DO NOT waste your money. They told me my tattoo would be removed in 8-12 treatments; after 10 treatments (@ $500 per session), there were minimal results. Besides being overpriced, their laser doesn't work and actually has a class action lawsuit due to its' ineffectiveness. Unfortunately the only parties to benefit from the lawsuit are the shops - not the clients. After 10 sessions at Hindsight, I switched to Enfuse Med Spa and it's now totally gone in just 3 treatments and the appointments were HALF the cost. read more

I highly recommend Hindsight Tattoo Removal. I had a piece removed at Hindsight several years ago and while I was very pleased with my experience then, this time was that much better. The staff was again very communicative throughout, from how long my wait time was to aftercare and how soon I could come back for a second treatment, if needed. And this was on a busy Saturday afternoon. The major difference was the laser itself. The laser has a built-in cooling system that chills the skin, DRASTICALLY reducing the pain that normally comes along with the removal process. I can't remember the number of sessions I had, but I'm thinking it might've been 5 or 6. Pricing was decent and I am happy to say that the tattoo is completely gone! I have asked friends if they can guess what the tattoo used to be, and they're completely unable to guess. I've used a flashlight looking for any remnants of the old ink, and can't find it. About 5 years ago, I spent approximately $1,000 over several sessions to have a tattoo on my arm removed. The tattoo still appears today as it did when I first got it, perhaps a little lighter in color, but certainly not what I'd expect after 9 or 10 laser treatments. People should know what they're buying. The business's reaction to this review is telling. It's not, "Let's try to figure this out and fix this." It's, "you're full of it!" Well I wish I had price shopped sooner, because the price was LESS THAN HALF at vamoose, also using the pico laser. Well, I have couple of those, maybe even a few. Some of those decisions may have or may not have involved tattoos. In this particular case ... the case of the unwanted tattoo ... maybe even a few ... there is a solution: (I swear this wasn't supposed to start out like a Dr. Seuss poem) This solution comes under the guise of a funky, tattoo parlor named Insight Studios. In the basement of Insight is a tattoo removal studio, appropriately named Hindsight Studios. I first heard of Insight-Hindsight Studios and the offering of tattoo removal from "Yelp Deals" when a friend of a friend asked if she knew anyone who wanted her "deal" that she wasn't going to use...helllllooooo and thank you very much, Emily N.!! I cannot express what a great experience this was...from the start of making the appointment, to entering the immaculate studio, meeting "Bob" in person, then introducing me to Dr. Morosco. Both gentlemen were great ... I think they sensed my nervousness and embarrassment of my "bad decisions" Bob applied my "numbing creme" while the Dr. consulted with me, they were comforting, funny and excellent at putting me at ease. I went there with the intention of removing just one part (words) from a tattoo, but after speaking to the Dr. and telling him I was thinking of removing a couple more...maybe even a few. He made me an offer I couldn't refuse! The price was much lower than I expected! The best part ... he was FAST! Dr. M tried to make the pain as short as possible! Believe me it is NO picnic. You ever open up a Christmas gift eyes wide open, look at awe and wonder at that toy, play with it, treat it like gold, then one year later when the next Christmas rolls around and you get a new one, the old one gets swept under the rug? That awesome toy really wasn't so awesome anymore compared to the other new toys you received? Well, I'll be switching up metaphors here, so now imagine if that toy was a tattoo. You clearly can't return a tattoo, you can't break a tattoo and throw it out, and you can't scratch it off unless it was one you bought out of one of those $.25 vending machines. So here comes the decision of the day. And like Dr. Evil, it involves "lasers." So I walk in to Insight, chest up and my swag on, ready for this commitment. As I was told, the laser was in the basement - a good 15 or so steps down into a brightly lit room; enough steps for you to regain composure, wipe the tears from your eyes, re-puff your chest, and far enough away from the other customers so they can't hear you scream.... But honestly, it wasn't too bad. Bob and Dr. Morosco couldn't have been any more helpful in telling me what to expect and you truly understand how much passion they have for all facets of tattoos and piercings at the shop. I was welcomed with open arms and was self-assured that my procedure would be done by a physician at a shop that takes so much