We were in town at Mayo Clinic with our daughter. We had a problem with our door latch on our Jayco Seneca. They were great! They had four men working on it. A woman inside was trying to locate parts. They took it apart and took it into the shop and welded it and put it all back together. Very happy with them! Would highly recommend. Remember If You Purchase A Motorhome From Any Hilltop RV Establishment They Do Zero Chassi Maint Or Repair So If Your Gas Tank Leaks Your On Your Own! The shop in Oronoco had zero interest in helping me find a chassis dealer nor did they recommend any. I took it to a Ford dealership as it's a Ford Chassis. Took pictures, said they would deal with the extended warranty and it would take a week. 18 days later, no estimate on cost, no repairs had been done, phone calls were ignored or not answered. They blamed management turnover. Poor customer service and dishonest information about progress on repairs. Would not recommend for RV repairs. read more

DISAPPOINTED- Hilltop didn't back their product. While we appreciated John our salesman Hilltop wouldn't reimburse the cost to replace a cracked waterheater. CONSUMER WARNING @ ROCHESTER, MN LOCATION/ DEREK JOHNSON GM YELP MODERATORS HAVE BEEN REMOVING NEGATIVE COMPLAINTS PER HILL TOP CAMPERS REQUESTS. THEY ONLY HAVE 8 REVIEWS FOR THE NUMBER OF YEARS IN BUSINESS. YOU DECIDE...... NOT A FAIR SITE! Purchased on 9/14/24. Pick up on 9/17/24. Derek Johnson (GM he claims) called me on 9/15/24. During inspection the fresh water tank was leaking, they would replace with a new tank from a 2025. I arrived at Hill Top 45 minutes prior to close intentionally and asked to see the camper repair being made. Derek Johnson refused even though the shop was closed. Derek J rude response: Customers are not allowed in the service area, he then rudely pointed at the sign, twice stated he didn't know which camper I owned. I wasn't allowed to see the camper until pick up. Single female purchases a 2017 Forest River Rockwood 2506s that didn't pass DOT inspection 30 minutes after picking the camper up from Hill Top! Camper swirved and jumped uncotrolably. I have over 25 years experience CDL experience pulling all trailers. DOT Inspection reports failed due to these reasons: As per Derek Johnson they only warranty the condition of the camper, not anything below. Only what sits on the frame! I believe this camper was tampered with and made to disconnect from my truck! The fresh water tank they installed is only sitting on the thin cross members. It isn't even touching the side support of the frame. It's sliding around and not secure at all. This tank could have fallen out of this camper and caused serious injury or death. There were 3 radial tires and 1 Bias tire on the camper when I picked it up. Everyone knows you don't mix tire ratings on towing trailers. One (R) rated tire has sun rot, outer sidewall of tire. It's ready to blow! The tongue latch was adjusted all the way back. The latch while in lock position doesn't even touch the ball. It has been just resting on the ball. The breakaway cable that should lock the camper breaks if ever disconnected is inoperable and not even attached. The (D) rated tire was over inflated by 20 lbs, making it crown on center. All the tires have a slow leak. I've had to air them up every 2 days. When I opened the door at the State Highway Patrol Station A 5' heavy piece of crown molding trim fell off the wall. It clearly was pulled off the inside of the camper then pushed on by hand. This is a partial list but enough to have Hill top assume responsibility for the repairs for the camper to be brought back for a final inspection. Not the case! Derek Johnson has given me every reason to not assume responsibilty to make the repairs to keep everyone on the road safe! Derek has accused me of expecting too much, threatened to contact my finance company to cancel my loan, threatened to take the camper back that I own and cancel my contract whatever that means? I purchased the camper under an agreement, not a contract! Now he's agreeing to let me keep the camper, lol... if I bring it back to Hill Top and have the fresh water tank installed. I had a police report written on Derek Johnson many threats he made against me. I will allow Hill top Camper to install the new tank then have the camper re-inspected with the DOT and another certified camper shop to be sure it's done safely. Derek Johnson refuses to do anything about the illegal tires on the camper. I will be taking him to court to have this resolved. Here are some photos taken at the State Highway Patrol Station during inspection. If anyone feels their camper has been tampered with or the work has been done less than industry manufacturer requirements you have the option to have it inspected for free. Don't bring it home than wait. Bring it to a station as soon as you leave the shop! These incidents against the camper owners need to stop. It's endangering all motorist including the camper owner and family. If Yelp removes your post.....there are several other sites you can post your complaint on. It seems Hill Top camper has control over YELP and it's one sided policies! I will keep this complaint updated as to the progress of Hill Top Camper actions once I bring the camper in for a redo! I will be video recording my entire encounter, just like I have been since day one! Ask Hill Top Camper...where are your reviews? The reviews start and stop between 2015 being the oldest and only 8 to date? Something wrong here! If you want your camping purchase experience to be enjoyable, honest, professional with certified mechanics and knowledgeable Service Department willing to help then your at the wrong place! Hilltop Campers & RV (Rochester) may have moved to a new, fancy location on Hwy 52 north of Rochester but their parts\service department is still worthless. I tried to exchange a carbon monoxide alarm because I discovered the alarm had already expired after I had open the package. I was told the 30 return policy had expired and they wouldn't take it back. I purchased a RV there a few years back but will not be doing business there ever again. read more

