Sad excuse for blueberry pancakes. Looks like they piled blueberries in the center and poured pancake mix on top. Lazy.

Ordered breakfast via Ubereats. Hash brown potatoes were uncooked. Blueberry pancakes had a pile of blueberries in the center and none in the other 50% of the pancake. Hi-tides blueberry pancakes are a silver dollar sized blueberry pile surrounded by plain pancake. How difficult could it possibly be to distribute blueberries evenly? We get blueberry pancakes from every breakfast place we go to and never had them show up like this. Pure laziness. Go somewhere else.

Service was great , our server was very nice , food was very good, and the prices were very affordable , and surprisingly cheap. Cute little place to eat, they serve breakfast lunch and dinner.

The food here at the Hi Tide was great. The waitress was friendly and kind. The shop is small but full of life . The place is only open until 2 pm, but you get the BEST.

Seemingly steadfast and true, this local favorite spot seems to cater to its base, providing a consistent friendly and tasty menu. Open to menu special requests, and very friendly, felt welcome and accommodated. Food was presented fresh and was tasty. Good value, great service, unfortunately no bathroom for customers, (not needed but for observation) Restaurant was clean and comfortable, and would certainly return.

I've only had breakfast here and it was pretty average. Nothing special. Nothing awful. Except the coffee. The coffee is the terrible diner coffee you expect but always hope it isn't. Cash only.

Ate here for breakfast this morning after being recommended to give it a try. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and coffee. The pancakes are a generous size and the coffee is your standard diner drip coffee. This place gets pretty busy and it's not hard to see why. The food is good and cheap and service is quick. Cheryl was my waitress and she was so sweet and friendly!

The cafe is a smaller locally owned establishment and very well clearly a fan favorite. On a Sunday morning, almost every booth and seat was occupied. The menu features many of the breakfast fan favorites like omelettes, pancakes, and more. Venturing from my usual eggs benedict, I decided to get their chorizo breakfast burrtio. The chorizo was salty and the eggs were cheesy but I think seeing everyone else's dishes, this is certainly not their house favorite. BUT, my family loved their Morning Star breakfast, Irish eggs benedict, bacon egg & cheese omelette, Hungry Man Special, and corn beef hash. Peep my pictures to truly appreciate that they taste like how they look! From enjoying my breakfast burrito to trying some of my family's dishes, we were all more than happy with our wholesome and authentically American breakfast. The staff were so kind and an honorable mention has to be made for their wall full of acknowledged Winthrop Veterans. Absolutely loved my experience here and already looking forward to the next time I can come back to this cozy environment.

PATTY MELT REVIEW…read more Iconic diner on the edge of Chinatown, a couple blocks east of the Expressway. It's been around for decades and it's open 24/7. More of an authentic this-place-has-aged feel than the typical diner attempt to evoke an earlier era. Went in the morning and went for a patty melt-- because I could. It's too elusive these days, so being able to not only find one but have it at breakfast, a double win. Double patty is standard, not an add-on, and fries (probably frozen, but lengthy, crisp and fluffy) are included. No onions, no rye, but lettuce and tomato-- a non-traditional configuration. Nicely browned patties that had juiciness. The ingredients weren't anything to write home about, but the execution was great all around and so was the cheerful service from a seasoned veteran. Sure, I've had better with the proper rye, griddled onions, and higher quality beef, but an easy 4 stars for the execution, value, vibe, and being able to even order a patty melt before 10 in the morning. Bonus points for a plastic ketchup squeeze bottle that was slightly warm. Breakfast items (eggs, crispy home fries, and pancakes) on a neighboring table looked good.

We didnt mind. Our sever, Marie was extremely attentive and nice. South Street Diner is a small but not too small venue which serves breakfast all day. With my meal, I chose a mimosa, not just the regular prosecco and orange juice, but an apple pie mimosa made with swirls of caramel and topped with cinnamon. It was good. The food came out fast, portions were huge to where I could not eat it all, and it was delicious. I'm sure if in Boston again, I'll return.