pride in their work. (Lest I have my ill-fated ink removed by a good friend and a rusty cheesegrater) The spot of the tattoo was first rubbed with a numbing gel. As I hung around looking at all the work, waiting for the gel to work its magic, I realized I was compelled to have this removed just so I could get another piece over it. Glutton for punishment? Maybe. An eye for great tattoos? Absolutely. The whole thing took about 8 minutes, if not less. And yes, as everyone must know by now if they are researching tattoo removal, it does have some pain. But not much. If I could describe it, it's the feeling you get when you accidentally flick water into a hot oil pan. It's the feeling of hot oil that snaps right on your skin. So It's not a walk in the park exactly, but then again, I did have those 15 steps back up stairs to reevaluate my emotional state. In all seriousness, I was thoroughly impressed with how it was all handled; he was precise, knowledgeable, and down to earth. I can't express enough gratitude for Hindsight's services. And what an ingenious endeavor for a tattoo studio to take on: adding tattoo removal and cover up tattoos to your services. Prior to my laser treatments with Hindsight, I had gone to a dermatologist and a plastic surgeon to discuss my options. I was deeply upset with this hideous colorful butterfly I got by mistake on my ribcage on a bad whim. First, the doctors I went to had never gotten a tattoo before, let alone had been treated by the lasers, and thus I was made to feel judged and frankly stupid in their eyes. It was clear that they didn't like tattoos, mistaken or otherwise. Second, they wanted upwards of $350+ a session for this 4 inches of skin patch. Ridiculous! I went to Hindsight, because the yelp reviews seemed positive, and I was curious since it was INSIDE OF A TATTOO PARLOR. I was floored by the welcoming atmosphere. Everyone's very honest, and very warm and helpful. When your waiting for your removal, people are chatting about their tattoos and laughing about the procedure, and you feel so less scared and intimidated. Because getting a tattoo removed is EQUALLY as emotional and intimate as getting one. And did I mention that Hindsight charged me less then half of what I was quoted by the other doctors? What sold me honestly wasn't the dramatically reduced price. I'm all down to pay more for quality (lesson learned after getting a bad tattoo). It was Dr. Moresco. I sat down with him privately for a few minutes before I got my first session, expressing how nervous I was and how negative everyone I had met has been about the prospects of my tattoo ever being removed. He was so nice and polite. Very professional. But he ALSO has tattoos, and tattoo's that he had removing. He explained the process and procedure and used his own tattoos as examples. I thought "wow, he knows what it feels like." I didn't feel judged. I felt empathy. I just went for my 8th treatment a few days ago and the new laser is AMAZING. I am someone with a lot of blues and purples, which according to the internet is impossible to remove. But I can see a HUGE difference with the new laser, and the possibility is alive and real people! And the best part about hindsight, is that if you want a cover up, you can consult with anyone of their amazing talented tattoo artists and start discussing a treatment/cover up plan. Most places wanted to give me a consult first for a hefty fee before they would even come close to me with a laser. Other places seemed cheap or trashy. I was about to give up and live with my ridiculous unwanted tattoo(it's a rat with a giant ear...classy!). Then I heard about this tattoo shop that also offered laser tattoo removal. So I called and naturally talked money and was very pleased with what they quoted me. It actually sounded too good to be true. I kept wondering what the "catch" was. The fact that I am writing this review a mere 3 hours after going in for tattoo removal should say a lot about the entire experience. Everyone I met and talked too was super professional, and incredibly nice. The process for getting an appointment was really easy too. I had emailed them about getting more info, and got a call back from Bob about scheduling. I made my appointment, and 2 days later was sitting in the lobby waiting for my turn. A little bit of paperwork, and a little bit of waiting, and I got to meet Dr. Morosco- and hes a super nice guy. The procedure is a lot faster than you would think, which is awesome. He uses a numbing cream- which I've been noticing is more for after the work than during. It hurts, but you couldn't find a better place to hurt. read more

