Himalayan Fried Pork Noodle Mango lassi

I like this place. Portions are huge, prices are fair. You just order at the counter. My food was ready in less than 5 minutes and I took it to-go. It's a pretty small place and very casual. The pork fried noodles cured my hangover. The mango lassi is amazing.

This is a very convenient small restaurant. There is plenty of seating with areas for groups of 6-8. The staff was very nice and patient as we looked over the menu. I ended up ordering the Himalayan Beef Thenthuk and Chicken Momo Dumplings. Everything was absolutely delicious. The dumplings and Thenthuk took longer to come out than any of the dishes my friends had ordered, but not by much. The bathrooms were uncomfortably hot which is the only thing keeping this from a 5-star review. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want a quick, affordable, and delicious meal!

Curry Cafe is a super casual vibe and does not have any servers or anything, so you're just ordering from the counter. I came here for lunch with a friend and ordered the pho as well as the steamed dumplings and left very satisfied. Pricing was super fair and the food was good. I've definitely had better pho before, but it was still tasty and cheap. The dumplings were good.

Went for the first time and the atmosphere is very cozy. The cashier was friendly and helpful as I asked her for recommendations. The chicken samosa was amazing, but the pork curry was a bit bland. I definitely will come back to try more of the menu.

We were driving through the area and searched yelp for something different to please our tastebuds!! We found it! This little gem is hidden in a strip mall and offers some delicious food!! We started off with the vegetable samosa yummy!!!! Then we had the butter chicken and the chicken tiki masala. The service was fast, the food was the perfect temperature and the portions were huge! We sat in silence and enjoyed the delicious flavors. Great place so check it out!!!

My friend and I came here on his recommendation, and it absolutely blew me away. I would have never even considered trying a Himalayan place before, and I'm so glad he convinced me to try it. This place is set up in a fast casual food sort of way, and the menu is simple enough so that even a Himalayan-food newbie like myself can quickly figure out what to order. They have spiciness indicators to give you fair warning about what items you likely would (or wouldn't) enjoy, and I picked a more-than-medium-but-still-quite-hot dish, the chili chicken. While there wasn't enough water in the world to quench my thirst after eating this, it was still delicious and a very pleasant hot sensation, with just the right mix of spices and sauces to strike your palate the right way. The service was great and very pleasant, although I had a difficult time understanding one of the explanations of the counter person. They brought our order to our table and checked up on us later as well, quite good for a restaurant of this nature. Pricing was extremely fair given the sheer volume of chicken and rice they give you; definitely enough for two meals, even if you eat heartily like I do. A word to the wise: I love spicy food and figured I'd have no challenge here, though the food here is, to put it in a word: fiery. Again, I loved it, though it might help you to think of the mild here as medium elsewhere and their medium as pretty darn hot. With that warning out of the way, I highly recommend you give this place a shot, it's unique and unquestionably delicious! Overall: 5.0 stars ---- Pros: - EXCELLENT food. - Great portions and awesome value for the prices. - Nice service, with great table service for a fast casual place. - Plenty of parking nearby in the mall lot. Cons: - None, really. Just be warned that the spicy is truly spicy here, and when it comes to food tastes, you know what they say: you're either hot or you're not!

It is in a shopping plaza and there is nothing fancy about this place, but, man, the food is amazing! Served piping hot with delicious flavors. The staff is very nice. A simple menu but well-worth stopping in.

Food is okay but I won't be a repeater for this restaurant. The service was good and the price is very reasonable for what you get.

If you want homey food, THIS is the place to be! My roommate and I were craving rice-based dishes, and we found ourselves here. The menu is limited, but I think they focus on making their select dishes as good and authentic as possible. We both ordered butter chicken, and I ordered lassi. It was ready-made (there are some made-to-order dishes too though) and served to us on a styrofoam plate and plastic tray. The simple presentation might put some people off, but having had and loved street food in foreign countries (and American food trucks), this was a little slice of heaven for me. The food was absolutely delicious and so, so filling. I don't have that big of an appetite, but I honestly surprised myself by finishing the generous portions--it was that good. I'll definitely be back soon!

A staple when I visit Blacksburg. The curry is a unique taste and is a large portion for the price that you pay. It is served over rice and you get it when you order They also have a house made hot sauce that pairs nicely with the chicken that you have to ask for when you pay. I usually ask for less sauce since the sauce is pretty runny. This way the rice isn't soaked in the same sauce as the chicken is. Chicken for the curry chicken is white meat! It's not the best curry ive ever had by any means but for the area, it is a good value and it is a comforting meal.

    Chicken Fried Rice

I had a solid and satisfying meal here during a quick stop in Blacksburg, on recommendation by a friend who went to VT. The chicken fried rice was really good! I thought the sweet and spicy pork curry was pretty good too, although my friend thought the pork was a little dry. The only thing was the person working at the counter forgot to give us our pork curry, so I had to ask again (but it came out quickly). Overall, I'd recommend trying it!

