Arrived to pick up pre ordered donuts. They said they didn't have the order and that's why I hadn't gotten notified to pick up pre paid order. While speaking to the rude woman working there, I glanced to the right on the edge of the counter for anyone to grab, my box and bag of items. Woman states that I could have just grabbed them. Highland donut shop is probably one of the best donut shops in the Bakersfield area just having opened up a short time ago they survive the virus scare by closing down and then reopening back up again. I went to buy a breakfast sandwich for my daughter and the person helping said there was a wait and then immediately after another worker yelled at me saying the wait was at least thirty minutes and was extremely rude. I've lived in this neighborhood almost all my life and was excited to have a donut shop near by. I will never come back and will tell everyone I know how horribly I was treated. read more

Nothing extra special about this shop, which is why I hadn't rated before but our experience on Saturday was disappointing. There was trash surrounding the business. Our order was fine. We sat down to eat and a man with some sort of mental handicap came in. He was served and sat down where he repeatedly and loudly talked about someone getting shot at the circle k. Was disturbing to my daughter. We were getting ready to leave and she said she had to go to the restroom. I asked the staff if she could use the restroom as we had walked and were 20 minutes from home. They refused and said the bathrooms were not for the public. We had to go to JoJo's, who allowed bathrooms for paying customers. I bought a cookie so my daughter could use the restroom. I don't think we'll be going back. read more

I went in today I was sent the wrong address for an order from a different donut shop and asked the lady there and she constantly kept talking over me "I don't have any orders, we don't sell cakes" like I understand it the attitude I got was horrible. The best ham and cheese croissant as well as incredible doughnuts, I had the vanilla cream filled chocolate covered doughnut and it was so light and airy, and the flavors were to die for,.
