So this place has very long lines almost every Saturday around midnight until they close around 3:30am. If your here on a holiday or event weekend like Labor Day or pride or Halloween it could take an hour and a half. The line is fun but yeah it seems like forever to get in. I normally seem to get inside here after 2am so I can't really speak much for the drink prices but I think they are on par with most of the gay bars in the 4th street area. The crowd especially the main dance floor tends to be a mixed crowd after hours with more top 40 dance music and the lower level the basement tends to play more I dunno I call it circuit music or after 2am music but I guess you could say it's deep house. The basement is like you'd expect hot and steamy with lots of shirtless guys and dark areas to the back and side with seating. The main floor is sizable with a stage that if go early enough there are drag shows and all kinds of contests. There's a mezzanine above that looks down into the dance floor. There's also an outdoor patio area that is is multi level as well that plays different music. Like any place where there are allot of people in close proximity be aware of your surroundings and watch your drinks and pockets. Also there's a cover too that is a little more than Rain or OCH but you are paying to enter one if the larger gay venues in Austin. One more thing alcohol sales stop at 2am but if your from the western US this is pretty standard except in Nevada.

Beyond disgusted and shock, the bartender stating no alcohol past 2am. Got here at 2:30am expecting to buy alcohol until 5am only to be told no alcohol after 2am despite closing at 5am. Here sober, paying $21.99 for cover. There should have illustrated sign before paying or stated hold before paying cover.

I enjoyed the time I had here. I came on a friday night and a few of us were visiting from California. It was one of the few places that had business and people around town. We visited two other places and couldn't stay longer than 30 minutes but this was definitely a heart part of town. If I was in town and had no plans friday night, I'd come here again.

I see it's billed a lot as a "gay bar", but from talking to the super friendly staff, (Hi, Elaine!) it really is more of an inclusive bar.

My favorite part was the DJ was also playing electric guitar to accompany some of the songs in his lineup. It was really cool. I've never seen a DJ do that before. But it was more important to the Powder Room that the next group got their table on time, apparently. The drinks took soooo long, we got ONE round in, and were asked to leave the table before our second round arrived. They had no issues when taking our second round order while we were seated, but we were asked to leave the table immediately after. This round also took forever and we drank it standing, crowded, in everyone's way. I was embarrassed as it was my birthday, and I was taking a group of 7 other people - new to Austin - here to check out what was one of my favorite spots. I was bragging about it and chose it over other spots on their list. They hated it. I'm disappointed. Our server was great to us and apologetic about the service bar.

We weren't looking for much by way of menu just a few snacks or small bites for Girl Dinner. We found just that here. The Sumac and pepper popcorn was to die for! I really don't drink that much or often, but decided to have one. The drink list is extensive, but very organized by era. I decided to go for the Zombie. My server, Noah encouraged my audacity! I can't remember whether it was described as dramatic as it showed up, but let me tell you there was drama! It was served in a flaming skull, garnished with beautiful flowers and fresh fruit, and filled to the brim with God knows how much alcohol and juice, but it was a time! To heighten the experience, he sprinkled something in a shaker and the flames just erupted! The whole restaurant stopped and I cackled! To put out the flame, Noah gave one dramatic clap, and the flame disappear disappeared! I want to thank Noah and the team for encouraging my ridiculousness and delivering me an excellent craft drink with all the drama I deserved and could ever ask for! 10/10! Gotta go back to see how much more ridiculous I can go! Can't stop now! Join me!

Well, we didn't have a reservation and we were able to get sat right away. I forget the name of the individual who assisted us by placing our order. I ended up getting the espresso martini, and then my other person got an old-fashioned. I was asked if I wanted a shot of Bailey's with the espresso martini and that to me would've been way too much. The martini itself was almost kind of smoky. Not your typical kind of very crisp espresso martini had a nice foam on top of it. We also ended up ordering the sliders to go along as we had dinner reservations, and that bacon jam on there is magnificent. The sliders were all juicy and very well put together bun was very soft and the flavor of everything was really good. I would totally go back just for the sliders. Overall the service was great. The views were also quite stunning of downtown and the ambience overall which is very chill. Located off Anderson Mill in the corner of a strip mall is a bookshelf with a door on the right side. If you cannot figure out the entrance, there is a doorbell to ring as well. I believe it is owned by the same people who own The Mill bar right next door, which makes it feel like a cool bonus space. My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there.
