I was very disappoited with the washer that came with my apartment. It holds a very small load and at times doesn't work. I was told they put in the wrong machines and they had a "too bad for you"attitude when I asked about them. These apartments are very expensive, if you aren't going to fix the mistake of putting in the wrong washing machines, you should lower the cost of the rent to off set the expensive electric bill from doing multiple loads of laundry. I was told Brian, the apartment manager, would get back to me on my concern, however, I never heard from Brian. read more

Since most of the reviews are in a negative light i thought i'd post one with my positive experience. I have lived at highpoint for 8 months and it has been a fine experience. I think the rent could be a little lower given the square footage and location, but we have been happy with our living arrangements. Parking is extremely convenient Walls may be thin but i guess we have quiet neighbors because we rarely hear them The gym and pool are very convenient and a great amenity The management staff has always been courteous to me/us I think Highpoint has worked through some of their problems in the past as im reading things in some of these posts that have been addressed (e.g. the emailing about packages at the front desks has been very smooth for me and i shop online a lot, the office now has extended hours and is open past 5pm on wednesdays, etc). I'm not sure if we'll renew our lease as we're looking for a little more space but overall it has been a good experience and we would stay if the place was a little bigger or rent was cheaper for 2 br apartments. read more

If you have an option, do not live here unless you want to get ripped off. There is something wrong with the gas meters and the cost of the water is outrageous. My friend who lived in the building next door, would receive a gas bill for $12-$15 for the month. Mine would be $75. We kept our units at the same temp. HP uses a 3rd party biller out of the midwest. You pay higher prices for utilities to have this service. I asked to have my meter looked at and of course there is no one to actually look at it. The water bills are through the roof. Try $90-$100/month. The water must be coming from France. How is that even possible? I have complained several times to the utility company and the management office. The solution is that I moved out. Just remember that you are not paying NSTAR for gas or the City of Quincy for water. There is no one local to help you. The units have central air but there is no active air vent in the master BR. You have to increase the AC and sleep with the BR door open. I asked one of the maintenance guys there about this and he was honest and said that the builder cheaped out. The walls are thin and have woken up to 3am sex. Awesome. For the most part, the office managers have zero empathy for any situation and are by the book. read more

We lived there for 3 years and have no complaints about the property. Any issue we had was resolved immediately, maintenance is phenomenal. People who complain usually do because they don't follow the rules that are in the lease they sign. If you are respectful of the property and your neighbors you have no issue. We got our whole security deposit back when we moved out- and we a a dog and kids. Dog friendly, package concierge, snow removal, T shuttle, pool and a garage parking spot were among our favorite amenities. Rent is a little high and some of my neighbors were annoying if I had to complain. read more

I agree with a lot of the comments here. The apartments are nice and spacious, however, they have very little storage space. I think that the rent is too high given the neighborhood. West Quincy is not considered a nice part of Quincy. There is a decent amount of crime in the area. In fact, a woman was brutally attacked walking near the Quincy Center T one night. The units don't have granite counters, decks or full size washer and dryers. The apartments are not in top notch condition. Some of the apartments have cracks in the tiles and on the counters. Not a big deal, but for the money, they should be in excellent condition. The walls are somewhat thin. It really makes a difference who your neighbors are. Mine are pretty quiet so I guess I am lucky. I can hear the person above me do their business in the restroom though! I am actually embarrassed that I can hear that! It makes me worried that people can hear me! Ugh. Some of this is to be expected with apartment living. I agree that the washer and dryer combo is way too small. I have to do several loads of laundry each week. I also agree that they nickle and dime you for everything. It is strange that we have to pay for water, but I think this is the trend with these type of complexes. They also make you bring your own paper if you want to use the printers in the office center. Seriously? That's a bit much. Recently they ordered each tenant to sign a new lease addendum. Clearly, they are looking to evict residents but didn't have legal grounds to do so. Some of the lease terms are discriminatory. "Tenants are not to cook foods that annoys other tenants." Are you kidding me? Good luck trying to evict someone with that BS clause. This clause clearly targets certain demographics. The new lease terms also list potential move out charges. A dirty kitchen or bathroom floor could cost you anywhere from $20 to $400! Really. Again, I am guessing that some tenant took them to court after they tried to rob him or her on move out charges. Just because it's in a lease, doesn't mean it's legal. My car has also sustained a good amount of damage from the parking lot. I agree with the person who noted extensive scratches and dings consistent with people dragging things across the car as they unload their cars. It's really irritating. The pool is nice, a little on the small side. Although the management limits guests to two per apartment, every weekend there are large parties happening. It hasn't really bothered me, but it's a common occurrence. I have never seen the management do anything about it. The management is not great. I agree that the office staff are quite rude and apathetic. They really don't care about the tenants. Highpoint is a business. It is clear that the goal is to get as much money as possible out of each tenant. Rents go up with each lease renewal and when you move out, they get ridiculous with the fees. Be careful. I am shocked by what I have heard. Be prepared for the management to enter your apartment for "inspections" at least once per month. I have lived in other complexes like Highpoint and have never experienced this before. There were a couple of occasions when I had to tell a friend not to stay with me because she would have to deal with people entering my apartment. Pets have to be locked in a bedroom. They usually give you very little notice about these "inspections" and will not tell you which day they will come in. This is very annoying. I have also had carpet damage due to people coming into my apartment. I am sure I will be charged for this. I would suggest looking around and seeing what's out there for the money. I think you can get more bang for your buck. read more

