Would not recommend. Here's why: (1) Unreasonably upsold - I've had more than one expert walk through our home and tell us that our tanks are WAY to big for our home. Our in laws also couldn't believe how large our RO tanks were. We weren't even given an alternative option for the ROs (they are the size of bbq propane tank). The last expert guessed what we paid and then told us what we should have paid and it should have been 1/2 the cost (2) unprofessional - they took WAY longer than they estimated (twice the time), stayed into the evening on install without checking in or asking. They also left our old filters in and even after asking to come our to remove, they didn't. (3) Left a mess - huge yard mess left installing the plumbing and our yard guy kindly cleaned it up. If you want a trusting, pleasant company to work with, this isn't it. read more

Our Clack water softener was not cycling normally. I checked Yelp and other search engines for a reputable local company because the installation of the current softener was by a San Antonio Company which I no longer trust. I contacted Hill Country H2O and agreed upon a date and time window. I appreciated the notice that the appointment may move back because of a delay at a previous customer that day. I received a notice that the service reps were on their way and arrived at the appointed time. The reps, Steve and John, were courteous and explained to me the reasons for the abnormal function and made minor adjustments to settings. Had them install a water softener and reverse-osmosis system three years ago. The installation went fine, and the products have performed admirably. After one year I called to schedule a routine filter change. This was not only recommended in the purchase agreement but *required* for the warranty to remain intact, so I was expecting a smooth, routine interaction. Too my disappointment I was given the runaround, with Derrick saying somebody would get back to me, but no one did. No biggie, as at that time I had the wherewithal to change the filters myself. However, I weaken in my advancing years and now have trouble doing this, at least without the proper tools. I contacted Derrick and asked him where I can find a suitable filter wrench. He does not deign to answer my text. Thus the pattern of poor communication at best and poor product support at worst. If I am still living in the area the next time I need a new water system, I hope I will find alternatives. read more

Like many I was drawn to this company due to their reviews on Yelp. However, DO NOT be fooled! I called them on a Monday due to a leak with my filter system that I found on Saturday. Derek picked up and offered to service and mentioned he would check his supply house for parts. He mentioned he would text me so I could send him photos of the system and leak. I was grateful he would help since this was a very urgent matter and we did not have any running water in the house. Having a newborn and my mom at the house made the water situation even more frantic. An hour and half goes by and I did not receive a text message. Not thinking much of it, I decided to call Derek to confirm. He immediately sends the text after my call....GREAT! I send over my photos and videos. A couple hours go by and no confirmation of receipt or any indication of potential service time. I become a bit nervous and decide to call Derek again to confirm. He picked up and said he would check with the supply house and call me back in an hour. I decide to lay off and wait for the rest of day....and no call ever came back to me from that point forward. The following day (Now this is day 4 without water since we lost water on a Saturday), I decide to give Derek another call to confirm whether he can service. No answer. At this point, I am convinced he decided to GHOST me and will not even give me the courtesy to tell me they can not do the job. I wait another hour trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, again NO ANSWER. What I've realized is that this company is only focused on doing larger services, and unfortunately my situation was not worth their time. This is extremely disappointing since I would of PAID WHATEVER they wanted since we were in DESPERATE need of water. I was hauling buckets to boil so my newborn can bathe at night. Anyways, I never write these rants but I wanted to share with people who are considering using this company for services. If you are looking to get a big project $$$ done, I'm sure they will be happy to help. Smaller issues regardless of urgency, be sure to have a backup or else you will be waiting by the phone. I appreciate the response and care your company puts but I still can't recommend it. We left off with "We will think about it" and I never got the price breakdown that I asked for to better understand the overall cost of the service. While it's fair not comparing apples to apples the recommendation was what bothered me the most. Instead of pointing us towards a system that fits our house, we were recommended the most expensive system that was way overkill. I actually remember when asking for the FLECK 5600 SXT that you mentioned it wasn't good for our house and our water pressure would suffer from it, and that's not the case. I'm sure the quality of the service per se is good as many other reviews mentioned and the full service you provide is something that people should fairly pay for, that I understand. But, especially for people who don't know too much about water softener systems, it could be helpful to provide some resources so they better understand WHY they need that specific system instead of trying to push for the most expensive one that's going to cover all cases no matter what. There are about 80,000 contaminants in our water supply and most public water supply labs only test for about 40 of them. Think about all the drug metabolites and such that people are peeing out (crazy stuff). Independent testing shows that in Georgetown, TX there are currently 10 contaminants detected above health guidelines and most of them cause cancer: https://www.ewg.org/tapwater/ These days you have to take personal responsibility for the purity of the water you drink...and especially the water you bathe in. You absorb much more chlorine and chloramines when you take a hot shower than when you drink. These chemicals cause cancer! Derek was very professional and had a great amount of knowledge and expertise when it came to water softening systems. Our project was particularly difficult because of the configuration of our home and our main water line ran underneath our concrete driveway. I was actually told by another plumber that it likely wouldn't be possible to install a water filtration system. However, Derek came out for an estimate appointment and came up with a plan of attack right away. He did admit it would be more expensive but that it would definitely be possible. I admired that he was very up front about everything and took the time to explain all the different options in detail. The install process was made easy because all the guys were extremely polite and transparent about the process.
