Very disappointing experience…read more Before arriving, I called to inform the office that I would be running late and specifically asked if I would still be able to see the doctor. I was told that it would not be a problem. However, when I arrived, I was suddenly told that I would need to reschedule. No one contacted me in advance even though they were aware that I might be late. According to the hospital's appointment system, the visit is listed as 15 minutes. When I arrived, I was unexpectedly told that the appointment would take 2 hours, yet no one could clearly explain why. If the appointment actually requires two hours, it raises the question of why I could not be seen the same day after confirming my arrival. The 15-minute late policy does not seem to be applied consistently, and there appeared to be little effort to help or find a reasonable solution. While trying to understand the situation, I asked several polite questions but unfortunately did not receive clear answers. At one point I briefly took a photo of the area, making sure not to photograph any patients or front desk staff. I was then told that photography is not allowed due to a sign prohibiting it, however no such sign was visible anywhere. Overall, the experience felt very disorganized and unhelpful. I remained polite throughout the entire interaction and simply wanted clarification, but none was provided.

I saw the Dr to investigate an irritation in my eye that was persisting after getting something caught in my eye. I had seen the Dr before about chronic dry eye. This was not a dry eye follow up--I even called to make sure what the amount would be for this specific visit (out of pocket--no insurance at the time) and I paid it. You can't decide you want to bill a patient for a different amount after the fact and tell me it was a dry-eye follow up (which I'm assuming costs more). Really ridiculous & frustrating.

I was two minutes away from hoping in a cab to catch a flight leaving JFK for South America. As I…read morewas brushing my teeth I looked in the bathroom mirror. To my shock, a large blotch of blood covered a corner of my left eye. It looked horrible. Yet... I had to get in the cab. I had to catch my plane, or did I? Once settled in the cab, I called Dr. Latkany's office and explained my predicament asking if I should get on an airplane in this condition. Dr. Latkany came on the line quickly, said he had patients waiting, and asked if I could facetime him right away. After some technical glitches he was able to see the blood blotch in my eye. He asked me questions. With a very calm voice, full of confidence he said I should continue to the airport and on to my plane. He said it would clear up in about a week. If it doesn't then I was to call him for further advice. With Dr. Latkany's clear and unshakable confidence I got on the jet and enjoyed my two week trip in South America. And, he was spot on about the spot. The blotch, after traveling across my eye, was gone in a week. Once again, I'm grateful to the skill and confidence that Dr. Latkany provides. After visiting several Drs over many years at a -7.5 perscription, Dr. Rudick gave me the right information and peace of mind to feel confident making the decision. I elected for PRK (longer recovery time but lower risk of dry eyes and long term side effects, plus I have an active lifestyle that includes martial arts). The recovery time is indeed longer (Day 4 was uncomfortable post bandaid contact removal and it took a full 4 weeks before my vision got back to 100%. Haven't looked back since - it's been amazing. Encourage all those considering to make an educated decision and go for it.

I wore ortho-K contact lenses for over a decade and didn't know if I would be eligible for laser eye correction or what the process would be like. Dr. Rudick was thorough in explaining the process to prep my eyes for surgery and what milestones we were looking for. After visiting every couple of weeks, I was ready for PRK. Post-surgery recovery was a breeze and I'm so happy to wake up with perfect vision every day! The practice is very clean and I've never had issues with long wait times.