I lived at Highpoint for 9 months and I could not be happier to be out of there! My experiences with the staff were always nice and friendly. The apartments are a good size with huge bathrooms and great closet space. The pool, tennis courts, computer room, and meeting room are also nice. Unfortunately that is where the good news stops. The Apartment / Building 1. The walls, floors and ceilings are too thin. You can hear your neighbors and your neighbors can hear you. 2. The washer and dryer are far too small and no matter what you do, your clothes come out excessively wrinkled. 3. This may have just been my apartment, but if you have your windows open, the front door shakes loudly and makes a loud whistling sound when the wind blows. 4. The Master Bedroom did not directly receive any of the heat or A/C so the door had to be left open, which is not great in roommate situations. 5. The elevator has dog pee in it at least once a week, so watch your step! 6. One night, what I can only assume was a drunk prostitute, held the door for me while her John parked the car. I'm assuming the prostitute part from the way she was dressed and that I never saw her again before or after that. 7. The first 3 months of living in our building the fire alarms went off 5 times and we had to evacuate the building at ALL hours of the day and night. This must have been fixed as it did not happen in the last 6 months. The Parking I am leaving Highpoint with more dents dings and scratches than I could ever imagine. I can actually understand an occasional door ding, but I have deep "rub marks" from what appears to be people taking things out of their car and in the process, dragging them across the side of my car. The Amenities 1. The gym typically has machines not working, many times multiple treadmills down at the same time. 2. One of the pool tables has been missing a pool ball the entire time i lived there. 3. The clubhouse does not allow food or drink, even though there is a kitchen that they show off during your tour of the amenities. It's not posted anywhere in or around the clubhouse so I can only assume that is because they don't want prospective tenants to know this is not allowed. 4. I have never rented from a place where you are responsible for your water bill. Considering the already high cost of the rent, this seemed ridiculous and was NOT mentioned to me until the day we signed the lease. Also, they had billing issues and were unable to bill us until the 6th month of living there and it WAS retroactive. 5. I had a package confirmed as being delivered to the office by UPS, but they could not find it when I went to pick it up. I had to insist it was somewhere in the room and after a 3rd check, they found it. I would never move back there or recommend it to anyone else! read more