I'd give them 10 stars if I could. They're located in the city with easy street parking and CTA, incredibly fair pricing, fantastic results and equally fantastic people! I shopped around for a removal place only to find every office that provided the service was in the suburbs and in very uncomfortably pushy plastic surgery offices. When I talked with Bob on the phone he immediately put me at ease about the removal timeframe, results and the actual laser pain (they provide a topical numbing cream). I went in incredibly nervous of what to expect during and after the lasering (I mean it's a freaking laser on your skin!) I expressed them all to Bob and Dr. Morosco, who very calmly let me know all my nerves were normal and explained it would hurt for only a fraction of a second but the numbing cream would help to alleviate pain during and after. They also dispelled the myths of scarring and how that happens. It's not the lasering, it's the aftercare that producing scarring so pay attention. It's simple but important (unless you're into pain and scarring). My results: I've been 6-7 times and my tattoo is practically invisible. I started about a year ago and the place has definitely taken off since then, so be sure to book your next appointment directly after your session. They recommend 8-12 weeks in-between sessions so have patience! Your skin is red and irritated for 2 days, then it's mostly dry skin that peels slightly. The extra time in-between sessions is to allow the lower levels of skin to heal and properly eject the ink the laser has broken up. Incredibly happy, hope you will be too! read more

Now, thanks to Hindsight Tattoo Removal, your awful tattoo can be as short lived as that relationship. Seriously, these guys rock! First of all, this guy is a REAL doctor so you can trust him 150%, not to mention he is super nice and sweet. Although he is using a laser to take ink out of your skin he is very gentle and makes you feel as comfortable as possible. The actual process only takes about 5 minutes and a few sessions depending on color and quality of the tattoo. I have gone a few times and my tattoo is practically non existent. Literally just left the shop and Im so happy I finally made the decision to get rid of this awful 15 yr old tramp stamp! I've been checking out places online for years but have been hesitant due to costs, time frame, being impatient, etc. I checked out all the great reviews on Yelp today and was surprised to see this place has an ER doc doing the removals for a fraction of the cost I've seen other places. As an ER doc myself, I figured this would be the perfect guy. I sent an email inquiry and Bob e-mailed me back within an hour and told me just to come on in. I went in not even 2 hours after sending my first e-mail. The shop is nice, staff is friendly, parking was easy. I was in and out quick. The pain: basically what I expected. I had laser hair removal once on my underarms which I found to be pretty painful. This felt similar, for the colored parts at least. Painful but bearable. The black hurts like a bitch, but again, tolerable. Now Im home, pain-free. 2nd appt already booked before I left, easy. Highly recommend! read more

I LOVE this place! (as much as you can love a place that inflicts pain on you :) ) I had been thinking about getting my tattoo removed for years, and every time I researched places (both in Boston and in Chicago) I was deterred by the high price of the sessions. Since I had blue/green & yellow in my tattoo, I knew it wasn't going to be a quick removal process, and just couldn't justify the cost. I am so grateful to have found Bob and his team. While I will say the process is PAINFUL (oh man, is it painful - like a mix of extremely hot oil on a rubber band, just flicking you over and over), it is REALLY quick and over with before you know it. I've had 4 sessions so far and because of the color of my tattoo and the terrible job someone did with it years ago (raised ink, etc.) it is taking a while for my tattoo to fade, but I am starting to see the results I wanted and know I just need to be patient. My advice: call WELL in advance when you need an appointment. They are super busy so it can take a few weeks to get in if you want to go at a prime time (weekends and nights). So I went in for my second laser treatment yesterday and was just as impressed as I was the first time around. Both Bob and Dr. Morosco were super impressed at how faded my tattoo was after just one application. Likely one more session and this baby will be gone! This place is a well-oiled machine...let me break it down: 1. Make an appointment with Bob 2. Get there 30-45 minutes before (so your numbing cream can take affect by your appt time) 3. Let Bob apply the numbing topical in the private room in the back 4. Wait about 30 minutes for it to take affect 5. Mosey on downstairs with the ever-cheerful Dr. Morosco 6. Pop on the protective shades and endure about 20 seconds of laser (seriously not even close to the pain I thought it would be) 7. Get your to-go ice pack from the doc and apply to freshly lasered area 8. If its your first