and was complemented by quality bedding. I really liked the enclosed common seating area, complete with a gas heating stove, and the availability of tea (and coffee). The outdoor island in the parking lot with its three gas fire pits was also nice. The Stables Inn was the perfect balance between being cute and modern, sophisticated yet casual. This unusual combination contributed to its unique feel, making it an exceptionally pleasant stay at a fair price.

We were in room 201, and it was very quiet. The breakfast was complimentary but not that exciting. Had a cocktail in the outside bar, and it was very nice with all the fires. A lovely place to stay and we will definitely stay again when we visit Paso Robles again.

From the outside, it's rather unassuming, but once you go in the front doors, the inner real beauty of this location is revealed. The courtyard is simply amazing, and like a bubble in space and time that offers a refuge from the outside world. In the evening the fireplaces are burning with hardwood every night and they offer fresh made s'mores to hotel guests. There's actually a s'mores menu. The whole environment is almost like something from a movie. They've also got a wonderful library that is tastefully appointed with many wonderful and interesting different books to read. It definitely invites you to sit down and snuggle by the fire with a good book. Such a cozy feeling! You can also select some candy for a snack. The rooms themselves are also beautiful and the bedding looks nice. Though I will say for me personally the pillows were really uncomfortable, and they had a rough spun duvet which smelled musty on the inside like it hadn't been washed in quite awhile. It looked and smelled like they were washing the sheets and the blanket but not the duvet itself. They also offer breakfast in the morning, but it's a little bit later than some other places so if you have to get an early start, then you probably won't be able to catch it. Overall I really enjoyed the stay and would say this experience is really good for the boutique traveler that is looking for a peaceful, unhurried trip.

For my Wife's Birthday this past November, we booked our first trip to Paso Robles…read more To be perfectly honest... I don't know why, but I always thought that Paso Robles or "Paso" as it's referred to, was some Podunk town that just wasn't worth stopping for. Yeah, I've passed it so many times while traveling North on "THE 101" or simply "101" as they refer to it in NorCal.... ;) (IYKYK) And all those times I've passed through, I've never once thought about pulling off the freeway to see what Paso was all about. Well, just like Julia Robert's character said in Pretty Woman while shopping on Rodeo Drive.... "Big Mistake. Big. HUGE!" Yeah, just like that sales clerk in Pretty Woman I too made a HUGE mistake! Plot Twist: I am the Good Looking Not Quite the Silver Fox Richard Gere of this story. =) ----So let's break down Paso & The Ava Hotel---- For my wife's Birthday Weekend, we made reservations at... The Ava Hotel Paso Robles. Mind you, we left mid-day from our home and by the time we arrived to Paso and pulled into the Hotel parking lot, it was already dark, but right away I could tell that the Hotel my wife booked us was Top Notch. First Impression: Sheesh, my wife sure knows how to spoil herself for HER Birthday weekend. Haha. Once parked, I had my wife and 3 girls head into the lobby out of the cold while I lugged what felt like 12 suitcases... We were only there for three nights; do you really need a suit case just for your change of shoes?? Gotta love Girls... Plot twist: The suitcase with the extra shoes.... WAS MINE!!!!!! Jk, maybe, not really, I'll never tell... =) Upon checking in, I immediately noticed how Great the staff was; Kind, Welcoming and from the looks of the place, even at night, I just knew we were going to enjoy our weekend stay here. ----The Room---- Everything you'd expect, but More! We had 2 comfy Queens, a large screen TV, a mini fridge, a clean bathroom and a Great standalone shower! Being that this hotel is Brand New, everything was clean and felt nearly unused which really made for an enjoyable stay. The next morning, my wife's actual Birthday, we got dressed, headed downstairs and celebrated with a Birthday Mimosa from their Lobby Bar. It was the perfect start to our day and to my wife's Special Day From there we headed out to explore Downtown Paso Robles which BTW, The Ava Hotel is what I would call the start of the Downtown area so it's literally the PERFECT place to stay if you, yourself come to Paso Robles one day. And to those still with us, Remember earlier when I said I made a "Big Mistake. Big. Huge!" By simply thinking that Paso Robles was some Podunk, no-nothin town that wasn't worth exiting the freeway for?? Well, I'll be the 1st to admit. I was wrong!!! Paso is one of my new favorite Central Coast towns that I can't wait to come back to. The fun little shops, the great eateries, Wine, more Wine, Did I mention there's Wine? Yeah, loads and loads of world-renowned wineries specializing in French Reds, but they've got whites too so don't stress. Not a wine person? More of a beer drinker? Paso's Got You!! Come check out Firestone Walker Brewing Co., home of the "805" beer; the regions Phone Area Code. Yeah, drink local baby!! So after enjoying breakfast at the Cowgirl Cafe (Epic Review coming soon), we went to the downtown park at let our kids play with the locals. We then hit several of the eclectic shops, including a local bookstore where my wife was like a kid in a candy store and The Spice of Life Tea Shop which I fell in love with (reviews of everywhere we went NEXT, so stay tuned) and finally made our way back to The Ava to take a break and rest our pups (our feet). Upon walking back to The Ava Hotel, I couldn't help but be in Awe of this well manicured, architecturally forward, beautifully designed building. To be honest, It looks and it feels more like a Resort and I felt so spoiled to be apart of its beginning days and I'm proud to give it the 5 stars it deserves. So... What have we learned?? Step 1: Book a room at the Ava Hotel. Step 2: Put your wife's name on the luggage tag of your suitcase for the extra shoes you really brought. Step 3: Bring one empty suitcase for all the Romantasy books your wife's gonna buy at Spare Time Books! To Paso.... To The Ava Hotel... I can't wait to come back!

