And parking is horrible, but there are a few parking lots near by ($ you have to pay ) We had a party of 16 today. And although they accepted our party, the locations can not comfortably accommodate 16 people since they don't have traditional tables, they have section couches with low tables. They have a few high tables but they are not compatible with the high chairs. So our party was scattered. Unfortunately today it was super cold outside, and the heater was not working, so we was super super cold! I decided to check rooftop out with my friend. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. It wasn't crowded at all, maybe because it rained but I didn't mind. That gave me and my friend more time to catch up. The food was good I had the steak quesadilla and the steak was cooked to perfection and had a great flavor. My friend had the chicken skewers and he said they were also good. I had a coconut mango mojito it was good. My friend ordered a dirty martini and he was scared they wouldn't make it right. The food however was disappointing, ordered the fundido And there was no cheese inside, a lot of lobster meat on top with salsa no actual cheese. My friend ordered the steak and I ordered the lobster tail. The steak she ordered medium rare as you can see there is no pink in sight, it was well done. Better than expected! It was a slight struggle to get a brunch reservation using the pulsd voucher I bought but it all worked out. The staff was nice, gorgeous decor, yummy food, and the bottomless drinks were not watered down, which I appreciate. The scrambled eggs didn't have much flavor but I loved the granola and yogurt. Here is why I didn't give the 5 stars. The bouncer was super extra for no reason. There were no reservations available online so we called to see what if we walked in? The person on the phone said sure we can accommodate you. Now we get there and without even greeting us the bouncer/doorman said we're full, you can't come in. Without even looking inside behind him. My friend and I looked and meanwhile the bar had so many seats and a half empty bar. We said "not even the bar and he immediately said "no" without looking. As we're waiting for the elevator he said wait let me check. We stopped by mid afternoon on sept 10th and it was not crowded at all. I loved the decor but it seemed about 80% done, like there could be more done to take it over the top. We ordered a sangria tower to share and I had a lobster roll. It was cold and very tiny (even for a lobster roll), and came with ruffles on the side. For the price not worth it in my opinion. Most new places are known for the aesthetics and photo ops. This place for surely didn't lack in any of those areas! It's located on the 29th floor at the Sheraton Hotel. They are pretty strict at the door. Had to pay a $10 cover charge to enter. They take and hold the photo ID of each individual entering and they also hold a card on file. As soon as the elevator doors open you are greeted to flowers all over the walls & a chair for photos. Entering there are so many colors, lights, great music and a beautiful scenery of the high rises. They have a phone booth for photos, a photo swing and more. My friend and I were seated and the waiter was attentive. I ordered a Moscow mule and my friend ordered a Mojito and we both thought our drinks were too sweet and then soon after our drinks melted and they were extremely watery. I had the ceviche it wasn't what I expected but it was okay... my friend had the Mac n cheese with lobster! IT WAS AMAZING!!!! 10/10! There were several other seats left open, and I asked for it. They said they were waiting for a reservation. On Thanksgiving we decided to grab a bite to eat before heading back to our hotel room for the night. A few of us chose appetizers and I chose the flourless cake. When I inquired about the deserts, the waitress/hostess briefly described everything but told us her favorite was the chocolate cake because she's a lover of chocolate; so we selected the flourless chocolate cake. It was rich with chocolate, icing, and a long black hair. As I ate the cake in this dimly lit room setting, I thought I had seen something on the side of whipped cream. But in examining it briefly again, thought that was nothing so i continued eating small bites while examining every bite along the way. About the fifth bite into the cake, I noticed something stringing from my spoon to the plate of whipped cream. As I lowered the spoon and grabbed the object, I found a long black hair approx 5 inches long. HOW DISGUSTING, IT JUST MADE MY STOMACH TURN! I immediately got the attention of our waitress and informed of my finding. I told her that her hair was in the cake. She looked at it for a brief second and asked me "Do you want another piece?". I quickly replied "No, and I won't be paying for that piece either!". She said ok and then asked the others in my party did they need anything else. There was no apology, no empathy, and no compassion she just walked off when everyone declined while leaving the hairy chocolate plate on the table. I was in shock. She didn't care about our situation nor how this situation looked to us. Clearly I have health issues as I was in a motorized wheelchair when I arrived. We all knew that the hair was not mine because I have less than 2 inches of hair growth posted treatments. It's like the young lady could cared less about us as people and more about the place of business because