Fantastic bottom of hill pizza goodness!!! Get in early, and enjoy a delicious pizza!!! Bubbly crust, with the perfect amount of browned bits, quality ingredients and just deliciousness. Also split the house salad and the dressing was so fresh and loved the pickled red peppers with the cucumbers, and fresh greens. I haven't had a pizza this good since NY three weeks ago. Now I mention NY, and although I also love the NY "fold it" crust, I personally prefer a bit sturdier crust BUT still with that chewy texture plus the bubbly brown crust. It was so delicious!!! Highly recommend!!! Also got a piece of berry pie to go, also amazing!! It's a small place with lots of locals coming in for pick up, so plan accordingly. Also have seen comments about the Asian woman who runs the counter...I assume she owns the place....she was lovely!!! I only wish that I would have taken a photo of the cook who was helping take pizzas out to patrons, both inside and outside. He left a flour footprint trail as he helped. Love this place!!!!

The pizza and house salad were very good. This is definitely a place we will be back to. Didn't have room for the sweet pies, but what we saw looked great. Service was very good, especially since it was busy and there were not many servers.

Came in for the clam chowder. Smaller place. Staff was friendly and quick to help you. The place was clean and the food excellent.

Such a cute little place. The soup and pizza here is glorious. Four stars because they don't have ranch.

By-the-slice can be limited at the street level window due to its popularity, but I've never had a bad slice even when I ordered something I wasn't sure I'd like. When dining upstairs the service is just okay at best. The servers can be pleasantish enough, but not super-efficient in how they manage serving customers. I say that as a former wait person of 10+ years. I've been there when it's been packed and when it's pretty mellow. In the summer, upstairs can be as hot as what you think the front porch into Hell might feel like. In winter, don't sit by the windows even though they're closed. One dude making pizza and serving downstairs at the slice/pick-up window can get kind of grumpy. He reminds me of Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi." Kill him with kindness, and it'll work out in the end. In spite of that, I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather get pizza. There IS a place off a highway near Nyack, New York, but it's a MUCH longer trip. Pizza here is a solid 5, service upstairs is a 3, service downstairs is a 1-5 depending on the direction of the wind, ambience is a 3+ because even though it's really probably a 2 in most people's eyes, the building is old, funky, has history, and I like that.

When you go in, you go and order and pay at the counter first, then sit down with a number and wait for your food to be brought out to you. Service at the counter is friendly and food comes out fast -- water and utensils are self serve, but you do not need to bus your own table. The vibe of the place is casual, with a couple of TV screens set to various sports channels and old music on the playlist. The two of us shared a full portion of the Washington apple salad, I had the meatloaf burger, and my dinner buddy had the mushroom stroganoff, which he enjoyed. Portions are generous here, I am happy to say, and we were absolutely stuffed afterward. We honestly probably didn't *need* to order the salad, but we were both wanting the vegetables to balance out the meal. The salad was huge and full of beautiful fresh leaves, dressed lightly but evenly with a great vinaigrette, topped with crunchy apple chunks and slices, walnuts, and blue cheese. It's delicious but actually feels healthy. The meatloaf burger is awesome. The meatloaf itself is moist, not overly bread crumby, well seasoned, and there's a right thick slab of it in the sandwich. This is honestly a perfect burger, despite not being a typical burger. Eating this is not a graceful endeavor, stuff falls out left and right, but who cares. The small cup of slaw on the side is solid and adds some textural variety. Definitely a great place for a tasty, filling, casual meal. Next time I hope I can actually try some Cornish pasty.