I have lived in highpoint for almost a year. The reviews that i have read are not what i have experienced. The staff is very professional. They have extended hours, which is great to get the packages from the office. My neighbors are nice and I can't hear anything that is going on in their apartments. I love my indoor parking space, especially in the winter. The facilities are pretty good. The workout room has a good array of equipment, the pool tables are in pretty good condition and rarely used (so we use them whenever possible), and the computer room is great for when we needed to access info quickly.Additionally, the staff tries to bring the residents together by having events once a month and have even wrapped candy for valentines day which they left at everyone's door. I can say I am slightly surprised by these reviews because I have had such an opposite experience living here.The staff is extremely helpful and considerate. The day we move into the apartment we had a truckload full of our item and were finally able to see our specific apartment. We found it was not exactly like the model with the bay windows. We were unaware the floor layout on the top floor is different and the bay window is slightly recessed less. This caused us to not be able to fit our dining room table into the apartment and also wasn't what was showed to us. Brian (the apartment manager) was very understanding on the confusion and was also accommodating. He allowed us to move into the first available apartment (a way better one btw!) at the same price of our rent, waived the facility fee, returned the money we used to pay to paint the walls, and painted the new apartment for fee! Additionally, the tenants in the complex are so NICE! The day we moved in, multiple people came to help us carry boxes, even the pizza guy put down his delivery and carried our mattress straight to our apartment! I know people have complained about thin walls, but I have tenants on either side of my wall with babies/young children. They were nice enough to address us personally when we moved and encouraged us to say anything if they are too loud. I faintly heard a baby cry once in my entire year living in the apartment and I was also half asleep, so I potentially it could have been a dream. :) Another great experience was recent when I went to pay my rent. I accidentally overpaid and when I called the office they were quick to fix it in about 20 minutes. They are currently renovating the building, so hopefully they update the pictures. The lobby area of each of the buildings looks very nice (new marble floors, accent walls, new carpet, etc)! I am actually glad I am staying for another year because I have a brand new apartment! :) I have actually never commented on a review before, but I randomly stumbled across this review when I went to pay rent and felt compelled to say something. Honestly, my overall experience here as been great. I am sure people have reasons for moving out a a building due to neighbors, but that cannot be faulted by the building. 1. I am writing this review because I cannot sleep due to the paper thin walls, and my neighbor screaming, giggling, gasping and banging around her apartment. I'm actually fearful for her mental and physical safety. GREAT way to fall asleep. 2. The amount of projects, construction, cleaning products, beeping noises could drive anyone insane. There is ALWAYS something happening with a construction or gardening team. Even on sundays. 3. Last week we were emailed (we get several emails a week updating us on all of their projects) about dog poop DNA testing. 4. If you are a week late on rent, be prepared to get a letter posted to your door threatening legal action, and an eviction if it ever happens again. 5. Pet friendly- yet endless compainig from neighbors about barking (when dogs werent there, btw) You have to walk your dog outside for quite a while before pet friendly area- try to teach a dog with a full bladder not to pee till they get halfway across the community. DONT MOVE HERE...the management SUCKS they are not helpful at all, and make a lot of assumptions. Not to mention how "TOW HAPPY" they are around here...Delivery drivers dont want to deliver here because they go to deliver the food and there car is Towed away... There is NEVER any parking in which you are forced to park in another parking lot that doesn't even belong to the Rosemont Company. There are a lot of break in's ie. cars, apartments, there is dog CRAP everywhere. We had a craigslist killer living here, there was a shooting in the hall of another building (bullet could have hit an innocent person), and someone committed suicide in which they dint speak with residents about it. We've lived here in for 3 years now. Renting for he last 10 years, Highpoint Apartments has been our best 3 years of renting. The apartments are modern, updated and spacious with ample of light. The construction is relatively new so the apartments look brand new and are well maintained. We have not seen a more social and friendly place. The Clubhouse facilities are a hit and are used by most people who live here, making it a nice hangout in the summer with a great swimming pool, gas grills for bbq and a outdoor fireplace. In the winter, indoors is a pool table and TV room and a Big size party room. We had rented the clubroom for my wife's baby shower and everyone who was invited loved the venue. Its modern and classy. There are quite few events organized by the management through the year. A Holiday Christmas Party, a summer bbq, Patriots Game events, monthly movie nights for kids and movies on the outdoor screen in the summer for kids. The Management has always been very responsive, prompt in the service calls and constantly trying to make improvements. They have recently adding a package concierge system that emails you when you have packages and you can retrieve them after hours without having to worry about the front office hours. Awesome place for pet owners, they have 3 pet friendly and 1 non pet buildings. Despite all the pets they do a great job keeping the hallways in the apartments clean and odor free. They have a doggy park too!! The manager Brian Calabro is a very friendly person and so are all the staff working for the new Manangement of Berkshire since 2011. Before moving into the place in 2011 we had read mixed reviews of the place with reviews stating break-in in cars etc... but we have not seen or heard any such thing here. read more