visit get your burn cream script 9. Pop back upstairs and pay a ridiculously reasonable amount 10. Tip the good doctor (you'd tip your tattoo artist right? of course you would) So impressed - seriously you'd be a fool not to use this place if you're in the market for safe, clean and affordable tattoo removal. I've been wanting to remove my tattoo for the past 20 years. I work in a corporate world and was tired of covering my right forearm. It was an old-school dragon done by Fat Joe @ Jade Dragon. Sad to see it go, but it was time for a change. The color was blue & green with red & yellow accents. A combination Dr. M called the "hardest to remove." For the past 10 years I did my homework as to where I should go. I made many appointments and spoke to plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and regular tattoo shops. Even without laser technology, they all said they could remove it. But I was skeptical and not satisfied with their comments during the evaluations. Luckily, I found Hindsight on Yelp. After reading the comments, I decided to stop by the office. Dr. M took me in for a quick consultation without a scheduled appointment. The office impressed me by being extremely clean and the entire staff was very professional, especially Bob, the scheduler. When I spoke to Dr. M, no price was ever brought up until after 30+ minutes of talking. His main concern was my treatment AND NOT the sale. (Initial visits at other offices often cost $50-75 and only lasted 10-15 minutes). During my first visit to Hindsight, it actually took me to ask about pricing before any amounts were discussed. This spoke volumes about the type of person Dr. Morosco is. I am posting pictures of the Dr's work. Let it speak for itself. It DID hurt, but I am so glad I stopped by Bob & Dr. Morosco's office for that first consultation! Getting my tattoo removed is something that I have wanted to do for over 10 years and now I'm finally doing it. I like the tattoo. I just hate it's placement. I was very nervous on my first visit, but Dr. Morosco was very calm and reassuring. The procedure took less than five minutes and I was very excited to start seeing results. But then...disappointment! I didn't see any results. There was no burn, no scab, no change. My tattoo looked exactly the same the next day and it didn't lighten up at all in the weeks that followed. I contacted Dr. Morosco and he suggested that I come back in for another appointment. He explained that he would use a higher setting on the laser now that he knows how my skin will react to the treatment. Even though I was a little miffed that I paid for a previous session that did nothing, I'm glad that the first visit was mild. In hindsight, I would rather have him test out my skin than damage it from a laser that was set too high. After the second visit, my tattoo is about half faded and I will need at least one (maybe two) more visits to complete the removal. Even if I do need two more visits, the cost will be WAAAY below the price that I was quoted by my dermatologist. Dr. Morosco is polite, professional, and efficient. He worked as quickly as possible and talked me through the pain of the procedure. read more

What can I say , the very best equipment wielded in the hands of an experienced doctor , who himself , bears ink .. My tat was mostly green , which is supposed to be the most difficult to remove.. NOT HERE ! One session , it's virtually gone. I'd be extremely surprised to exceed 3 sessions.. *** Update, I had 3 sessions and a bit still remains , but I'm still really happy with the experience overall. Someone asked how large my tat was. It was about "2x2" , VERY old and faded except for the green areas . So that green bit slightly remains. I will at least need 1 more treatment. I'm so happy I found Hindsight when I moved back to Chicago. I have (for not much longer) a small purple star on my right foot. I started my tattoo removal journey at a terrible medspa in Milwaukee. It hurt like hell and wasn't effective at all, even after 7 treatments. I decided on Hindsight after reading Yelp reviews. The studio is clean, everyone is friendly, they give you a numbing cream, and cold blast your tattoo while laser blasting it! I opted for the Picosure laser. I think I've had 5 or 6 sessions, and I'm pretty much done. Look folks, laser tattoo removal isn't cheap and it isn't pleasant. Two sessions thus far and each time was a different experience (both good of course). The removal room is in the basement of the tattoo shop ( don't worry not scary). The basement is clean and well lit, most importantly you're in the basement so if you yelp on your first time ( like i did) no one will know haha. Make appointments with Bob and get lasered by Dr. Morosco. Also, Bob will apply the topical cream to numb the area but be there 30-45 mins before appointment. Making my first appointment was easy and