This place is usually quite fast, but not today, I believe they were short handed, plus it seems a lot of people's registrations were expiring this month. As always, the end of the month is the worst time to go to any emissions testing center. Anyways, to be fair they only had 2 gentlemen working this afternoon. The line was outside the gate on the road. I'm glad I left work early to go, I was there for about 44 minutes. Thank you for being friendly and professional, I give these guys credit. I got there about 3pm and left around 4pm, my truck was done but I had to wait for one of them to check me out. They were busy! No wait time to speak of. Pulled in and pulled up to the sign telling us to wait until an attendant signaled us over. He did after a couple of minutes. He checked the car for the information he needed. Then we were ready to pull in and for them to start the emissions check. It took a short while and we were done. There is a service charge for using a credit card to pay. We passed!!! read more

I came by this location last week because my vehicle registration for my 2021 Jeep stated that emissions testing was required. When I pulled up, the gentleman took my car information and let me know that emissions shouldn't be required given the age of my Jeep. He could have just waved me through, done the service and taken my money. I'm grateful for honest folks! I'm taking it up with the DMV, and will definitely be returning with our other vehicles that require emissions testing. read more

I will go here first next time I need an emissions test. I went to the Parker location (much closer to my house) and after sitting in line for about 40 minutes a guy came by and said about an hour. I figured it would be just as fast to wait, but after an hour they said several or not that day. So it was my only day off, and I decided to drive to Castle Rock. I drove there and waited in line for less than 20 minutes. They were very quick to get my car in and William was very helpful and polite. This was my first experience with emissions testing in Colorado, so lesson learned. read more

Parker Rd facility, bad experience. Tester got mad because I have a locking gas cap, told me it was illegal to have it. I told him to do his job and stop playing gas cap cop. The guy that collected the fees was no better with his frowning face. A one star is to good for this place. read more

Brought my car here to take an emissions test arrive 30 minutes prior to close would not let you in past 5pm even though they're open till 5:30pm. No one was of any help. Staff was very rude. read more

DON'T GO HERE! They closed over a half hour early on the vague and unconvincing response "orders" when I asked them at 5pm why I couldn't join the line. And their wait time said 0 minutes wait online but there were 6 cars in line when I got there. Refreshed the page and it said the exact same thing. Absolutely terrible to drive 20 miles after leaving work early to then be turned away because they don't accurately update their wait times and can close early on a whim- I mean, "orders." read more

WARNING: NO NOT GO TO THIS EMISSIONS TESTING FACILITY! THEY ARE COSTING ME $2,000 My neighborhood Emission Facility: "We are receiving a lot of cars from Castle Rock that are wrongfully tested. I am sorry and understand your frustration but we can not do anything about this. We have no idea what those guys are thinking down there." I work in Castle Rock and live in Highlands Ranch. Went to this Emission Testing Facility in Castle Rock and they had tested my car with the wrong test. I went to my neighborhood testing facility the next day. They said they can not do anything because the test is locked in as a OBD instead of a Dyno test. Now I have to talk to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to get this changed. If the head of this division does not switch the test then I will be forced to make repairs on my vehicle that wouldn't have been necessary if my car was tested correctly in the first place. I can not stress this enough, DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! read more

I wish I had a better experience here but I really didn't. This was the first time I had an emissions test alone and I was new to the whole thing. When I would ask a clarifying question, they would get frustrated. I would understand if there was a long line and it was busy but there were maybe 2 people waiting. At the end they told me they couldn't do it because of a computer error on my end. They handed me a paper telling me "just give it to them and they'll take care of it". I wasn't told who 'they' was or what was wrong. I came home after having to figure out what was wrong on my own and had my dad come test the computer. Everything was working fine so I went to Parker. They were able to run my emissions test with no errors at all. I'm not entirely sure why it wasn't working but I know it wasn't on my end as I passed my emissions. I wish they would have been kinder, more informative and overall more put together :( read more

I came here for a VIN verification and they would not help me, they had no one waiting nor helping one person but said if I paid for an emissions test, they could do it for me. But since, I wasn't paying customer, they refused to do so! It is their obligation to do VIN VERIFICATION, but they are only out to get your money!!! Nothing worse than a government mandated business. They can provide horrible customer service and act hostile to customers with no repercussions. I waited 40 minutes, then because I didn't stop at the precise location they wanted me to stop at they took my ticket and made me get back in line and wait another 30 minutes. While in the waiting room another customer came in and immediately said to me that guy out there is a real piece of work. The customer had been treated poorly also. Not sure what their names were, it was the two obese people that helped me. From the start, the guy was already acting like a smartass- Ordering rather than requesting. Lady afterwords who gave me the report, which was a fail- seemed to make it a joke. Shrugged it off and walked away, and the lady said "Common sense kid.". I pull up and there are zero cars under test. Takes quite a while before three guys come rolling out from the back of the garage. My starter is starting to fail and it can take 5-10 attempts before the starter engages to start the vehicle. I let the tech know about this problem. They had no problem starting the vehicle up and running it through the test. After the first portion of the test was complete they shut the vehicle off to finish the remainder of the testing. When they attempted to start the vehicle again they tried twice and it would not start. They pushed the vehicle out of the garage and said it failed the test due to the starter. I told them if they just tried it a few more times it would likely start. They insisted that the vehicle was faulty and would not pass the test. I reached in the window of the vehicle turned the ignition once and it started right up. They then proceeded to write up a failed ticket and wanted to charge me. NOT TODAY!!!! Had a smog test done on 3/22/18. Worst experience ever! The man told me I had to exit my vehicle (later told by someone else that wasn't true), while I had my 2.5 -year-old and 2-month-old with me. I started getting my older boy out, and the man started the car, blowing exhaust at my 2-month-old, whom I had just placed in a stroller at the back of the vehicle. Called Air Colorado Castle Rock on the way home and left a message, asking a manager to return my call. Never received a call back. On a side note, their receipts say "5175 Marshall St, Arvada, CO 8002". What?! read more

Castle Rock has a great emissions testing station. Its a clean and well organized facility. The techs here are courteous. The general manager Greg was very professional. The time to process my vehicle was approximately 15 minutes. Amazing! This was on Friday (6-26-15) morning around 9:00 AM KUDOS!! read more
