I've used UTA the whole time I've been here so far…read moreand it definitely has parts where they could have more buses as the wait is about 60 minutes down in Draper at places (I'm looking at you 126 Bus). A lot of the route stops have no sun shade it's just a sign. They could use some kind of sun detector in the summer. But the buses and trains are all really clean and don't stink (I'm looking at you LA) and the staff have all been very friendly. I had one of the UTA on demand driver actually help me set up the app. They have their own police and they were all over the trains hopping the cars. So far other than the wait they all are very good at being on time. They have consistently been on time. The staff also (and yea that their jobs I get it but still) very ADA friendly. They have a service to pick up and drop off handicap. They drivers have been very nice and helpful when I've seen them interact with handicap people. Definitely a worthwhile option over Uber and Lyft.

I don't normally ride the Trax, but when I do this is the station I park my car at…read more It's easily accessible from State Street, and if you don't have a car the bus drops you off right out front. Trains are pretty close to the scheduled times for leaving, and arrivals which is a blessing not having to wait for long periods of time. There are a couple large apartment complexes that have been built near the station, and the entrance (if you didn't know where it was) you would miss it. There is no sign from the Main Street into the station parking lot. The parking lot is very rarely full so there is plenty of parking. I just wish they had covered parking, especially in the winter. If you're hungry when you get off the train, Arctic Circle is right next door, or you can walk across the street to Joe Morley's, if you like barbecue. Post office is next to Arctic Circle. As far as the station goes, no complaints, pretty nice trax system that our county put in to help with public transportation, and to help take cars off the road.

One can use the light rail to get to the special buses they run during the ski season. Also, the fare you pay on the uta trax can be applied to the ski bus fare just show the driver your trax ticket. Also within central downtown salt lake city there is a free fare zone for those who want to do things like shopping

Reminded me strongly of the…read moreone in Sacramento in that you pay a flat $2.50 for your ticket and that lets you ride any line in any direction for 2.5 hours with everything converging on a downtown hub, but this one seems less sprawling and better laid out, also zero ghetto folk blasting awful local rap out of their phones and getting into petty squabbles. And not nearly as crowded either, I was going in and out of downtown on a weekend and there was plenty of seating each time. Ticket machines at every station that take credit cards no matter how far out and helpful staff / conductors with pleasant attitudes. Downtown "free fare zone" where you can enter and exit with no ticket is very small, but it does save you a kinda long walk in the cold going between the Intermodal station (Greyhound / Amtrak / Frontrunner) and the courthouse / library area of downtown.

So the wise city fathers (and mothers) decided to dedicate a trolley just for getting around town. Park City's downtown lists 64 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. The town does boast a racy past and its rise to international resort status began during the 2002 Winter Olympics. There is a lot of dining here in town, which is where it is nice to have a free trolley to hop on after a big dinner and some fine wine. www.Utah.com said "Park City is rumored to have more restaurants per capita than any other city." There are over 100 restaurants to chose from in this small resort town. Which is why I got on in late September 2020. I was even surprised to see it operating since my hotel told me it was out of commission due to Covid. But on Sundays, at least when I visited, Main Street was closed for a type of street fair and, lo and behold, the trolley was running! Very happy too, because by riding it up and down, I got a great overview of the town and figured out where I wanted to go and which yummy places I might eat at. The ladies driving the trolley that day were very nice and courteous. They seem to have that valuable knack for working with the public and answering the same ole questions from tourists like me. But be advised: due to the pandemic, City Hall is considering suspending the trolley service amid a set of broad transit cutbacks recently proposed. "City Hall has proposed a dramatic reduction in transit service for the winter as officials prepare for the first full ski season during the spread of the novel coronavirus. There are expectations across Park City that tourism numbers will drop sharply during the ski season, leading to the blueprints to reduce transit service by 35% across the system," said a story on www.parkrecord.com. We were staying about half a mile from the resort and traveling with our four-year-old daughter plus all the ski gear that comes with a family trip. Not having to haul skis, boots, and bags back and forth every day made everything so much easier. The location was incredibly convenient and the space was clean and quiet.