To begin, I am a single, 26 year old male with a dog. My company relocated me to our downtown Boston office from South Carolina. I lived in a 1br 1 ba on the third floor in Building 6 in a handicap accessible apartment. I will break my review down into a few different five star categories to make this simpler. Management: ***** The management of Highpoint was exceptional. They were very nice since the day that i walked in for a tour. I worked mainly with Marcy (leasing agent) and Brian (apartment manager). If i locked myself out of the apartment, they were there within minutes to unlock it for me. They were readily accessible and happy to help. They were very understanding for any needs or questions i had regarding my apartment. I cant say enough good things about Brian. Extremely understandable, easy to work with, and the best management of an apartment complex that i have ever lived, and i have lived in eight different apartment complexes (7 in Alabama and South Carolina, this was my only one in boston) Grounds: ***** You just need to walk around this place once to see that it is very well kept. Consistent landscaping and care keep the grounds looking great. improves atmosphere, in my opinion. Entranceways to each building are very nice. Price: **** I gave this four stars because it seems to be standard for a 1 br 1 ba full apartment with pets allowed. not extremely cheap, not expensive. Location: **** Four stars since its a decent haul to boston. not difficult, just not close, public transportation wise. BUT, its very close to downtown Quincy and the 245 bus stop is right in front of the complex. very convenient. Interior: ***** very nice, large, modern interior. slightly lacking in storage space, but overall, very nice. the views are great from the large bay window (mine overlooked the bay) nice big bathrooms and kitchens. ALSO, and this was a HUGE deal for me, the walls are super thick. in my whole time there, i NEVER heard any noises from any other apartments, either side or above or below me. it was great. Amenities: ***** Weight room, pool, tennis court, volleyball. all very nice and kept up very nicely. also, clean. Parking: ***** Parking is assigned, which is very nice. there will always be YOUR space open. also, garaged parking available for a fee. guest parking readily available on the top floor of the garage. OVERALL: ***** Five Stars. I loved this place and will miss it. i was relocated to New Mexico, so i had to leave. but the best apartments i have lived in and fantastic management. had a dog who had a couple of accidents on the carpet and got 9/10 of my security deposit back! read more

I wish I could give this place a 0. Not attentive to any issues. And make sure you take a lot of pictures and videos when you move out because they will try to get all of the money out of you they can by making up damages that don't exist and that they had to "fix" afterword, even if you only lived there for 3 months. I'm a travel nurse and most of my 3 months living there was spent working night shift and sleeping, and I kept the place very clean, yet somehow they charged me $800 after I moved out. I think 4 stars is fair when considering what is within management's control, and ultimately was not. People being assholes and not cleaning up after themselves is compensated by the immediate cleanup by maintenance. The buildings have improved over the last few years. History lesson time. 2 years ago Berkshire properties bought the property from a nightmare manager named Roseland. Since the transaction, this place has done nothing but improve. Management is very transparent- at all times- about updates on the property, when maintenance will be going into the units, and does pass on requests in their emails for people to clean up after themselves. With that said, if you have anyone living above you, you will resent them. My upstairs neighbors are complete assholes, but a majority of the people are young families who just want peace and quiet. All of this is out of managements control but they do a great job of mediating inter-building tiffs. On this topic it's the effort that counts and they get a 5. The only reservation I have is the inconsistency with which the shuttle driver arrives and departs. The guys a good should but Christ can he take his sweet time. Yet again, management only has so much power here, and to their credit they have fired multiple drivers for not expediting the shuttle process where appropriate. Quick note: Berkshire goes through a cab company for the shuttle drivers, so most of the time you can expect cab management to suck. One last note: there was one shuttle driver, Lynne Tobin, who made a remarkable impact on everyone's lives and is missed. She has taken the opportunity to hang with her family but goodness she was a beautiful soul. read more

