Thank you Highland Automotive! I went in Friday evening after the clutch on my Civic Si went mid drive. I had no idea the job would be so expensive but these guys did everything to assure me it would be fixed and that they would help me as much as possible. Upon initial estimate I asked if they minded if I called Honda for a quote before I stayed, they were completely understanding and of course came in lower than Hondas price. By Tuesday my car was as good as new, and they kept their word of cutting ever more off of the price when I picked the car up! I will be going here for everything from now on! read more

This place is top notch. I switched from a pretty decent shop and went to Eddy after meeting him. He is a good and smart guy that tells me the problems and what is needed to solve them. He always shows me the broken parts that needed to be replaced. Good at calling you back to arrange a time to take your car. I read the bad reviews and one is a bold lie. Eddie does not have a beard and is very human and personable. He is young and has a great attitude. He earned my repeat business. If I have to pay someone, I want to pay someone who wants my business and I can trust. read more

This is a good shop, Eddy is a very professional auto technician. Every sing time my fiance and I have car problems we go to these guys and they either: 1.) fix the problem with reasonable and transparent pricing 2.) give us a referral to a specialist They have been fairly good about sticking to their estimates, the only exception being a time that they needed to buy an additional part. But even that time, Eddy called us up and explained it to us before buying the replacement. This shop continues to be our first choice for most kinds of car trouble. read more

The service was really quick (I only waited for about 20-30 minutes) and they were really upfront about their prices. However, a full synthetic oil change was somewhat more expensive than I anticipated (another place told me it was $60 while these guys charged for $75) I didn't really mind the extra money, since I originally thought they would have the full service. Turns out, as a surprise to me, they didn't do any other checks on the car to see if anything needed replacing, not even to see if the tires needed rotating. The other $60 place said they would do full checks, so this was probably the only disappointing part about these guys. I feel this is something that should be mandatory. This place is constantly bustling with activity, but that's obviously a testament to how great they are. I don't often leave reviews. In general, I loathe them because I've been let down way too many times by a highly recommended Yelp review to count, but this place is aces in my book. They are all business, in and out. In fact I was just there this afternoon waiting for a repair and overheard a customer exclaim how shocked she was at how quickly they were able to complete her repair. Tip#1: There are seats outside but on a hot 80 degree day like today, go inside and relax in the comfortable padded chairs, kickback and watch the TV in the airconditioned front area. The nice gentleman will even let you control the remote if you smile and ask politely *wink* Service and people are stellar. I'll be back soon to get my AC flushed. read more

They will screw you out of your money. They messed up my car and had the nerve to tell me they don't know what to do??? Not recommended if you really want some good service, go down the block on highland ave. there are better services then this one. Not a friendly neighborhood service company they mess up your car, so you can keep coming to them??? Very sad business. Please be advise. read more

This place was really small and I sat outside to wait for my inspection sticker while it was drizzling. They were pretty quick, it took about 20 minutes. The reason I took off 2 stars is because they charged me $35 for the state inspection sticker when it was supposed to be $29. Not sure if I would return. read more

Again and again, Highland Automotive is a dependable place for me to service my car. I am thrilled by the professionalism, kindness, and excellent work. My car is on her last legs-11 years old and up there in mileage. Eddie will do what he can to address the issues at hand, keeping my safety and comfort in mind, but not capriciously fixing things to rack up a bill. After moving to Medford several years ago and trying out a few different auto-repair services in the area, I have settled on this little shop and I've used them probably about 6 times so far. The first time was when my transmission blew on a Saturday morning. Our tow guy recommended this place so we went there. By the end of the day on Saturday, even with no appointment, the car was fixed. Granted the transmission blew again a year later but without me even saying a word about what I felt I was entitled to, the shop put in yet another transmission totally free of charge. Here are the reasons I have made this place my shop. 1. Their hourly labor rate is lower than others in the area. 2. Good hours. Open on Saturday. If you are like me and work late hours, it can sometimes be difficult picking up your repaired car late in the evening. Well this shop is at a gas station so as long as the gas station is open, you can get your car. 3. Eddie. Eddie. Eddie. This guy runs the shop and is awesome. You will never have to worry about work being done to your car without your authorization. You will never have to track him down to check the status of your car. You will never be surprised that your final bill is signifcantly higher than the estimate Eddie quotes you. You will never have to worry about unnecessary repairs. Eddie will always tell you what you truly need for your car and what you can get away with not getting fixed or putting off for another time. I've gone to him because a check engine light came on several times, then turned off. Eddie did his tests but wasn't able to determine the exact cause at the time but gave me a list of possibilities but he told me that he did not want to start fixing all of the possible things without knowing for sure what was wrong so he told me to just bring it back when the light came on. I got my car back and wasn't even charged for the time Eddie spent with it. Last time around when one my cars needed repairs I told Eddie that I was at the point where I was debating whether to scrap the car or not, Eddie kindly did a thorough exam of my car, free of charge, in order to figure out what repairs he could see coming up down the road and tune-up options if I wanted to extend the car's life for just a bit longer. I've used a lot of mechanics over the years and with every single one, there was something that was a turn off (some more than others) whether it was price, communication, speed of service, quality of service, or just a feeling of distrust or being scammed. This place, and Eddie in particular, is different and I don't have one complaint and there is not even the smallest part of me that distrusts Eddie or the shop. This was a great find. read more

DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE. I got a state inspection done here right after moving from another state. They were totally unprofessional, yelling loudly, joking, hanging out, and leaning all over my car. I wasn't there too long, but they certainly could have done it more quickly if they weren't screwing around. I would NOT have been comfortable leaving my car there. Afterwards, the "boss" told me it would be $35, even though state inspections are a flat $29. I asked why, and he said it was $5 for putting my new Massachusetts plates on. I said, no, I could have done it myself and didn't ask them to, so he said "ooooooh, okay, no charge for you then," like he was doing me a big favor. He still charged me $30 instead of $29, I saw. I'm not sure if he was trying to take advantage of my being a woman or being new to the area. Do YOURSELF a favor and don't bother with Highland Automotive. Crooks. read more

I bought a car at Highland Auto a week after I had the car the check engine light came on. I took it back and they put a meter on it and turned it off. With in 2 days the light was back on. I did this about 3 times only to have the light come back on. They sent me to there auto repair place Red Lion auto repair which is their repair place. The guy there told me it was a air leak and would fix it. I dropped the car off on a Monday and picked it up that night. I put a tweak behind my tire and they never moved my car the whole day they had it. Then I took it back about a week later. They told me it was fixed but with in a couple of days the light was back on. Now this is 2 days so far with out a car. Then they tell me I need to bring it back again and leave it for a couple of days. So I dropped it off again this past Monday. I called Tuesday and they tell me it's going to be a few more days. I can not be with out a car that long I need to go to work. I think again they never touch my car. So I told them I didn't trust that car repair guy because every thing he has told me to this point was an out and out lie. With that that told me now they are not going to fix my car because I said I don't trust the repair guy. Now I ask you would you? This is going to have to go to court now to get them to pay for this repair. I will take it to a reliable place and send them the bill. If they don't pay then we will go to court. I will never ever buy anything there again. I don't think anyone else should either. I don't think they stand behind what they sell at least not mine. This is just an excuse for not wanting to repair my car because I think they know it is a major job and don't want to do it. In my opinion it is a fly by night operation and do not care once they get the money.\ read more
