Hey Daddy-O, welcome to the most hip spot in Solvang. A tiki bar in Solvang? You certainly wouldn't expect this place here but you'll dig that it is. I love tiki bars; they are a rare find. Located in its own space at the rear of Sort This Out Cellars, you'll find yourself surrounded by wooden tiki figures and faces, hula girls, grass huts and all things Hawaiian. A fun video of 50s and 60s clips of pin up girls, hula dancers, cheesy beach movies and entertainers of the era play on a screen behind the bar. This is a small space with three seating areas and several stools at the bar. The twist here is the cocktails are all wine based. It sounds unusual but it works! I had something they call a Suffering Scandinavian made with white wine, ginger beer, lime juice and bitters. Served with an umbrella of course. Delicious...and it goes down easy. Needed somewhere to sit and chill so we tried out the High Roller Tiki Lounge. What a nice surprise. Once you step inside you are transported to another world. Dark lit with tiki decor everywhere. So much detail all around you. Nice touch with the tv playing old black and white movies. The Painkiller was refreshing and delicious. The service was quick and welcoming. As if that weren't enough, in the back you'll find their High Roller Tiki Lounge where you can kick back and sip some quality wines and/or cocktails while perusing some great nostalgic photographs. Gazing in at the interior, my attention was grabbed by the wine bottles with Betty Paige labels as well as the classic memorabilia and photos from the Rat Pack's Hey Day; back when they ruled the Vegas Strip and had their very own President in the White House ;-) The wines offered here are better than you might think, with reasonable prices and a little something to intrigue even the pickiest pallets. By far the most unusual wine to be found here is the Hot Spiced Mulled Wine. Went to this place to have a drink. (we had been there before and the service was OK) But this time we waited over 45 min and our drinks never came. We were told that because we didn't have a reservation our drinks would take about 20 min. We were understanding of that. But, after 30 min nothing came. We waited another 10 and still nothing. Although the tiki cocktails are not made in a traditional way due to what appears to be a lack of a liquor license, they make up for it in traditional tiki decor. The drinks still taste great as well, and were served in unique glasses. We tried the Mai Tai, Pirates Plank, and Pumpkin Spice Sacrifice. I would recommend them all. read more

Hummm Mixed feelings. The wait staff are great. The vibe and decor was fab. The menu is fun, and the drink names and descriptions are spot on. But a couple of drawbacks. They do not have a full liquor license, so the cocktails are soju based. And the mixed drinks were all very sweet. Yesterday, my Husband and I were driving back from Santa Barbara and my husband suggested stopping in Solvang. We were excited to check out the new location since it had been since before covid we had been. We walked in at 12:30pm and was greeted by the bartender who asked us if we were here for drinks. We said we would check out the menu and decide. While reviewing the menu we used the restroom. She then came back to check on us and due to her rude first impression we decided not to stay. As we were leaving she said " just came in to use our restroom." I said we were going to order drinks" and as we were leaving I said the new space looks good. She said okay. She was quite rude the whole time we were there! She had other tables also! We're avid tiki bar patrons and found this experience completely unwelcoming! We met Alanna who worked there at Tiki Oasis and she encouraged us years ago to stop by the bar. She was lovely! read more

I hate giving one star reviews- to me, it's kinda tacky and I try and give staff the benefit of the doubt when I have a poor experience. I've been a server and host, it's not easy and sometimes emotions are high and things go wrong. And a lot of the time, customers have no clue what's happening and rush to judgment. But boy, this experience was so terrible I want other people to be warned. I'm not alone in this: there are a couple other reviews about this. The bartender at High Roller (petite woman, brunette with fluorescent highlights) was very passive aggressive when we sat at the bar to have one drink while we waited for our dinner res across the street. We were the only customers at the bar. All other guests were in the other part of the bar/restaurant listening to the band. It was by no means a packed house. The bartender went from being passive aggressive to down right aggressive in the span of one minute. Scathing looks, slamming drinks, slamming doors. There are too many negative interactions or examples of things she did/ said to write here so just take my word. A few more people came into the bar (some to celebrate a birthday) I overheard her say to another staff member "I don't want them at my bar". The customers appeared to want to order drinks at the bar cause...that's what a bar is for. We should have just left but I was so shocked by how aggressive she was that I kinda froze. I drank my drink faster than I ever have in my life and got the f out of there. Side note: the other two staff members (a guy with grays and a lady with her bangs in a headband) were very polite. I saw the gal trying to manage the bartender's "wishes" while also trying to be hospitable to customers. It didn't look fun for her. The bar and restaurant were well-done as far as decor and Tiki related theme. It's worth checking out BUT if you see the bartender as described above run as fast as you can toward the exit. (She will basically tell you to leave anyway). read more

This tiki spot is tucked away in an alleyway near a gift shop and antique store. They have very limited hours from 1PM to 6PM with a extensive cocktail list.oat of their cocktails are wine based and very refreshing. They aren't like the traditional super sweet cocktails and are very well crafted. This lounge is a must do if you are in solvang. It's a hidden gem with a menu of delicious drinks served in playful ceramic mugs. A few types of seating include bar stools, a table and a small couch area. Two of the drinks we had are the Solvang Siren- with lychee and blood orange, and the Batten Down the Hatches- with white wine and creme de banana. Bar was able to operate during Covid-19 with a purchase of a food item. This place moved locations since the last time we went to it. The first time we went they had a Groupon offer to try 4 drink and get a free shirt. It was the first time I ever tired a wine based tiki drink... Man was it good! So we took a trip back to Solvang during Covid and we were so exited that this place was still open. They had outdoor seating with tiki theme light up speakers and it just made for a relaxing time. Stopped by for the first time with a group today. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the cocktails, and our server was pleasant. However, another server came by to drop off some of our drinks and her attitude was a real bummer. We had a friend who ordered a nonalcoholic drink, and that's all we wanted clarify, and she snaps at us and says "well, I don't know" and slams the drink on the table. There was no way it was misunderstood, she was rude and needs to act more professional. The server was a redhead with a pinup-style, which another friend had even complimented, and she gave us attitude yet again. I was getting a tattoo across the street at Hart and Dagr and Nik recommended this place to me! I was NOT disappointed. As a previous Disney cast member, I LOVED the attention to detail and felt like I was in a Disney bar. I also don't drink much but told the bartender that I usually only drink pineapple juice and Malibu rum and IF I ever have wine, it's Riesling. She recommended the Painkilla and it was SOOOO GOOOOD.