The location of this apartment community is convenient. The sizes of the apartments are decent, parking is fair, everything else....unacceptable. Let's start with the office staff. When you are looking to sign a lease, white glove service, when you become a resident, their classless behavior and complete lack of customer service is unbearable. The only 2 individuals who have consistently worked in the office are the property manager Brian and Maureen. My last interaction with Brain makes me think that other reviews and complaints to the Berkshire office in Maryland has made him do an about face. Maureen on the other hand has the nastiest attitude I have ever been subjected to. She has blatantly lied to my face when asked about a package that I received notification was signed for by the office, and has never been helpful in assisting me with any other concern or question I've had. It's fair to say the office staff's lack of knowledge is beyond concerning. If you ask about how/what you are being charged for (e.g. sewage fee), they have NO explanation. Some of residents are cut from the same cloth as the office staff. This community is advertised as luxury, what's so luxurious about animal urine in the elevators (still a current problem) and dog feces on the sidewalks and smeared on entry way carpets? I got in the elevator one morning and someone had spewed what appeared to be bean, all over. There is a cleaning crew, but COME ON PEOPLE, we are all adults, pick up after your dogs, kids and yourself. When people move out, they leave furniture and other items in the lobby, sofas on the sidewalks, like HP is a swap meet!!!! OH and my favorite.....someone fried a turkey outside on Thanksgiving and left the buckets full of oil outside for someone else to dispose of. I can't image whose responsibility that would be, but they did eventually disappear. No consideration for others, whatsoever. The kitchen appliances are old, filthy and cheap and the washer and dryer units are horrible. They charge a premium for units that have stainless steel and granite, nowadays that is pretty standard in most of these apartments communities. All of the buildings need new carpets and fresh paint. So depending on what "luxury" means to you, this place might be acceptable, but I seriously doubt it. At the end of the day, it's really about the people who run this place and how they treat tenants. The buildings are not unlivable, obviously, but the office staff (who purposefully avoid when I can, because I am not used to dealing with such rude, classless and ignorant people) who make me wish that every moving truck I see, was coming to get me out of here. The moral of this story is, weigh ALLLLL of your options when looking for an apartment in this area, especially if you don't have pets. There are at least 2 BRAND NEW communities, one walking distance and the other less than 1/2 a mile from HP, that I'm certain will be better than here. They treat you well when you sign, but it's downhill from there. read more

Lived here since 2012. Really enjoy the property and its location. Sometimes it is difficult to communicate with management on property when there is an issue but recently Julie Mulcahy was the most helpful. She actually listens when you contact her. Sometimes with other managers, I send an email and either there is NO RESPONSE or a one sentence response that basically reads to me that they didn't even read my email. HOWEVER, Julie was great and really should be given props for her customer service. Maybe the other management level employees could learn a thing or two from her. read more

I've never lived anywhere that had so little regard for clients. They either lie or omit things when moving in, such as addl fees for pool, gym, etc. pet fees are paying for very little, nothing for cats, 35$ and an enclosed pile of woodchips mixed in with dog feces is what you get for 60$ per dog. I think a good part of dog fees are used to purchase no dogs allowed signs. Granted the apartments are nice but not nice enough to increase rent by at least 100$ a year but usually more. If you should lose your keys prices to replace them range from free up to 150$ depending on who you're friends with. Maintenance group responds quickly most of the time, they do however hire outside the group for most situations. Parking can be a problem as well mostly because of abandoned vehicles which stay put for years, but god forbid you park curbside to run upstairs for a minute, they will snatch you up before your car cools off. They've also installed TV sets in the lobby of each building none of which I've ever seen used. It's a shame this could be a nice place if they cared more about people living here then they do about random fees steadily increasing rents, mowing the grass which is about three times a day usually kicking in around 7:30am, also an outside contractor. Most of the problems about the place seems to cone directly from the 'leader' Brian, which is the only constant in the office, employees roll in and out of here quite regular so it must be their boss at the root of it. But where else can you buy heroin, rent hookers, get robbed at gunpoint in your own parking lot, and have your cars broken into all in one spot. I would strongly suggest anyone thinking of moving in here that they should wait till Avalon finishes their new buildings right next door, or maybe after they get some decent front office people, starting at the top. I'm surprised at all the negative reviews, so just thought I'd add my two-cents to balance out the reviews. I've been living here about a year, and have been pretty happy. Yes, it is pretty expensive for the town we're living in, but the upkeep and maintenance have been pretty good. - parking is easy. Haven't had issues w/ our car getting broken into yet (and if it were, that's more a problem with the town, not the management). - Thin walls? I must have really quiet neighbors, b/c I haven't heard a peep. - Office staff are nice and friendly. One time, they thought they misplaced a package, but they were also super-busy at the time, so when they looked a second time, they found it. - gym and pool are kept nicely, and they have a lifeguard when the pool is open. - washer and dryer are great. - haven't had an issue with neighbors, except for the dogowners that are blatantly walking their dogs on the lawn despite the fact that there are signs practically every 20 feet saying "don't walk your dog here". there's a really nice dog run with ramps and stuff that people can bring their dogs to. again, not management's fault, unless they hire dog-police. all in all, been pretty happy, but obviously wish it could be cheaper. but i think for the amenities you get, it evens out read more