she was just trying to offer more for the solution. Satisfying a consumer after an incident should be the number one priority and first is the up apology. There's nothing more annoying than not saying I'm Sorry! Isn't that the first thing your parents taught you when you were out of line? After the hairy plate sat there for a fI've minutes, we called the waitress and ask her to remove the plate and bring our check. Although she did remove the cake from the bill, she charged us for the other foods and 15% gratuity. Supposedly the gratuity is automatically applied to all patrons regardless of group size; there were 4 in our party. Needless to say, I WILL NOT FREQUENT THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN! The decor is an IG influencer's Pinterest board. It's pretty but it's not the type of place that fits in with the financial district. I think it would look nice during the warmer months, but I'm here in November so the entire thing was enclosed with thick plastic so there were no rooftop views to speak of. The drinks are typical overpriced NYC prices. A bottle of beer is $8-9. But with taxes and surcharges it is around $10. Make sure you check your bill as they also auto charge 18% gratuity which is incredibly tacky. It doesn't say that on both receipts so there's a high chance you'll double tip. Food: Drinks look beautiful! However, unless you have a HUGE sweet tooth then don't get these drinks. I would say the coconut mango drink was less sweet than the Frose but still up there in sweetness. As for the Frose, I thought it came with boba (it said it on the menu), but as you can see, no boba. Sad--since that's why I got the drink. I didn't snap a picture but we only got the chips and guac as food -- they were fine. Guac needed salt and lime, and the chips were ok. Service:Good. People were nice, but srsly did they just forget my boba? Ambiance: Pretty! And honestly very good music! Oh! And they offer hookah as well (cash only). I didn't try it, so not sure how good it is. We paid $50 for a reservation and were unable to sit next to each other. The botched hostess who is clearly mad at the world, was rude, aggressive, and unwilling to listen to what we were trying to say. Why would two people from the same party be unable to sit next to each other? Their response, including the manager who was also rude, was "this has always worked for us." The hostess also kept saying that we needed to move because she had reservations...umm what? We also made a reservation and were charged for it so how does that make sense. We will not be back. I'll keep that hostess in my prayers and pray that Highkey Rainforest Rooftop pay her enough to get her situation sorted because I would be mad if I looked like that too. And of course they were unable to refund our $50 deposit even though they were the ones who were unable to accommodate two people of the same party sitting together. The manager said "well it says 3 times when booking that the deposit is non refundable." We weren't asking for a refund because we didn't feel like coming- we had already drove an hour to get there, paid for parking, and shown up. We were asking for a refund because their service was terrible. EDITED TO ADD: in response to the managers review, our seating limit had NOT expired and there were at least 3 other empty tables that I saw. Our party was already seated, so it clearly was not an issue of not arriving on time. We had already sat down and ordered food. In fact, the waitress came over after we had gotten up from our table and were speaking to the "manager," and was annoyed when we told her to cancel the order we had just put in. No alternative arrangements were made and nobody from the staff went above and beyond. We even asked if we could sit at the bar so that we could actually sit next to each other and the answer was no. We asked if we could sit at a different table so we could be next to each other and the answer was no. It's pretty sad that as a business they are unable to take accountability for their employees behavior. Because had they checked the cameras they would see that we arrived, were seated, ordered our food, and then were told that we cannot sit next to each other and need to move, which led to us leaving. Worst experience ever!! Wanted to try this place, we ordered 2 drinks and the bartender started pouring something completely different . When I asked he said they were out of Bacardi so they used the well rum. That's fine. I totally understand. My partner ordered one of their drinks with vodka, and he started pouring apple vodka which was not in the description. They have good lobster tacos and generous sized drinks that have a good amount of liquor. Between the service fee, auto gratuity, and the audacity to ask for additional gratuity it's grossly overpriced. I suggest paying your servers a good wage so that maybe they'd like to engage with the patrons. We had to flag down a host/server for our check and another one to pick up the credit card. The place was completely empty and the bar area was not busy at all. The lack of effort to accommodate the event was non existent. Mind you the coordinator of the event spoke with management to ensure everything was good to go for our high volume agency. To make matters worse, there was no communication with security on the first floor, who continued sending ppl upstairs so everyone was cramped at the elevator landing on the rooftop with limited a/c.
