Darn, i have been coming here for years, but the quality has been slipping. My wife picked up food on the way home on friday, with chips and guac, plus paid for two "blondies" kind of like brownies, but there are really big square choclate chip cookies. The gal at the counter said everything was in th bag. We got home to bad guacamole (it must have been a day old), then no blondies. I drove back from our place in TIb to strawberry, they gave me two blondies, back out the house we bit into them and they were raw on the inside! just cookie dough, barely cooked at all. we tossed them out. This is a great burrito if you prefer a very dry flavorless meal rolled in a tortilla. Just not my preference. People like it because you're supposed to. I've always been a big fan of high tech burrito. Tasty food and prompt, efficient delivery. They have also expanded their menu to include fajitas, salads, bowls and tacos. I have also noticed that seem to have low turnover which is a great sign! The people who work there are great!!! read more

Short version: they are not flexible and the food is not on par with others in the area. Long version. Went in and asked for nachos. They said they dont make them. I asked if they could sell me chips, grilled chicken, and some cheese and ill go home and heat it up (they have all three ingredients at the ready). They said no, they dont do "flexible" orders. Seriously. I then ordered a fajita burrito and a quesadilla (which came as chicken, cheese in a flour tortila). the fajita burrito was ok, not great flavor and too much juice, but whatever. The Quesadilla... crazy dry and absolutely nothing special. NOTHING. Funny, if they would have just given me boring tasteless nachos, i would have been fine. I used to really like HTB. Now every time I go there they give me a cold burrito, or something else is messed up with my order. I'm not sure what's going on there but the quality has really headed downhill, and fast. Just got a burrito for me and a bowl for my wife. Arrived home a short distance away and the food is already cold...not even warm, really. What happened, High Tech? You used to be my go-to burrito place and now, I'm not going to go back for a while. The only reason I give this place 2 stars instead of 1, is because the guacamole inside the burrito was good and the burrito came out quick. Other than that, my burrito was all bad. Small burrito for $10. "Steak" was cold, dry, hard and gray in color. I mean cold like it just came out of the fridge. Only thing "high tech" about this place was me sitting here writing this review on my iPhone. Go to Safeway and buy a frozen burrito if you want a better burrito than this. No kidding. So great for a really satisfying, quick and inexpensive but healthy lunch. I always get the same thing. An HTB burrito or burrito bowl with grilled chicken and veggies. This place is so great for weight conscious people like myself because they have very healthy options. They also state their caloric content of each menu item right on the restaurant menu so you know exactly what you are eating. This was a once-a-week stop for me during lunch when I lived and worked in Marin. Since I've moved to the city over 10 years ago, I can honestly say that I miss this place, and it's one of the few places I've been to ANYWHERE that has actually gotten BETTER over time! Now, whenever I know I'll be in Marin for a few hours, I will plan my entire daily food consumption to make space for a chicken burrito from High Tech Burrito. Also, the familiar faces of some of the employees that have been there for years, tells me that they have mastered their craft. The 3-star review from Andreas H is totally unwarranted. Dude, sorry you're not treated to five-star Michelin service with ample standing room for your convenience, but c'mon, it's an establishment in a strip mall - what do you expect? So, the only reason i'm giving these guys a star is because yelp MAKES you... i placed a phone order with them for lunch just today. i requested to add sour cream on my all my orders, and the person on the phone simply said "you cant." wtf? excuse me? he told me i couldnt get sour cream on my food...ummm...ok? i told him i'd pay for it if it costs extra, and he goes "oh...ok. you can pay extra for it then..." you dim wit. when are you ever gonna tell a customer they CANT have something when you actually carry it??? anyway, 15 minutes and one annoying conversation later, i come pick up my food and ask for hot sauce. i placed THREE orders with them, and he charged me $2.00 for hot sauce! wtf? fine. fk it. whatever, i'm in a rush. i'm hungry, i'll pay. i get back to my office, only to find that my food didnt have guacamole ORRRRR SOUR CREAM that I had to ask for like..a million times...AND I PAID FOR! i was so irritated, if i had more time, i would have gone back and chucked my food at them. i didnt even eat it, i just threw it away. Wow! The girl I spoke with tonight was a BITCH! I ordered food online for the Santa Rosa store and the site glitched on my phone and ordered at this store accidentally. The girl was super rude when I called asking to be refunded as I live over an hour away and she said "well it's not my fault you messed up" she wouldn't give me her name and I kept saying "excuse me excuse me" as she kept talking over me and then she says BYE and just hangs up. I was shocked by the service I received. I called a high tech burrito store here and they were just as shocked. I work in customer service and I do hair and I am not rude to people like that. She's in the wrong business. Talking to the lady locally she said the store I was trying to order at just closed and that's probably why the site redirected me without me knowing. Anyways I'll be calling corporate tomorrow. Don't expect good service here! read more

Tried the California burrito for lunch and have to say it was strictly ok. The burrito had too much salsa, the rice was undercooked & the tortilla was a little burnt. The guacamole was good the chips were fine. Overall it was nothing special just another burrito. Having eaten Tex-Mex food for the last five years, I am used to Mexican food with much more flavor. mostly likely won't be going there again. read more