Have been a tenant from 2012 - 2014. Enjoyed my stay very much and always surprised how peaceful and quiet the unit was in spite of being on the third floor of a eighth floor building. After being away of Boston for one year and found myself looking for a quality apartment without breaking the bank, Highpoint Apartments was top of the list again. The amenity include: fantastic exercise room, outdoor pool and BBQ area, regular community parties, and shuttle service to Quincy Center. The units are tastefully decorated and covered parking are available. The view from the building facing the east side is absolutely amazing and peaceful. For the great Boston area, this apartment complex has an excellent combination of space, facilities and atmosphere. read more

I also would like to add a quick review since there are a few negatives reviews from a few bitter people that had bad experiences. I have lived here for 3 months and have nothing bad to say about this community. Management has been nothing short of Professional and always extremely nice when they are around. Maintenance responds to work orders almost immediately and work to fix whatever the problem is as fast as possible. The noise is like any other apartment community. If someone is being loud you can hear it very muffled, but only if you are sitting in silence. If you have the TV on or are going about your business, then the noise is unnoticeable. I show this apartment to clients on a weekly basis and have heard nothing but great things from all of them, some of which who have lived here for over a year. Everything about this community is convenient and clean. I highly recommend this property to those looking for quality at the right price. read more

My husband and I lived at the Highpoint Building with 10 from 7/2010 till 8/2013. Ownership and management has changed in that time as did policies and grounds. Overall, we were very happy. Nice quiet people and beautiful grounds with great views. Walls NOT 'paper thin' although we lived in a corner unit. Maintenance is outstanding and service things right away - miss that as home owner. Staff helpful and pool and gym are nice. read more

I have been living here for almost 5 years and just renewed my lease. I really could not be happier for my first luxury apartment experience. Maintenance is lightning fast, staff is very friendly from the leasing agents to the cleaners. My building is always well maintained. I have lived in 2 different apartment layouts there and could not be happier with the space especially the CLOSETS! The views really are gorgeous. The apartment staff do a great job creating a community feel with many events and parties throughout the year. The amenities are excellent...I love the gym, pool, firepit, and BBQ area. Having my own parking spot is a huge plus and visitor parking is very easy. The landscaping is well maintained and the seasonal flowers really make you feel at home. Living close enough to the highway and not hearing it is also a big plus with very easy access to 95, 93, and route 3. There are tons of great restaurants and atmospheres in Quincy from Hancock Street to Wollaston beach. I have personally worked with Marcy Malone for the majority of my stay here and always felt well cared for with any issues and questions I have. I highly recommend this complex to anyone looking for an apartment on the South Shore. You definitely get what you pay for! :) read more

I've been living here about 8 yrs now and am happy to call it home=) I work in Braintree and go to the city a lot so location is perfect ! I love that it's a very pet friendly place. Almost everyone has a dog. Which is nice because everyone is out and about around the complex. The grounds are kept very beautiful and clean. Spring/summer is my favorite time up at highpoint. The pool area is great with an awesome fire pit, grill, tables and comfy chairs to relax at. Since I first moved in highpoint has come a long way their constantly updating. The maintenance team always gets the job done and quick when called upon. Brian has been great to deal with also, he is very helpful with whatever questions or needs you have. His weekly emails letting us know whats going on around the complex are always a pleasure to read. He's got a great attitude =) Not to mention the beautiful views of Boston or the water...highpoint is where its at !!! read more

I don't know why this place has all of these bad reviews, we moved here in October 2015, and so far the management office has been doing an awesome job. All our maintenance and cleaning requests or any other issues we have are being answered immediately. The apartments are very nice and clean. The only issues I have with this compound, is that the units have thin walls, and most of the time we hear our neighbors. Also, I wish if the units had a balcony, it would've been a nice edition to these nice looking apartments. Again, the management team is very professional and is doing a great job. read more

