Came back for dinner and my experience this time was very different than the previous. It was super clean, you can tell the restaurant took the feedback to heart and made changes. Service was really great, like last time, very attentive. They had a whole new menu! Ordered a few different things this time around and the food was good, a few things were a smidge heavy handed with the sauce/rice but overall good. The blueberry cheesecake is a must for dessert. Sashimi was surprisingly fresh, for a strip mail chain. YMMV, guessing we hit it on a good day. Service was fine. Rice was bad. We're talking grocery store sushi rice levels here. Which is fine for a packaged deal in a grocery store. Not okay for a sit down restaurant. Atmosphere is 90's sports bar-eqsue. When people say the place is americanized they're not kidding. On our way out from North Bend/Snoqualmie area, we decided to stop into Trapper's for lunch! If you know me, you know I'm a Trapper's stannnn (sorry not sorry) and this is probably one of the only locations I haven't been to. First impression is that this is hands down the smallest location I've been to! Their Covington location might be comparable but I think NB is a little tinier. Definitely cozy and the decor is reminiscent of their old Kent location (RIP). As per usual, service was kind and we were seated quickly. Rolls took a while to come out surprisingly, but they did have a full AYCE bar so I'm chalking it up to that being the reason. We started with the seaweed salad (always a fave) as well as the gyoza. For rolls we shared the Captain Crunch, while my fiancé got one of his usuals and I got my usual which is the Skywalker. All the rolls were delicious as always, matching the usual quality we've always experience at Trapper's! If you're a sucker for spicy tuna like me, you've GOTTA try the Skywalker. I recommend it to everyone that mentions this place. It's always topped high with torched spicy tuna and everything tastes so fresh always! Glad to have experienced this location, because this'll definitely be the stop after future nearby hikes. read more

Two rolls out of three ordered were a total mess: they tasted awful, they were different rolls, but they had the same ingriednts inside, with something weird in them, they would fall, everything would come out of it. not sure, may be, they hired a new chief, but got really disappointed and sad. Wish I thought about taking a picture before posting. I ordered the chicken teriyaki to go. I ate the cucumber salad and soup (most of it spilled out in the bag) and then went to eat the main course thinking it would be enough to fill me up. When I opened the container it was a scoop of rice with about 8-10 pieces of what might have been boiled chicken first and then seared? Not sure but super bland and to top it off no teriyaki sauce so the chicken was bland. They did give packets of soy sauce but that's not really the same and super salty. Trapper's is our go-to sushi spot in North Bend. It is located in a strip mall with a Safeway and has PLENTY of parking. There are tv screens on every wall in the restaurant, so you're likely to be able to watch a sports game while you're there if one is playing. We love that for a fixed price, you can have AYCE sushi (and appetizers) at the sushi counter and have a chef prepare fresh rolls for you. Each roll is a FULL roll and serving. Just ordering about three sushi rolls will pay for the AYCE value. The service is always very friendly, and we enjoy the rolls the chefs create. They do have a happy hour with discounted drinks and rolls as well, but the AYCE service is not included. read more

I walked in here randomly being in the area to check out the outlets. Service was great the hostess being very welcoming and explaining the different options and what the all you can eat option included. I ended up choosing that and decently priced with appetizers and unlimited rolls. I got some miso soup, dumplings, and the squid salad. I was impressed with the portion and quality of the squid salad. I got 2 rolls and was completely full. One was rainbow and the other was a combo roll with scallops on top. I will say in terms of taste i was not as satisfied. Something about the rice and sauce didn't blend well so I felt it was average flavor. To be fair I know it's all you can eat so I know I wasn't going to get supreme quality sushi. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated rather quickly. Within 10 minutes of being seated, the place became packed. Guests were waiting outside for seats to open. It was nice to see different t types of sauce on roll, such as chili sauce, teriyaki sauce, and Covington sauce. I was confused that there was no Eel sauce. My favorite was the Volcano roll. My big complaint was that we felt like ordering from the sushi chef was awkward. He rarely looked up from what he was doing and seemed like we were inconveniencing him. Fresh sushi with tons of creative rolls. They break the traditional idea of sushi with some of their unique creations, like the Seoul Roll, topped with bulogigi beef. Shout out to Trapper's for really taking care of their gluten free and celiac customers. The experience was overall good, but the THUNDERBIRD is no longer on the menu which is a huge disappointment. Also when ordering the bento box the sushi roll option to switch to an avocado roll instead of the spicy tuna was not available and we were met with the response that the the system was not able to make those changes. Overall it was disheartening since I have gone to Trappers for over 20 years since the Covington location. Hope we can continue to vote to bring back some of the classics! read more