I have lived in Blacksburg my whole life and ODB has been a go-to bakery for most locals for a while. Serving a variety of pastries, cakes, breads, and offering lunch, brunch, and dinners. They have a lovely variety of options for customers to enjoy. The bakery primarily serves French pastries and caters to French cuisine at their meals. Although they offer more than just French inspired food. In the past, my family and I have enjoyed grabbing their cakes for celebrations and individual pastries from their pastries case. But recently, they have not been up to par and have left us very unsatisfied. The cakes have been dry and do not taste fresh at all. On my latest visit I tried a couple of things, all of which were cold, with dry, crumbly textures. It was evident to me that these pastries were not made day-of and had clearly sat in a fridge for at least one night (if not more). I found this to be extremely disappointing as ODB used to have a reputation of serving FRESH baked goods and pastries. I cannot attest for the hot food they serve during meal times, but the pastries and cakes have gone down hill. Over the winter break, I had their NY cheesecake bar (which I've gotten in the past and it was phenomenal) and it fell so short of what I remembered. It was lacking flavor and the crust at the bottom was dry. This past visit, I tried a Napoleon (also have had this before and really enjoyed it), a specialty cake, a scone, and a couple macarons and macaroons. The Napoleon was so cold and the puff pastry was super stale, it practically fell apart the second I tried to eat it. The specialty individual cake slice was also very cold and the cake wasn't moist at all. Again, indicating it was not fresh or made day-of. The scone was also a disappointment as it was dry and lacked any moisture. I thought the macrons and macaroons were fine though. While most of this was disappointing, the price didn't help either. Nothing was inexpensive and the quality was completely missing. So disappointing to leave this review as I used to enjoy coming here for sweet treats. It's sad to see that ODB is unfortunately not what it used to be. I will note that the service is very friendly and they do their best dealing with customers. Could have been more efficient, but I did go during a busier time. I hope they can turn things around, but until then I do not think I will be retuning soon.

The Cellar is one of those restaurants where you might wonder, "Do they have ...?" And the answer…read morewill probably be, "Yes, they do have that on the menu." They have gyros, meatball subs, pizza, burgers, crab cakes, kabobs, chicken parmesan and lots more. I get a little squinky when I see a multiple-page menu with lots of random foods on it. But I visited with a group, and so I was locked into this place, whether I liked it or not. A quick internet and Yelp search told me that the things to get at The Cellar are the Greek gyro and the pizzas. I didn't want a whole pie just for myself, so I ordered the gyro. The Greek gyro was really good! It is lamb and beef in a pita, topped with tzatziki, lettuce, onion and tomato. All of the veggies were super fresh, and the pita was warm and pillowy. It's served with chips and a pickle. They actually have quite a few Greek or Mediterranean-adjacent items on the menu. One of the people in my group ordered the Black & Blue Salad, which is basically a salad with steak and bleu cheese on it, plus lots of vegetables. It was huge! She ate a lot of it, and it looked like she barely made a dent. When she put the leftovers in the to-go container, she almost needed two containers! It became a running joke that day and for a couple of days afterward about whether or not she actually finished that salad. This is also the location for the 6Pak Bottle Shop, which is basically a liquor store but intensely curated. They have a nice selection of craft beers and wine. There is also a bar downstairs, which I didn't have the pleasure of visiting. Another great thing about The Cellar is that they are open late! Sometimes until midnight, and sometimes until 2 a.m. I guess that makes sense, as they are located basically right across the street from Virginia Tech.

It was clean and maintained. It was a treat to meet the owner in front of the tavern tending to landscaping needs. The historic homes facade presents beautifully. There is also outdoor seating. Our party of seven enjoyed a Sunday brunch while knowing little about the establishment. We were promptly greeted with a smile and menus and seated on the front room. Each of the four interior rooms has a fireplace and nostalgic photos adorn the walls. They also have a small bar with a focus on bourbon. The menu had one hit after another with authentic Southern cooking. The description calls it a "Traditional Regional Farmers Menu."No question the fried chicken is the hero. Five out of seven got the fried chicken. Others the chili and meatloaf. A plate of biscuits and cornbread were placed on the table after drinks placed. The history of the tavern on the menu is worthy of your time. The owner, originally from Blacksburg moved from California to restore for his own home. Later opening the restaurant. His goal to keep the structure original and true to purpose as a tavern. The owner himself comes from a family of tavern proprietors. I digress too long! The FOOD ALREADY!!! Well as you have probably already guessed it was impressive and exceeded my expectations. Every main, every side was a home run. From the mash potatoes & gravy to the macaroni & cheese, backed apples and green beans, to the rarely found succotash. All fabulous! Only starter was ham biscuits which were good. Mains of chili and meatloaf strong. But it was the fried chicken that brings local and tourist alike in the door. The chicken was cooked up to perfection and deliciously moist The breading was exceptional as well with no dripping grease and a medium crispy finish. The only desert ordered was the brownie & ice-cream. So yummy! The owner Daniel checked in on us before departing which made our experience even more special. The Blacksburg Tavern is a Southwestern Virginia gem that's a must to dine at. Checkout was efficient and prices affordable for large quality dishes. I will return later this year and hope to catch live music. Highly recommend.
