I did run in just to get some cream puffs. I heard they were fabulous. I got three mini cream puffs and decided to also get a mini blueberry pie. Service was fast, attentive and easy to work with. I got out fast. so in terms of service. services is great, fast and no complaints Cream puff was phenomenal. The pastry had like a nice Crisp too. It was not soggy and the whip cream was super stiff. Not too sweet. Just the right amount of flavors the pie very good perfect for four people. We cut it into four pieces. We enjoyed. It is just a really good home cooked quality pie, and cream puff. Would like to go back and try to eat at the restaurant next time.

Service was great. Food was outside. Large servings and the desserts are heavenly and large.

Taco salad very dry taco meat crumbles.

I just had a horrible experience here. As soon as I sat down, the bus boy started mopping and used too much bleach in the cleaning water. I overheard another older couple say something amongst themselves. I ordered the taco salad and when it arrived I could tell right away the taco meat was dry, flavorless, and mealy. I broke the taco shell and meat went all over the place. I took a couple bites, but had to stop and leave the place hungry.

A true piece of Midwest Americana! Five stars all around!! Vintage diner vibe with booths and counter seating. Very friendly and efficient staff, HUGE menu, fabulous home baked goods made on site, cinnamon rolls and pecan rolls as big as a plate. Had a rare T-bone steak with the best sweet potato fries ever! We'll come again! There's plenty of seating!

A real-deal truck stop diner. Friendly service, great food. Save some room and grab something from the bakery on your way out!

Date of visit: October 11, 2024…read more This was a stop on our way up to Minneapolis. We wanted to get past the Madison traffic for dinner but without having to deal with the crazy tourists in the Wisconsin Dells-area. We sought out a recommendation from a friend, and they did not disappoint! Service was a touch slow, but it was a very busy Friday night so I am giving some grace on that here with my review, especially as our server was quite wonderful. However, this is definitely a place that would benefit from the addition of some technology; watching our waitress take our order by hand, then stop at the next table and do the same, and then go enter both means that both orders get to the kitchen at the same time instead of spacing them out. And it just so happened that the table who ordered after us received their dinner first. Not complaining, just pointing out the inefficiency. Our server was super friendly and fun, which helped with the longer wait (I wonder how the Halloween decorating went--she said she was in charge of it), and the food was so good that I forgot all about the wait! My grilled cheese was excellent, though the star of the show was really the sweet potato fries. They. Gave. Me. Life. Try them! Or really try anything at The Rodeside Grill, we were all members of the Clean Plate Club that night!

Some of the portion sizes were smaller, others large. They do have great kid options. We got a cinnamon roll, Mickey pancake, kids egg breakfast, and skillets. The cinnamon roll was good but didn't have a warm a doughy center like I really love with a fresh cinnamon roll. The other breakfasts were solid, no real notes outside of the biscuit being very dry and some of the fruit being bad. Service 5/5: our waitress was very accommodating. Our food came quickly and she overall did an amazing job. Ambiance 5/5: this place is so much fun, especially for kids. My kiddos loved watching the planes come in and land. We were in the corner, so we had a partially obstructed view, but is still such a fun atmosphere to be able to watch the planes come in and out. Overall this is more of an experience than a place to come back to for the food. The parking lot can get pretty packed, so be patient if trying to find a spot. I would absolutely make a reservation whenever you want to go here to ensure you get a table at the time you want. They are cash only, and they're transparent about that, so don't be surprised by that piece.

We came for breakfast, andI I had the corned beef hash. I substituted a biscuit for toast and although it was huge and well-made, I didn't care for the biscuit''s touch of sweetness. They would be perfect if you eat them with jelly. I prefer mine with butter. The hash itself was prepared exactly how I ordered it and the eggs were a perfect over medium as I asked for, too. I was very pleased. Then came the pie. Wow! I had never had pie with breakfast before but when at Norske Nook enjoying a slice is practically a requirement. I had the lemon meringue and it was phenomenal. The meringue was so high and perfectly made, it was difficult to eat. Absolutely wonderful. I had been to the original location in Osseo, Wisconsin years ago, and I was pleased to see that this one existed in DeForest. The pies never disappoint. A delightful stop! Our server, Seth, did an excellent job, too. He was warm, attentive, and was working hard to anticipate our needs.
