Standard Indian food buffet lunch. Not a ton of choices but all very good. Can't beat $9.99 price. Outdoor seating if you want. Point at your table, grab a plate, eat until you faint. I've only gotten delivery from this place, but my girlfriend and I consider ourselves connoisseurs of the foods of greater Hindustan, and we are very, very impressed. This is the only decent Indian restaurant in the Concord/Walnut Creek/PH area, and probably in a wider area, too. You have to go down to Dublin/Pleasanton/Livermore or across the hills into Berkeley or Oakland to get anything just as good. The only thing that's a bit unreliable are the kormas, but everything else is just great. You can tell the quality of an Indian restaurant with high reliability, by the way, by the quality of the pakoras. If the pakoras are soggy and taste like dirty oil, the rest of the place's food is probably no good. The pakoras here are pretty damned good. Crispy and clean-tasting. And they deliver! This is one of those tucked out of the way almost hard to find places. I looked on Yelp at the reviews and thought we should give it a shot. Oh, man, it's so good. One of my favorite places to dine. I love coming here with my father. We love how inexpensive the food is and how much of it we get. The food tastes, looks and smells delicious. I usually order one order of butter chicken, an order of rice and also 2 orders of garlic naan. This is more than enough food for two people with a big appetite. I'm not impressed. I ordered the chicken curry with rice and naan. The food was ok to eat but they don't give you very much. The curry was basically 4 or 5 chunks of chicken and then a lot of sauce. Not nearly enough chicken. They also burnt most of the naan. I won't be going back here again, and I recommend everyone else stay away. read more

Went here for dinner to use a Groupon and was amazed at how good the food is. We ordered the Chicken Mo Mo and Butter Chicken. Both of these dishes were superb. We will definitely go back. After grabbing some sweet drinks across the way at Sharetea, my honey and I decided to pop in to take a look at the menu since we had a hankering for some good local cuisine. After taking a few moments to glance at the menu before deciding to eat in, we took a seat and then the journey into culinary heaven began. Being familiar with Indian cuisine, I had to go with my favorite, butter chicken. I elected to have it at medium level of spice (you can choose mild, medium, or hot). If you like your food with a bit of kick like I do, choose the medium spice level, as it's a great way to experience the great spices that are used. My honey ordered her fave, the tandoori chicken, which came out very moist and flavorful. We also ordered one order of basmati rice, which is enough to feed two hungry peeps like us. Oh, if you are a fan of naan, then you'll be delighted here, as they have several different variations of naan which they cook up fresh. We had the garlic naan and the flavors were just right, not too subtle nor overbearing. All of the workers are very friendly, especially Vesu, who allowed us to meet the cooks who prepared our delicious meal to thank them for their great work. Food was very good! Just don't order delivery. We were missing an item and when we called, it was hard to communicate. Then, they said it would take too long to send what was missing because of how many orders they had. So they said we should take a refund but the problem is the refund comes from the Eat24 app, not cash or back on card. Not a HUGE deal but I don't think delivery should be offered if they are slammed and can't fix their mistakes. Not to mention, dealing with Eat24 instead of them sort of makes you feel shrugged off as a customer and that sucks considering we just spent a lot on their food. Best Indian (or Himalayan) Food in Concord! As someone who lived in Berkeley for 17 years and have had amazing Indian food (also in London), I was looking for something closer to where I live. Of the places in downtown Concord area, Swagat, Naan N Curry, and Himalayan Cuisine, my girlfriend and I like Himalayan Cuisine better than the others. We have not tried the lunch buffet and cannot comment on that, but the curry and tikka masala dishes at dinner are THE BEST we have had in the area. Someone posted that it is expensive, but I beg to differ and had 2 entrees, appetizer, naan, 2 orders of rice, and 2 drinks for $43 dollars. Portions are slightly less than other places, but food was definitely more flavorful than the others. It has become our favorite place to get Indian food in the Concord/Benecia/Vallejo area, and I would highly recommend it if you're interested in delicious Indian food. read more

I visited Himalayan Cuisine over the weekend. The food was great, we ordered veggie momos, mushroom Matar paneer, and malai kofta. They serve with a smile and the prices are very reasonable, malai kofta and the paneer dish was the best I have had in a long time. The wheat roti and garlic naan was perfect and melt in your mouth. The momos were very average, like they were made some time ago. All in all, I will definitely be back +1 was the parking lot in front of the restaurant, parking can be a struggle in Concord. read more

Found this place thanks to Yelp. We called half an hour before closing to check if they could accommodate our party of six. When we got there, the wait staff was very courteous but the cook came out at the staff and yelled at them in front of us that he was going to be late going home. Seeing the chef's behavior, we were worried that he may spit in our food! The curry here is pretty good. The only thing keeping the rating from going higher is their naan is just ok and the atmosphere of the place isn't the best in the world. Not totally their fault tho, they're hidden away in a little hole in the wall and it has that rough kinda feel to the place. Me and my best friend went there. We had chicken MoMo, butter chicken, goat curry, basket of bread, a bowl of basmati white rice and a large tajMahal beer. Thank you Chef- every item was flavorful and we enjoyed. We got offered milk tea or coffee when our orders were getting prepared but we didn't.