We recently purchased our first travel trailer camper from Hilltop Trailer Sales in Rochester, MN. We put a deposit down so that they would hold it for us and let me tell you....that was a long 3 weeks for my nerves. Once we arrived at the dealership we were very impressed with the service that we received from all of the staff! They went above and beyond with making sure we were satisfied and had a very good understanding of how the camper operated. They also presented us with a gift card which was a very pleasant surprise. He had the part and declined when the price there was too outrageous. He sent us to Menards where we paid 1/3 of what we would have. I would strongly recommend hilltop! Thanks for the response but your answer is inaccurate. This was a very simple service request; repair a leaking water valve and repack wheel bearings. The first time I called I should have been given an appointment or told you were too busy in the near term to accept any more work. Instead I was told multiple times I would be contacted and never was called back. NW Campers scheduled an appointment in less than 5 minutes for the following week. Their service work was done ahead of schedule and I have confidence the work was done correctly. A large factor in purchasing an RV is service, especially during the warranty period. There are many systems on an RV which may require service. Due to this experience I would not consider a purchase from your Rochester location. read more

The WORST Customer Service we've ever seen! We have a 2020 Jayco Pinnacle 37MDQS that had a tire blow out and suspension break on our way home from camping over Labor Day weekend. A State Trooper deemed it unsafe to drive after we had fixed the tire (due to the break in the suspension) and offered to lead/follow us to the nearest place to have it fixed. We knew that Hilltop Camper and RV in Rochester was a Jayco dealer and since they were nearby, we decided to pull it there while the State Trooper followed us. Since it was Labor Day, Hilltop was not open. We felt we had no choice but to pull the camper around the small gate and leave it in their wide-open parking lot and call on Tuesday morning to explain what had happened. On Tuesday, we spoke to their Service Department and they told us that they would get it in on Tuesday or Wednesday to take a look at it. On Wednesday, we received a call from Dave Pearo (part-owner of Hilltop) who was VERY rude and abrasive and told us that we had until Friday at 5pm to have our camper out of his parking lot or he would have it towed to the impound lot. We explained very calmly what had happened to our camper while we had our two young kids in the vehicle, and a State Trooper advising us to not drive far and get it to the nearest location to be repaired. Dave Pearo had no compassion or understanding for our situation and told us that we were trespassing on his private property by dropping the camper off while they were closed and proceeded to say that since we didn't purchase the camper from Hilltop that he would NOT be doing the service work on it and to get it out of his lot before it's towed to the impound. This company has the WORST customer service that we've ever witnessed, and they are obviously all about the initial sale and the money. Zero compassion for customers in need of help. Very sad way to operate a business! read more

We recently purchased a 2015 Jayco 29MV class C from Hilltops Rochester location. Derek was our salesperson and his professional nature and performance was over the top compared to the service we have received from other dealers. Prior to purchasing, the technicians answered the questions in a friendly manner. Casey in parts was helpful with the parts, as we have made parts purchases for our travel trailer prior to selling it as well as product knowledge of their inventory. We ended up financing and insuring the RV all through Hilltop and their contacts. It was a one stop shop for us. It was very convenient. We have not required any service yet, but if and when we do, I believe we will be treated as we have to this point. I have and will continue to recommend Hilltop based on what was displayed to our family. I am a strong believer in supporting local business instead of making purchases on the Internet. In Rochester for a Mayo Clinic appointment got there on a Saturday and our bedroom slide would not work. Hilltop is about 1/2 mile from the rv park. There serice department was closed on Saturday, but two sales men came down to the park and helped get the slide. When we got ready to leave at the end of the week a service tech came down and got it back. Great people to do business with. read more

I just purchased a Thor Super C from Hilltop RV. All I can say is I have been accommodated with nothing but professional service from start to go. Dave, Derick,Tom, and Dan have gone out of their way to make everything go like clock work. All my phone calls and questions have been handle in a timely manner and the answers helped get me started as a new coach owner. I am now having them install a tow bar and base plate for my auto to tow behind. I could have had this done in town but with the service I have received I am willing to drive the distance for the crew at Hilltop to complete this. Thanks to everyone again. read more