I lived at highpoint for 2 yrs 1st in building 2 then in building 6 in building 2 people didnt talk to each other much in building 6 they were more friendly except the arabs who are afraid of dogs which I had will in building 6 was in an end unit so i can not comment on the thin wall issue maintenance staff was great as well as the cleaning crew I liked the idea of the dog park leasing office I had no issues with never saw a drug deal while living there read more

For the past few years living here has been great and enjoyable and I do feel management truly cares about the residents and tries their hardest to improve the property. However, there seems to be a continual problem with pet messes that keep occurring. Unfortunately due to these select few dog owners who are very inconsiderate about every other neighbor, we continue to deal with dog poop in our mailbox area and urine on the floor of the building lobby within the common areas. So although a resident may be proud of their living arrangements, they better continually watch their step because obviously not every resident cares if on your way to work early in the morning you accidentally step on their dogs mess on your way down the elevator or out the building front door. Heeeyyy, don't live here. I'm a current resident at Highpoint. This place does have a great view as someone mentioned. Everything else is horrible. From the moment you walk in, it is unpleasant. The halls smell funny (probably from both dogs constantly pissing in them and mgmt attempting to cover up the smell with cheap odorizers). I know others have complained about how thin the walls are, but MY GOD are they thin. When I'm laying in my bed, I can actually hear my neighbor (whose kitchen is on the other side of the wall) pour their coffee grounds in the morning. That is insane. Think of noise mitigation as being on par with times you may have gone camping in a tent. And back to the dogs. When they aren't pissing in the halls, they are barking, and thanks to the awesome walls, you will hear every dog for a four apartment radius. Big dogs, too. I'm fairly certain my upstairs neighbors have a pitbull (near as I can tell from his 6 am bark-marathons that go on all day). Terrific. In addition to the other terribleness of the complex, they decide to get all sorts of trust fund baby college kids to live here. Mom and dad are responsible for everything, and the kids are responsible for nothing. Drunken screaming in the hallways, random fluids in the elevator and 4 am parties are things you can look forward to here. Other than that, the gym is trash, the pool is small and mgmt does nothing about anything. Long story short, unless you want to the type of convenience of never having to worry about what your neighbors might be talking about/eating combined with the lifestyle that could only come from living upstairs from a boarding kennel and downstairs from a frat, look elsewhere. read more

Disgusting place stay away. FYI the Craigslist killer used to live in building 8. The management sucks. I am asthmatic and management insists on renovating/painting my apt even though I don't want to. I asked them to wait until I move out and they are being complete a*holes. They are essentially forcing and putting us into extreme inconvenience. I don't want anyone touching my property or getting paint on my clothes and furniture. I really hate this place. read more

Every year the price has gone up, sure that is normal, but not to go up by over 100$ every year! The walls are paper thin and the neighbors are inconsiderate and seem to never sleep. Its not uncommon for there to be loud noise up until 3am on a regular basis. People leave trash where they shouldn't, let their animals pee in the common areas without any cleanup, and they prop doors open so they can go for smokes or run errands and come back and not have to use their keys. Not such a great feeling knowing this is where the Craigslist Killer lived! Oh and there is a door that doesn't need to be propped open to do this, since the frame of the door is too small for the door to shut all the way to actually lock. I actually gave up on telling Highpoint that this needed to be fixed after them not listening for 2 years. The parking is great, and plentiful, except they now require you to park in the garage if you have a garage sticker on your car. Great, except if you are on the 2nd floor of the garage and you have a child, or if you are older and cant traverse the stairs, you need to walk all the way around through the gate where cars come fast, which is very dangerous. They should allow you to switch to the bottom level if you meet these conditions, r at the least, let you park in the open spaces outside. Not too big a deal normally, but when it snows and they don't plow that one area where the gate opens, if you are a woman with a stroller or older with a grocery cart, you literally cant exit the garage until the snow melts. The office is very friendly, especially the leasing staff. They always seem to want to help. The management seems to put on a fake sense of caring. Oh and if you expect to be in a smoke free environment, forget about that! There are no rules stating that you must have a blocker under your door when you smoke, and given the fact that its very windy at the highest point of Quincy, if one person smokes in their unit, the smoke quickly billows out into the halls and back under your door. All in all these things create a very different environment from what you would expect from the prices. My advice is to look elsewhere if you can. read more

