My husband and I came here for breakfast. There was no wait and the server told us to find a table of where wanted to sit. We sat and it took about 15 minutes until someone came to take our drink order, as we waited a while we gave them our food order as well. Though we were a bit annoyed that another couple came in 5 minutes after us and the same server went to them to ask their drink order immediately. The service wasn't a great impression. The food was average, nothing spectacular. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as there was a large party celebrating a birthday but then again the couple who came after was served first. The coffee was good, hot, not watered down, and I did not have to ask for a refill. The steak breakfast burrito with potatoes was yummy, large and filling. I can also recommend the oatmeal with berries. Compared to other places with a similar price point, I think my food was bette, in more abundance and the service attentive. This morning was the first time ME & my GF ordered from here and we ordered a decent order we didn't receive our French toast or pancakes that we ordered and also the toast that my girlfriend received with her breakfast was burnt toast was black burnt toast and anybody who made it could clearly see that the toast was not edible and they still sent it to us very unhappy with this place. read more

Have been on a diner tour for the last few months to try and stop in to as many as we can (My son is slowly becoming a Foodie like his mom, and addicted to diners) This place is like a mile from my house and in all my life I had never been here. Walk in, seat yourself, standard menu - everything is good, but there is always something like Blah, Cold coffee, burnt toast, little things. But for the price & variety, you cant go wrong, there is always 2 girls on and these girls bust their ass to move things around fast so I get it. Had the Eggs Benedict this past weekend and they were decent (Im new to EB and trying them anywhere they are on the menu) Its one of those things, I never tried and am mad I never did! Boys like the pancakes, but sometimes they are cold, sometimes too much chocolate, sometimes not enough, depends who's cooking, but yes we will continue to come back, because its affordable and like cooking in your own kitchen - you know what you are getting! read more

Loved it here- hidden gem - I had the veggie omelette and added bacon - best home fries I've had anywhere !! My husband had the Everyday special - 2 eggs-2 sausages - home fries toast and 2 pancakes- I think it was less than $11 which other places are closer to $20 Their coffee was so good and so fresh and the service was top notch !! I ordered from Grubhub and wasn't disappointed. Got a breakfast burrito with bacon and it was gigantic. I'm still working on it as we speak. I see a lot of negative reviews about this place, but after working in the service industry for years, give them a break. We're all doing our best with the rough circumstances we've been given. Ordered takeout and it was highly disappointing and messy. Two of my styrofoam containers were burned and one was all the way through and melted onto the food. My husband and I made a quick stop on our way to the airport and WOW. I got a ham, egg and cheese on an English muffin and I was literally upset when I finished it. It was SO good, so fresh. They are usually pretty busy, but the customer service is so great and the restaurant is so homie and cozy! Loved everything! read more

Eddys was one of my favorite place for diner food. I understand that Due to covid, they didn't have all the stuff to make French toast, but they failed to tell me that they ran out of French toast until I tried to change the order to a take out order. The steak was suppose to be medium but it was overcooked to a point that it was basically beef jerky. Home fries was all soggy like a hotels all you can eat breakfast. I was out in Saugus to visit a friend, the two of us both being big fans of diner food. We found Eddys online by searching for diners, hopped into our car and drove through the winding, tree lines rows of Saugus and Malden in search of food. We had questions about the difference between the banana bread, and bananas Foster variations of French toast. Rather than ask any questions, we just ordered one of each, because YOLO. It turns out that both are exactly what they sound like. The banana bread French toast was disappointing. It was French toast sourced from slices of banana bread. It looked OK, tasted OK, and came with too little syrup. The bananas Foster French toast was more of what you would expect. It was traditional French toast, buried under a glaze of caramel and sliced bananas. It came with no syrup, because it needed none. It was pretty as a picture, tasted great, and was all I dreamt, and more. The service was great, friendly, and personable. They were attentive, and available when we needed them, and they made it easy to pay, and be on our way. read more

You already know what to expect-- and that is exactly Eddy's charm. Sunday at noon and there was no wait; we were warmly greeted and told to sit wherever we'd like. We just wanted a couple of standard cheeseburgers. Nothing crazy, but a fair step above drive through, and Eddy's delivered. Our burgers came cooked to our desired medium, and they had a good crust around the edges that can only come from that well-seasoned diner flat too grill. The fries were decent but otherwise unremarkable. What will bring us back is the accessibility, lack of crazy lines, great prices, and the prompt and friendly service we received. I can't even believe my experience at this restaurant. I went today with family and honestly I couldn't understand how they're still in business. I got the eggs Benedict and the sauce was cold !! Came here last weekend around 930 or so in the morning. Wasn't feeling too good but ordered the banana bread french toast and it was amazing, well what I had of it was. My boyfriend got some french toast and an omelette. He said the food was good too. Service was excellent, waitress made sure we had what we needed and wasn't bothering us. read more

I just had a quick meal at Eddy's in Malden. Very expensive for the quality and amount of food. I got a chicken parm sub 7.25 it was horrilbe. the chicken was under cooked and very fatty. The sauce was horrible. For 3.25 you can get a handle full of fries. If you order the fries they don't give you chips that come with it. The place needs a real cleaning. Its dingy and the service is nothing special. The 2 men in the kitchen don't even smile or say hello. The restaurant was very slow at lunch time. I have come into this diner several times with a group of friends on various occasions. I don't know that we have ever been acknowledged AT ALL any of the times that we have come in. Trying to get someone's attention is nearly impossible. My boyfriend asked if his eggs could be "poached medium". And the waitress literally just said "no the cook won't do that." The location works for my group so we tried going in again. I asked for a strawberry waffle which then came out with 2 single strawberries cut up on it. We tried again this past weekend and someone in the group asked for a banana to be cut and put in his oatmeal. He was again told no we WONT do that. What happened to the customer is always right?! I wanted to like this place badly, yet there was nothing about it that made it worthwhile. Sure, I can walk there in 5 minutes, but I can also walk to Dunkin Donuts in the same amount of time, and it would be more satisfying. I went here this morning excited at the prospect of a great breakfast, and that was FAR from what I had. While the waitresses were cool and all (hence the two stars), the food was quite underwhelming. I ordered a meat lover's omelet and coffee. I swear I have had better coffee in hospital cafeterias. It was very watered down tasting and adding a splash of cream only made it worse. The omelet was fine, but certainly not anything to get all excited about. I make better ones at home. The home fries were strange; they were crisp in some areas, mushy in others and they tasted like cardboard.
