It pains me to have to write this review about my experience visiting SNCC food truck on 12-17-2020 simply due to the fact that Chef Shad undoubtedly makes AMAZING fried chicken. However, he lacks professionalism and an inability to control his emotions when faced with constructive feedback and inquiries from his customers. I have been supporting this business for many years dating back to the days Chef Shad would deliver food from his personal vehicle. I was more than happy to provide my support because he is a good chef and his skills in the kitchen are unmatched. Unfortunately, his poor attitude has left me feeling extremely offended and disgusted by his recent actions in reference to a private direct message I sent to his IG business page. In this direct message, I asked did the fries change from what is typically provided with their 4 piece chicken meal. 1 of his employees responded stating, "Yes, the fries have changed. We are working on updating our pictures to reflect the change." I thanked he/she for the update and expressed that the fries pictured on IG promoting the meal of the day were much more tastier than the fries provided with the meal I purchased on 12-17-2020. The last reply I received stated they would share this feedback with the cook. 30 minutes after I expressed my opinion regarding the fries Chef Shad took to IG live, with what sounded like a Flavor Flav sidekick co-signing his shenanigans in the background, as he launched into a tirade berating his customers for "always finding little things to complain about" and providing "negative feedback" regarding the change in fries. He continued on stating he did not believe it would be such a "big" deal. And lastly, to add insult to injury, he stated that Popeyes and other fast food chicken restaurants sell chicken and suggested that we take our business there if we can't take accountability for not reading his posts that clearly indicate "fries" were provided with the meal and not "cajun" fries. Unbelievable!! Chef Shad is completely unreceptive to customer feedback and unwilling to admit he dropped the ball by neglecting to provide clear communication regarding the change to his customers. When he made the decision to change the type of fries provided with the 4 piece, his team should have explicitly stated this in their IG post and uploaded new pictures to provide awareness to his loyal supporters. A professional business owner with class and tact would have proactively made these changes and/or fell on his sword when he realized customers were not happy with him not providing transparency about the change. Chef Shad seems to believe his customers "don't read" and/or lack reading comprehension skills causing them to not be able to discern changes to his menu. I took it upon myself to review previous posts to see if he provided a distinction between cajun fries and "fries" and discovered he has never indicated a difference in the type of fries provided with the four piece meal. Word of advice to the Chef - work on improving your time management skills, emotional intelligence, and overall interpersonal skills. Every action does not require a reaction especially when your customers are providing feedback that can help you improve. My recommendation for those considering trying his food truck is to proceed with caution. The fried chicken is good, but if you experience dissatisfaction at any level and take it upon yourself to express this to him, prepare for his WRATH. Also, prepare for a long wait, truck delays, and the truck being short staffed, which has been a consistent problem since this truck hit the streets of Los Angeles. read more

Found this place on Instagram and that's right where I should have left it. Food is over priced and not very much flavor. Taste pretty bland with a bunch of paprika sprinkled over it. I waited for weeks to order from Shad and once I finally got the chance...it was amazing! I placed an ordered for his Kickn Cajun Chicken (4 pcs) and it came with smoked greens and a roll for $15. Ohhh but the chicken! It was crispy on the outside, juicy inside and seasoned perfectly. I only ate the breast the first night because it was so filling. I was worried that my leftovers would become soggy but alas, my reheated chicken was STILL CRISPY the next day. Mind blown! I had the Spicy Kickn Cajun fried chicken and true to its name it had the right amount of heat to feel some burn but no too much so you could still taste the chicken. Anyone trying to get Shad's needs to understand that this is not a standalone restaurant. He is part of a new breed of entrepreneurial chefs who post their menus and take orders thru Instagram. You can see the details in the pictures I've posted but basically, he posts and takes orders via text message on Mon, Wed and Sat. You pickup your food at a designated time the next day. Make sure to follow him on instagram and follow directions for ordering information. His chicken sandwich has the perfect amount of spice! Chicken was tender, and the fries were perfect! A must have for sure. Ive been following SNNC on IG for a year or so. Seeing the claims from many as to why this chicken is a must have. Ordering is a little weird, SNNC posts a menu on IG, you immediately have to text them your request (very specific) and if you nail it, and are fast enough, you get a reply and can jump for joy! My day came this past weekend. I was finally able to place an order, paid up, got a time and location for pickup, and salivated for 24 hours until pickup time. I arrive at location, wait about 30 min w a few other folks, delivery person shows up and we all get our chicken delivered to our cars. I did not even wait till I got home. I rip open the bag at the light and dig in. CRUNCHHHHHHH! Both spicy and reg chicken were delicious, juicy, crunchy, perfectly cooked. For 15 bucks, you get 4 pieces, a side and a soda ( abargain imo) Most def worth the trouble of ordering and waiting a day to dig in.