What a joke this place is. The management office is so poorly run it is to the point of being comical. Stay far away. Half the people have no idea what they are doing and the other half could give a crap about any sort of customer service. They spelled my last name wrong on the lease documents and never fixed it - when I brought it to their attention instead of just apologizing it and fixing it (no big deal) they BLAMED ME for having a hard last name to spell. My name was spelled out for them in writing on my application and in numerous emails to the office. Totally outrageous!!!! Also, they keep emailing me that I have a package in the office! I DONT LIVE THERE - and never have! Asked 4 times to be removed from all of their mailings. Still getting them. Needless to say I never moved in - there are many other places in the area that are worth the money - that do not come with any aggravation. read more

Been living here for over a year now. I work in Boston and it's a perfect location to commute in. Close enough to the city and you still have a community vibe. Pool area is awesome , they have outdoor grills to use and tables and chairs for the summer. Very secure too, haven't had any issues with the residents. During the winter they are constantly plowing and keeping the lots clear. Everyone I have met that works here is very polite, Brian always tries to find a solution if there is a problem, kind of hard to understand some of the other reviews on here. It seems like some of the reviews are basically bashing other residents who don't clean up after their pet.That's to be expected in a pet friendly building. If there's ever a problem , I contact maintenance and they come over and either clean up or fix the problem. I highly recommend this complex , the views are amazing and they are constantly updating their facilities. read more

I am sad that I am leaving highpoint circle. After looking at several apartments in the Quincy area this is amazing . The shuttle , gym and pool are great! Everyone here is polite and friendly for the most part but I have to give the most credit to the property manager Brian . I lived in boston prior to living at highpoint he is by far the best property manger and I am not just saying this. He responds right away to any concerns and gets the job done ! also accommodating ! he truly does want the tenants to be happy. My move didn't go as planned he allowed me to stay another month and I informed him last minute. Very pleasant helpful and always happy. I will miss him that truly does make a big difference and I think that's why the community at highpoint is so good he does a great job and by far the best property manager . That review that's on here last must be old because the gym has all new equipment , the lifeguard does enforce rules she has the past 2 summers .some of the girls in the office could work on their customer service and being friendly but the property manager is the best by far. They clean the apartments very well outside, there is a nice grilling station updated gym and club house! Beautiful place kept up as well. If a dog does have an accident it is clean right away. It really is a great community with great people managed very well. I haven't lived in such a great place to be honest. Love highpoint and I think Brian should manage more properties and most property managers should be like him, he is the best one I have come across yet very personable I recommend him most should be like him.! read more

We have been living at Highpoint for 4 years now and are loving it. First of all, the property manager Brian is the best. He has helped us a lot whether it is with a maintenance problem, resigning our lease, or any other question we may have. He always makes sure his tenants are happy and I appreciate that. Next, apartments are super spacious with lots of closet space, which is a plus. A lot of people have a dog or two and the dog park is an added bonus, especially when you don't want to drive far to let your fur babies run around off the leash. They just renovated all of the buildings internally and they look brand new. Grilling/pool area is super nice and gets renovated each year. Gym area is very clean and has new equipment also. Leasing office staff puts on a kid's movie in the club house with drinks and snacks monthly, so everyone can get together and hang out. I would absolutely recommend this place for anyone who is looking to be a part of a great community. read more

I have lived this place for two years and I'm happy that I am finally done with it. First of all, the elevators are always with feces smell, especially terrible in winter. Second, I always saw packages left at the mailroom or the first floor even the community has package concierge lock boxes. Third, the shuttle driver never checked the passengers and let people not living in this community get on the shuttle. He also dropped off and picked up people on the way to the star market and I believe it is not allowed. Lastly, they removed the printer at the computer room just because some of the residents printed too much. WTH??? People paid 2k+ rent every month and they care about the pennies spending on maintaining printers??? Now they do help you print out stuff during office hour, but they only allow you to print 1-2 pages. I was gonna print out a 15-page document and the lady was like NO YOU CAN'T DO THAT with rude attitude. That was even my first time trying to use the printer in 2 years!!! read more
