Decided to try Himalayan Spice Frisco despite a couple reviews and I'm super happy that we did. The atmosphere was quaint and charming. The service was excellent. We asked several questions about the authentic Himalayan dishes from Nepal and learned about many of the traditional dishes. We decided to try the Tikka Masala Momo Chicken (Himalayan) with garlic naan and Tikka Masala (Indian) with butter naan. Overall we really liked this restaurant. Food was very fresh and the service was excellent. You could tell they really cared and overall restaurant was clean and new feeling. Everything we had was jam packed with flavor. + Momo sampler was great + Chicken tikka masala was excellent + Kids butter chicken was good portioned + Chow mein was tasty + Garlic naan was good = Lamb Rogan Josh was good but I made the mistake of ordering medium and that was super spicy for me. Beautiful ambience, very inviting. Their customer service was superb. We dined in over the weekend and loved most of their food options being served. The banana wrapped fish was amazing with great flavors. The Goat Rogan Josh was very tasty but very small portion for the price. The mix platter of Momos was good combination of different flavors. Momos were soft and pan fried crispy. Nicely seasoned. The chicken lollipop was average, could have used some schezwaan sauce in marination. But overall great flavors and superb presentation, pictures might not do justice with tastes. Their tandoori roti was a delight and the food was not too overly garlicy like usual Nepalese food. I'm writing this as I'm eating the leftovers and reminded of how fantastic the food is. I went on a Monday night with my family. Even though we went on a slow night, everything we ordered came out timely and fresh. We ordered veggie momos, 2 lamb curries, lentil soup, and dessert. No complaints with anything. The highlight I'd say was the kheer dessert with mango ice cream. It's not at all what I expected but in a good way. Mildly sweet and nutty. Very refreshing. Our waitress was outstanding. Awesome unique Nepali restaurant. Their food is well prepared, unique, and delicious. The only thing I would say is a negative would be that their portions are quite small for the price paid. I've had the grilled sekuwa here and it was really good. Super tender and juicy. 8/10 only bc of the portion The mixed momos were pretty good and left me satisfied. 8/10 The avocado appetizer was very unique and I really liked the texture and the sauce pairing with it. 8.5/10 This is one of my favorite Nepali spots. Himalayan Spice hasn't been opened for long so we gave them a try. They are known for their Momos (dumplings) so we got the Special Momo Platter which serves up four different styles of dumplings - steamed, fried, tandoori, and chili. I liked them all except the chili as the peppers were too much and distracted from the dumplings. However, it was plenty for $20. We enjoyed the Goat Curry as it had lots of meat and flavor but were not a fan of the Duck Chhoila (cube). We questioned how the duck would be cubed but it wasn't a good idea because they smashed the duck into a rectangular prism making it really tough to chew. The mango lassi was refreshing and delicious so definitely get that. read more

Since moving back from the northeast, we've been looking for good momos that we don't have to trek to Irving for. Thankfully we've found a delicious option!! Chili momo was nice and flavorful without being too spicy. Loved the fried momo with the chicken filling. Johl momo was the least favorite, bc it was just served in a bowl of the same sauce that was served with everything else. Steamed momo is always classic, and the veggie filling was great. Also got some basic palak paneer and butter chicken with rice and garlic naan, and all delicious which made awesome leftovers. Can't wait to come back up here! def work the drive up the tollway. Himalayan Spice did not disappoint! We've been waiting for them to open and I think I was their first real customer....lol! Anyway, the decor is gorgeous and very inviting. Stopped in last night with zero expectations (Frisco has an array of Indian fusion restaurants and they usually never execute) but was pleasantly surprised by how everything went. While this restaurant is tagged as a Himalayan restaurant their true Himalayan/Nepalese options are quite limited, that being said we focused on ordering what's specific to the cuisine. We got 2 types of momos, the steamed chicken and the Jhol momo which were both good. The dumplings were meaty and the filling was seasoned well without overwhelming the flavors. The dips (we got 3) were a good way to supplement them. For entree, we ordered the chicken seekuwa which is apparently authentic and it did taste very good and not similar to an Indian tandoori or tikka style dish. We also ordered the goat curry which while tasty, tasted like any other dish like a vindaloo dish minus the potatoes. Also pretty sure they served us lamb instead of goat but not a biggie. Service was a bit lacking, they saw we had dirty plates before the entrees arrive and didn't bother to change them till we asked. Bar situation is a bit odd, they have several bottles of liquor on display but when I asked if they had any beer, they lady looked at me like I asked for something crazy. lol. Unfortunately missed the mark with this one. While the interior is very clean and pretty, and the waiters are very friendly, the tap water tasted really dirty. After ordering, I waited ~35min for my food when I was the only one there. Then, trying to call attention to a waiter is difficult because they are no where to be found. There's few actual Nepali dishes on the menu, it's mostly Indian. The pani puri was exceptionally bland, so maybe it's not for Indian people either. The whole experience confused me with who the target demographic is. I hope this review is feedback for them to improve. read more

Now coming to food - steamed momo were good but little cold and after he served there was no server or waitress to help me with change in the order so had to wait till the manager showed up.