Self-parking was available in their private lot for a fee, but we found unlimited street parking right in front of the hotel every day. We felt safe since the police department was across the street. The lobby was spacious with many modern seating areas. Breakfast and lunch could be ordered via their walk-up counter. We reserved a room with a king bed and it was pretty small. There were only 2 drawers for clothing in a tiny closet. Bathroom had a single sink and a large shower. One positive was the very comfortable mattress. A shallow salt-water pool and fitness center were located on the second floor. Bicycles were available on the ground floor too. Overall, we enjoyed staying at this hotel and would return again.

What an adorable place to stay for a weekend trip to Paso…read more The Farmhouse is a newly renovated motel. While the word motel has certain perceptions attached to it, farmhouse is in actuality a bright, modern, and very aesthetically pleasing hotel with wonderful amenities. Prices can be average to above average depending on the time of the year, but we were able to use some credit card points to save even further. I'd say the stay is worth the baseline price, though. We got the standard king bed room. Each room has its own little patio, and a shared fire pit nearby. The room was spacious, clean, and the color palate is a dream. The bathroom amenities were standard. It's a room you wouldn't mind doing a staycation in. The service is wonderful. There is a front desk for easy check in, and the host was available via text if we needed anything ( at one point we needed more tissues and she brought it within minutes). They also offer free rosé upon arrival and free pastries and fruit/coffee during breakfast. The location is not exactly in downtown but it's a 15 min walk or a 5 min drive to the park/square. The instructions posted on the wall do not match the buttons on the remote. We ended up doing a web search for the unit's instruction manual. That's pretty sad. These things should be more intuitive. We liked having a fridge and microwave in the room. The downside to our room was that it was on the 2nd floor and we had to carry our things up the stairs since there was no elevator. Do ask for a ground floor if you want to avoid walking up stairs. I became more mindful of these details in recent years when husband suffered from shortness of breath and had a challenging time doing stairs. The property looks nice with several different buildings surrounding a center common grassy lawn area with curved walkways & mini bridge next to their herb garden and koi pond. There are little fish and some ginormous ones in their koi pond. There is also a pool at the rear of the property. It was easy to find parking near our room. The grounds look lovely from your room or from a distance. But we noticed dog poop on the grass when we wanted to walk over to one of the sofas in the grassy area. BE CAREFUL when walking on the grassy parts. People who bring pets here are not mindful about cleaning up after their pets. This is in stark contrast to our stay at Cambria Shores Inn during the previous days (a pet friendly hotel with lots of little dogs staying and no dog poop messes in the outdoor common areas). I guess the pet owners who stay at Cambria Shores Inn are more respectful than the ones who stay here at Paso Robles Inn. Another thing about the outdoor seating is that they look great from a distance, but their uncleanliness can be seen once you walk closer. They were dirty and there was even one set of sofas that had poop on them. It's as if the hotel staff does not go around and wipe the cushions down each day (which I have seen hotel staff do at other hotels and it truly makes a difference). It looks like a nice place to sit & relax outside, but doesn't really work out that way in practice. Hotel is conveniently located near shops & restaurants. The one challenge is crossing Spring St. which is way busier than I ever imagined it to be before booking a room here. LOL The downtown area is pleasant, and you don't need to drive anywhere unless you're visiting a nearby winery.

This place…read morehas multiple buildings from the restaurant, the other sub hotel called 1889, the so called wine rooms etc. our room is in the 600s, in front of the pool and spa. It's convenient to jump into the spa at night before 10:00pm curfew. What is bad is the fact that the receptionist doesn't seem to know what's listed in the website as part of the hotel's offering. We had to tell them that we should be expecting: -1 hr free e-bike rental per guest (of 2 people) - free happy hour drink - welcome amenity That's part of $45 resort fee that they charge daily. When we inquired they were quite reluctant to offer all of those. The welcome amenity never happened. As I was chatting with other guests in the hot tub none of them know about those services either and they were not offered. So, if the hotel doesn't plan to give them to the guests the should pull it off from the website. The people who work here are pretty nice. The park like setting is also a plus. Hauling your luggage to the second floor is something else. I packed light so it's not a problem for me but I see other guest struggled. They offer pick up service if you come via public transport. The little van is sooo cute!
