Wonderful yarn shop because of the nice selection and pleasant and hospitable ladies that run it. There is also a wine room. Be careful as getting into the parking lot from 290, it can be perilous.

I stopped in here yesterday afternoon with my youngest daughter and really enjoyed looking around at all the yarns. They do have a huge selection within several rooms of what must be a converted old house. It's a real maze to walk thru and fun to look into every nook and cranny. I had absolutely no issues with getting cheerful help with prices etc. Since I am travelling I can't buy much (not to mention my lifetime supply at home) but found a yarn that is a personal favorite, Colorspun Encore by Plymouth Yarns, that they had in a color I'd never seen at other shops I'd been to in Ca and AZ, so I bought two skeins plus one other pretty one. They have a large selection of needles, hooks and accessories, too. I didn't need anything there but couldn't resist a tiny pair of purple scissors with case. You just never know what you will find when you explore little Indy yarn shops on other towns. That's what makes it interesting!

    Nice, soft, warm hat :)

The yarn selection here is incredible! The staff were very friendly and helpful. They answered all of the questions we had and they made excellent color suggestions. This is the first place I've gone to where I've gone ahead and gotten my skein rolled into a ball. It didn't take very long and the lady waiting on us made good conversation while we waited to check out. Visiting this shop was a very pleasant experience, my only complaint was that there wasn't enough local yarn but that's a small complaint at best. My boyfriend spent the next couple days crocheting a hat for our friend with the yarn we bought here, picture of the finished product attached :)

I especially love the sirdar jewelspun chunky with wool yarn (color blend: mother of Pearl..check out my video for how gorgeous these colors were) where I managed to get two beanies out of a single ball! But the best thing here are the lessons by Carrie Au. I'm a teacher myself and I can recognize an excellent teacher and Carrie is absolutely that. With just two lessons from her, I was able to basically do everything I needed to make 90% of what I could ever want to make. I then had spent a couple of months crocheting different things and came back for another more advanced lesson. Carrie knows all the yarn arts and can do things both right and left handed. And she has so many helpful tips that she's learned from experience that I never saw on any YouTube video or website tutorial (and in fact there are popular things out there i learned from her were NOT good things to do). If you want to learn (crochet or knitting), so worth coming here to take lessons (beginner through advanced). The other benefit is that their yarns and hooks are good quality so if you start here, you'll have such a better time and be more likely to continue.

Another Very Smart Thing is that the yarns are sorted by gauge and cutely and clearly marked. The person on staff was helpful and I enjoyed talking with her. If I find myself in the area I'll certainly stop again.

I've been looking for a fabric store and finally checked this one out. Their warehouse is HUGE and…read morethey have sooo many different fabrics. everything from mesh to upholstery. They also carry zippers, buttons, and lots of other sewing supplies. The inside was clean and organized, which made shopping easy. We didn't really interact with staff much until checkout, but the male worker was kind and helpful. The fabric I picked was on the more expensive side (around $20/yard), but there were plenty of affordable options throughout the store too. Will definitely be coming back for more fabric!

I searched everywhere online and went to 3 fabric stores in SA to find a specific fabric that I…read morefound here. They have an amazing selection and I highly recommend coming here if in need for something specific. I was in such a celebratory mood and then the rudest employee came over and rushed us. My mother and I wanted to compare fabrics. We had taken one fabric to another part of the store to put another fabric side by side. Then we started to begin discussing measurements. This employee that came over said "are you buying the material or not because if not I have to put it back for other customers". Totally understandable we were very willing to put it back, but it's not what you say it's how you say it. He picked up the fabric we had. I let him know we are totally fine putting it back, but we were planning on buying some, we were just calculating measurements. He asked if we needed help figuring it out like he wanted us to hurry up, and I said no my mom was a math teacher, then he said well I'll put it on the table and you tell me how much you need, which again we didn't know. We were trying to do the math and weren't ready, that's whole reason why we were standing there! We are doing a huge project that needed some thought we don't want to get too much or too little since this store is an hour away from us. He took the fabric to the counter when we weren't ready and unfolded it. So we then were trying to figure it out at the counter which was so awkward because then someone got behind us in line. I was like why are you rushing us!? Don't you want to help the person behind us first? I looked at the employee and he was tapping his nails on the counter like he was annoyed. The whole interaction was just so rude. I know it doesn't sound like that much written down, the attitude was just so passive aggressive. I told my mom to gather her things so we could leave and discuss outside away from this man so other customers could be taken care of first and because I don't like people disrespecting my mom I needed to get out of that situation. I understand if this employee was about to go on his lunch, but he didn't have to interrupt us at all. He could have left us alone. We would have figured out the math and came to the counter when we were ready. He could have put back the material and said come to us when you are ready. Someone else could have rung us up. But no obviously this man can't read the room, doesn't have social skills, or customer service skills. Because of this I don't care how good the store is, I will not be back.

I opted for a class to help me jump back in to my long lost hobby. Suzy teaches 12pm-2pm and invites us to bring any questions or projects we need help with. She was a delight to meet and helped me remember things I had forgotten from projects I had left unfinished as well as start a new HAT with a new wool yarn that I bought at the store. Cathy helped me at the counter and was so very welcoming and kind. She invited me to wait in their sitting area which is super cozy. I was surrounded by example projects and even a knitting "bowl-stand-table" that was hand made wood from a local wood crafter. I included it in my photo of the sofa area. It is so pretty. I'm satisfied with my class today and have knowledge to finish what I had started and a new project on my circular needles Thanks Suzy and Cathy for your help today. I look forward to visiting again. ~LindaD
