My daughters and I had been craving for Indian food. It just so happens we had an opportunity to…read morego so we search Yelp and found Flamin Curry 2 in the Long Beach area we were at. The Yelpers didn't disappoint with the high ratings and reviews of this place. We were excited to see that Flamin Curry 2 had a fast food option in which you can choose 1, 2, or 3 combo as well as Ala carte. We were able to choose what we wanted to eat and sample each other's choices. I was doubly elated when I asked if any food contains any nuts as one of my daughters is highly allergic to some nuts. I was told that in other restaurants, usually the sit down full service Indian restaurants, there may be nuts, but not in this "fast food" Indian restaurant. Our server said all the food in their restaurant has no nuts at all. All 3 of us chose a 2-choice meal which had basmati rice and naan bread included. All of the food we chose were tasty, flavors were authentic, and had satisfied our cravings. I especially enjoyed the naan bread and thought it was the best one I've ever tasted. It tasted so fresh. I loved the texture and butter flavor in my mouth. I chose chicken curry and tandoori, one of my daughters chose butter chicken and black pepper chicken, and my other daughter also chose butter chicken and palak paneer. My daughters also ordered mango lassi (which we were told were made by hand at the store even the yogurt used for the drink) and I had coconut water. The service was wonderful. The servers were very friendly and helpful especially as they found out it was our first time there. They were very open and patient answering our questions. They also seemed to have hand-made and delivered the best naan bread I've had to our table. The ambience of the place is very casual. It was a small place, but had enough tables that people can sit and enjoy the freshly-cooked meal. There was also a TV in which a FIFA World Cup Soccer was playing, so I was able to enjoy the food fresh and even watch the soccer game. What a winner!!!! I would definitely eat there again when I get a chance to and will highly recommend it to all my friends.

Flamin Curry is the only one of its kind on this side of time, and while I'm all for that, my…read moreexperience here was a little lackluster. I ordered the 2 item combo ($14) - saag paneer and chicken masala. The saag paneer was incredibly watery and came with one lonely piece of paneer. I did think the chicken tikka faired better. It had good flavor and you get a good amount of chicken, though I did think the chicken tasted a little dry. The best thing I tasted were the veggie samosas. You get 2 pieces for $6. Ours were cooked to order and tasted nice and fresh. Dipped in the mint chutney and this made for a great bite. For a take put situation that doesn't require a trip down the 91, Flamin Curry does its job. I'll have to come back to give it another go.

Wow! Pista House has been hiding from me. I'm so happy to have found it. Though I ordered delivery…read moreI can tell the dishes were made with love and their in person service would be just as great. I ordered their basic dishes but their flavors were far beyond that. The Garlic Naan were freshly made. The Tandoori Chicken arrived perfectly cooked, tender with the right amount char (though I did have to chop it up pieces myself). The curries, both Chicken Tikka Masala and Spiced Goat, were deliciously prepared and packed with all sorts of spices. What surprised me most was the Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biriyani. This is a must try from the menu. I didn't dine in at the restaurant, but from already posted pictures it looks like a comfortable and inviting place. I'm looking forward to trying more dishes from their menu.

To make matters worse, the cashier was rude and was yelling at customers, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. They also didn't have mango lassi available, which was disappointing. The food tasted alright, but nothing special. Honestly, it would have been faster to go home and make the meal myself. Better customer service, respectful staff, more accurate wait times, and keeping menu items in stock would make a big difference.

If you love Middle Eastern-inspired flavors, you need to try Bombay Pizza House. I had heard great…read morethings from reviews and even had family member recommend their pizza, so we finally decided to give it a shot. For our first visit, my daughter suggested the Tandoori Tikka Pizza (Tandoori Chicken). We also ordered the Halal Chicken Wings, Garlic Naan, and a small salad. Right away, the smell when you walk in is incredible, and the staff greets you immediately, which made a great first impression. Now for the food -- the pizza was delicious with the perfect amount of toppings. The sweet and tangy BBQ sauce really brought everything together. I personally would've liked a little more cheese, but the crust was cooked perfectly with a nice chewy texture. The wings were another standout that both my wife and I really enjoyed. Slightly crispy on the outside while still delicate and moist inside, with a mild heat from the spices that wasn't overpowering. The naan was decent with a good garlic flavor, although it was a bit thin for my preference. The salad was fresh and delicious -- we always appreciate having plenty of vegetables with our meals. Overall, definitely recommend checking them out. Next time we're planning to try the Butter Chicken Pizza.

First time customers deserve better:…read more My husband and I visited for the first time recently. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, and our server invited us to choose any table. She immediately brought over two bottles of water and asked if it was our first visit. We said yes. She went over the menu in some detail. She did not ask if we wanted a drink, nor did she mention that the bottled water she had already placed on our table would be added to the bill. We ordered the lamb tikka pizza and the bhindi masala. The food was decent, but not remarkable. Portions felt a bit light for the price. The pizza crust was more like a crunchy pita, and the toppings were sparse. The okra was decent. Overall, I'd give the food 3 stars. The reason for my 1-star review is the way the restaurant handles water. We were automatically given bottled water before we had even looked at the menu, and at no point were we told there would be a charge. When the bill arrived, we discovered we'd been charged $1.50 for each 12-ounce plastic bottle. We had three, for a total of $4.50. This isn't about the money. It's about transparency. In most restaurants, water is provided as a courtesy, so presenting bottled water immediately to first-time customers without mentioning a charge feels misleading. If bottled water is the only water option available, that should be clearly communicated upfront. To make matters worse, there's a prominent sign stating that outside beverages are not allowed, which presumably includes bringing your own water bottle. After paying our bill and leaving a 20% tip, we suggested that first-time customers be informed about the water charge when they're seated. The response was a shrug and, "It's in the menu." Maybe it is. But if you're going to place bottled water on the table before customers have even opened the menu, the courteous thing to do is mention that it isn't complimentary. A simple heads-up would have avoided the entire issue.