I ate lunch today at Trapper's and was very disappointed. I did the all you can eat lunch and started with Gyoza which were over cooked and greasy. Next I asked for a Mountain roll which was much smaller than in the past and the crab looked like it had been ground instead of shredded as in the past. Also, the Sushi chef left off the wasabi as well as the pickled ginger. Next I ordered a Mt Rainier and again the portion size was much smaller especially the small scallop which barely covered the roll. Again the Sushi chef forgot the wasabi and the pickled ginger. Another patron also asked so he was doing it on purpose. Considering when I first start eating at Sushi Town in Bonney Lake the quality, quantity, attention to detail has truly diminished and the cost of the lunch was $30 dollars plus a $10 tip which I am hoping the chef took as an insult considering I used to leave the same amount as the meal as a tip for the chef. I moved away 6 years ago and Trapper's has certainly lost their edge in Northbend. I may or may not try another while I am visiting during the holiday but I will not recommend the Northbend Trapper's any longer. read more

Giant water cups. It's one thing to be invited and enjoy a meal but it was wonderful to be cared for in such a welcoming way that it immediately felt like home. She told me about her 140 lb dog, Sadie, and their future trips on the best coast (oops I mean, west coast ). Is the food good? Yes, it is! Downright delicious if I say so myself! More of a sushi & izakaya vibe. Casual attire. I mean this in an endearing way, this was some of the best gringo sushi I've had There's a lot of creativity behind some of these rolls. The bad reviews on here are prob from jerks who didn't ask for recommendations and got mad they didn't like what they ordered. Believe it or not I asked the chef for recommendations, we assessed my flavor profile and came to a conclusion (see pics). 10/10 recommend. My only regret was not coming with with a bigger appetite! Excellent selection of appetizers and rolls galore. Stop scrolling and GPS here already bro. Plenty of tvs on the walls to watch some sports. The monthly special roll was decent and had threateningly spicy sounding sauces that were pretty mild in the end. The best part for me was the sliced clam in a rice vinegar sauce. I loved the sushi roll I got although I cannot recall which it was. But it was fresh and tasty and just all around yum. So why the star off? Well, I walked out paying $21 with tip for that one roll, and was still hungry. You can pay $35 for all you can eat, but that was too steep for a post-hike lunch. Omg guys. This. Place. Is. Addictive. Is it the extensive gluten free menu? Possibly. Is it that every roll is swimming in deliciously slurpable sauce? Probably. Is it that it's only walking distance from my new digs? Definitely. The husband actually gets credited for discovering our newest sush crush as he was living the trophy husband life while I was out working. After lunching here with his fabulous mid week no work life it was all he could talk about..so we hit it up for dinner too. It's a smaller and not too flashy restaurant chain in the area with several other locations. Bar seating with TVs and the game is usually on. A great happy hour menu and all you can eat sushi. If you eat at one of these times, it's a pretty sweet deal for the amount of food you get. I've enjoyed the gf teriyaki bowls they have and the gluten free roll list is pretty legit. What a great way to end a sunny Tuesday in the PNW, a rare occasion lately. Trapper's sushi came highly recommended from my coworkers and they were spot on! Lots of interesting combinations in the rolls, with of course local sports team names, and some tasty twists on some old names. Definitely going to be back to try a few more different rolls. It was Happy Hour and they have Sapporo on draft.. so that's the beginning. After some thought and tough choosing, I decided on the 'Mt. Rainier' with crystal shrimp (something new and delicious) and salmon, tuna, and albacore on top, with spicy cook scallops and green onions inside, lots yummy taste combinations and the Seahawk roll..Eel, cucumber, teriyaki and avocado.. delicious!! Plenty of ginger and wasabi too! Service was excellent and fast and friendly. Added another Manny's IPA, another local favorite, good stuff. I believe it's a local chain with other locations. Very good service! Roll with scallops pictured was absolutely delicious! I can't remember the name. The chili oil sauce that went with the gyoza tasted good but I don't believe it was traditional, it tasted like it had tajin in it, I didn't try the gyoza. The miso was very salty but had good overall flavor and the vegan roll on the top right of the menu on the back was amazing! I loved it so much.
