First time to visit here. Service was great and friendly. They have enough TV's for everyone. They even asked if i wanted to watch a certain game, they would change the channel for me. I have the Memphis fries no Cole slaw the Bbq was to my liking is was good. Wife had the 6 inch Taco strom and said it was good as well. My daughter has the chief Salad and said it was real good. loved the atmosphere. I will try to go back for a burger when I get a chance. read more

Small hometown bar and kitchen. Very nice servers and bartenders. Though I hear their turnover rate is quite high for their employees. The food was great I had the pork sandwich and fries but from what I heard from other guests the burgers are the way to go. The owners have a very extensive liquor selection if you're looking to drink allocated stuff by the glass and not the bottle. read more

Excellent server! She was new , only a few days, but extremely disappointed with charges! Was over charged for beer, she corrected, said bartender was mistaken. Au jus dip was about a half a shot glass for a 9" Philly. Asked for more, got an up charge for another half ounce. Special wasn't so special after all. Never again for me! read more

Tonight was a step back in time as we visited HIGHLAND INN . The decor was a welcoming feel of vintage with a new spin. It is across the street from Highland School. We were greeted with friendly welcome, glad your here and a nice smile. We sat in the bar area where there was an array of round oak tables along one side of the bar area. There is also a very nice family room. Now for the food, we had a nice discussion with a member of staff about our meal choices. I chose BYOB (build your own burger) and even though it wasn't on the menu , after discussing my preference toppings, she smile and I said I have those ingredients available and would love to make that for you. So I ordered my favorite Angus burger with blue cheese and portabella mushrooms. It came with a side of waffle fries. My first bite had my taste buds dancing. Such flavors, I am still thinking about this wonderful burger. I was very happy with our experience and look forward to going back. read more

I wish I could give less than one star! This has been a favorite for my husband and I - great food and very nice waitresses. Tonight we had dinner there - when we went to our car, a man ran up and screamed and cursed at us. He said that was his parking place ( it wasn't marked ). We have never been talked to like this before. We won't go back unless there are new owners!! If I owned a restaurant I'd park far away so patrons could park nearby. But that's not the point as much as how over the top RUDE he was! read more

The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The young lady that took my order was very helpful with menu suggestions because this was my first visit. I ordered a Greek salad and a small meat lover pizza and both were excellent and full of flavor. I will definitely return when visiting the area. read more

I remember going here when I was a little kid with my parents. I always loved their fried cheese balls then. I live like right next to the place now and went there recently (it's been close to 20 years), ordered the cheese balls... and they tasted exactly like I remember all those years ago. No joke. It was unreal. Not only that but I also ordered a philly steak sandwich that was seriously the BEST I have ever had in my entire life. This is a great, old school gem with the same amazing food I remember from my childhood. Glad to see they're still around! read more

Not a bad little spot. Went on a Sunday and ordered the Bloody Mary (came in a standard glass rather than the big fish bowl as seen on TV). Food was good and the waitresses were friendly but it took a long time to get our food. Granted, they were busy, but the service was still slow compared to other taverns on busy nights (like Hilltop). read more

We stopped by the newly remodeled highland inn and found the decor beautiful, welcoming and warm. It looks like the kind of place to get a Martini, glass of wine or a nice scotch before ordering a mouthwatering steak. That's what it looks like but in reality, the menu doesn't match the decor. If you are looking for Olive Garden style, look somewhere else. The Highland Inn has been located at the corner of First Ave and Kratzville forever, but it was my first time in. And the place blew me away! Lots of woodwork gave the place a great feel. Family room or bar area ... take your pick! Friendly staff very helpful! The Highland Inn is not trying to be something it is not ... it is a great little neighborhood bar! In that sense, the food was great! Quick and easy and more choices than I expected! Innovative way of serving the food made it all the more enjoyable! Totally recommend!! read more

One of my new favorite places when I come back to my hometown. Did not realize it was under the new ownership of the Millers. They have continued with the excellence in food quality and customer service lead by their wonderful daughter Alyssa. TBone steak is marvelous as is the tenderloin sandwich my son ordered. The service is terrible. I see the waitress about 1 time per hour. When asking for food modifications they just say "no". The food is good, but I will not be returning based on the service. I have never been there for less than 2 hours. The appetizers come out at the same time as the meal. I wish I had 4 hands so I could give this restaurant 4 thumbs down. read more

Last Thursday, we had a reservation for 12 with the understanding that some more might join us. When they did, the hostess would not move a table to our group and instead put one group at the bar and another in the other room which is where we should have been to start with and asked for. We got there at 5:00p and it took waitress over a half hour to get our drink orders. Then another half hour to take our food order, then it was another half hour to get our food after everyone else is the place was served, even the later ones in our party got served before us. Food was OK but my cod sandwich was half the size of Arby's at more than more than twice the price. Very slow, rude service. I've been to Highland Inn my first and last time. Very nice dining area and bar. So nice, that I was disappointed in the menu. The place strikes me as a nice place to eat, but all they serve is sandwiches, burgers and fried food. They have a nice enough facility to be serving steak or other desirable dishes. I paid $31.00 for two sandwiches and an appetizer. Overall I was disappointed because of the very poor menu. read more

No thank you. The parking lot Nazi was unbelievably rude. Parked, went inside to find only one table occupied and left. I certainly hope they learn a lesson and stop badgering people in the parking lot ( a lot of folks must use their space for the pizza shop). I know that MY FAMILY will never return. read more
