Service was great. Food was outside. Large servings and the desserts are heavenly and large.

Taco salad very dry taco meat crumbles.

I just had a horrible experience here. As soon as I sat down, the bus boy started mopping and used too much bleach in the cleaning water. I overheard another older couple say something amongst themselves. I ordered the taco salad and when it arrived I could tell right away the taco meat was dry, flavorless, and mealy. I broke the taco shell and meat went all over the place. I took a couple bites, but had to stop and leave the place hungry.

A true piece of Midwest Americana! Five stars all around!! Vintage diner vibe with booths and counter seating. Very friendly and efficient staff, HUGE menu, fabulous home baked goods made on site, cinnamon rolls and pecan rolls as big as a plate. Had a rare T-bone steak with the best sweet potato fries ever! We'll come again! There's plenty of seating!

Really Crowded Sunday. Owner came over to visit and clear plates! Food was good. Thank You Bakery noticed Elephant Ears smaller, no Pecan Rolls !

I went there last week. It's in the old pinecone space and we kept seeing the open sign so we stopped by. A lot of the same staff that worked for pinecone are there and the service was great. Food was great I got a corned beef skillet and it was great. Ordered hot tea and enjoyed that as well. Grateful to have our little spot back in action even if it is new ownership. The menu is full of a lot of options (apologies I forgot to take a photo of it). It was great to be back in our booth and supporting another local business. Excited to try some of their signature dishes the next time we visit!

The head chef Casey served us our plates and he was a delight to chat with! He puts so much love and thought into every dish. He explained some of the inspirations for things on the menu which was fun! If you are vegetarian this place is a dream with tons of options! Do not be fooled, they are very filling. My husband and I shared the marinated white beans on toast, cauliflower, oyster mushroom and pesto spaghetti. All were great and delicious! Least fav (although still tasty) may have been the cauliflower cuz it's fried and gets a little heavy but the raisins in the dish are a nice surprise and treat! Although tapas style, the portions are generous. You can taste how fresh the Ingredients are in each dish as well. The pesto was a flavor bomb of fresh basil and garlic! The drinks are also top notch with interesting ingredient that create a wonderful medley together. Highly recommend trying a few. For dessert we shared the bay leaf cake and the creme brûlée- also delicious. I look forward to returning the next time I visit Madison. Also love how the restaurant ambiance is a homage to blanches lanai from golden girls! It's a fun space with great decor. Recommend getting there early as they don't take reservations and it gets very busy on the weekend! Highly recommend and overall a wonderful experience!

They clearly take risks in the best way, and it often pays off. The only reason I can't give five stars is an ongoing issue with salt levels. On a few occasions, dishes haven't just been slightly over-seasoned, they've been overwhelmingly salty to the point of overpowering the flavor and, at times, bordering on inedible. And that's coming from someone who genuinely enjoys salty food. When they get the balance right, the food is exceptional. I just wish the seasoning were more consistent.

Anyway, good pours for the mimosa and I was pleasantly surprised by the avocado toast. I substituted a fried egg for the bacon, and it came with fresh cherry tomatoes and was actually a decent size. The tater tots that came with it were mostly the fried outside with minimal potato, but it was nice to have a few because potatoes go with breakfast so nicely. While I was sitting at the bar, the bartender was kind, conversational, and attentive. That said, after I'd closed out and was finishing my mimosas, multiple people came up to the place prior to a flight wanting to order food but the bartender (only server) disappeared. Someone from the kitchen came out and said he'd be back in a few minutes, but I never saw him come back and everyone that was waiting eventually moved on and went to their flights.

Got in late on a Sunday night, and decided to grab a bite to eat as the bar serves food until 11PM. First off, the bartender was great. Personable, funny, and treated us right. He was acting as server and bartender and always brought everything to the table which was nice. Split some wings to start and had a burger and fries to eat. Wings were adequate, but pretty small and nothing memorable. Burger and fries we again passable, but not great. They did have a good selection of local micros, so it was all washed down with an Edmund Fitzgerald Porter from Great Lakes Brewing, tasty!! We were back again for the breakfast buffet. Breakfast was way better than dinner the night before. Pretty typical hotel buffet, with eggs, French toast, fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast, coffee, OJ, you get the picture. It was kept well stocked and the wait staff was pretty quick with refills. So a bit of a mixed bag, but alright for a hotel if you don't want to or don't have time to venture out for better food.