they fit me right in. The first treatment...hurts like Hell. I am sure it depends on where your tattoo is located and mine happens to be on my side and finger. The side was super painful, but the finger not-so-much. On my first visit Dr. Morosco gave s an ice pack and covered the tattoo after treatment. Dr. also gives a script for a creme on first visit to keep infection away and help healing process. As for the The area it is immediately red and progresses and eventually turns in to a bruise. As it heals it peels and becomes extremely itchy! I immediately saw results and it healed perfectly. My second visit was a lot more difficult to make an appointment because awesome reviews on yelp = more customers (go hindsight). Anyway I tried making my second appointment using the texting system Bob used when confirming appointments but I never received a response and was called a few weeks later to set up an appointment. My second visit was three months after the first one, and the pain was a lot more tolerable and faster too (no I did not yelp). The same healing process took place and again I have results of a disappearing tattoo. Only this time I scarred a little. I think I scratched the area in my sleep and well yeah. So far no skin discoloration after two full months. Now, I am just waiting on a phone call for a third appointment. I seriously wish I could move back to Chicago just to keep lasering my tattoo here with Brent and Bob. They really hold themselves to a professional and high standard of quality. And having looked all over both Chicago and New York for consistent laser treatment, their prices make no sense because they're so low compared to other places while their quality is still the best. I was very nervous to go in for my first session, but everyone is easy to communicate with, helpful and to the point. I've had 3 sessions on 2 different tattoos at Hindsight, and I am beyond happy with the progress so far! I spent a lot of time researching tattoo removal businesses, and I am SO GLAD that I chose Hindsight. Both the owner and Dr. are very laid back and welcoming. There is no sense of judgement. It's in a clean and no nonsense environment. Everything about this place is very straightforward, which is the type of business model I respect. Anyone complaining about the environment or cost seems to be a little out of touch with what's going on...you're getting tattoo ink removed from your body... It isn't a spa service and yes it will cost money. The pieces I am getting removed are rather large, so I opt for the numbing cream. I haven't had a session without it, but from talking to other people in the waiting room, I don't plan on braving it without the cream! Each session is pretty quick. The actual procedure seems to only take 3-5 minutes for me. The Dr. is always super amicable and very gentle. He does an awesome job of letting you know when he's going to start and checking in with you periodically. Before you know it, your session is over and you can easily book your next one at the front desk. I have found it best to just be honest the owner. If I plan to go out in the sun or can't afford a session for a while- I just tell him and he's happy to accommodate the scheduling. Also they send you a reminder text the night before your appointment which I find super helpful! Getting a tattoo removed can be scary or even emotional. I LOVVVEEEE Hindsight! This place is by far the best tattoo removal place in the entire city. Super friendly staff, and super clean! The place offers a combination of services including piercings, tattoos, and tattoo removal. I like this because the staff is very knowledgeable about everything. I was inquiring about tattooing over my wrist once I removed the previous tattoo and they were quick to answer my questions! It is very easy to book appointments with them. The first time I called in the requested a picture of the tattoo so they can give you a price quote. They are extremely well priced! They also send out a text to remind you when your appointment is, which is very helpful! Although the actual lasering is not so much fun, they make it as least painful as possible. What makes it even better is that the staff removing the tattoos also works in an ER which makes me feel a lot safer about the whole process! I have been here a total of four times so far to remove my wrist tattoo and also started working on removing one on my ankle and each time has been great! I was really happy with my first experience here today. Bob and Dr. Morosco (as well as the other staff I talked to, including the girl who was working at the front desk) were very courteous and friendly. I have a giant back piece that I'm working on removing, so it's a big order, but they didn't seem phased by it. The process was quick and painless (well, not painless, but you know what I mean...). Bob applies a numbing cream (you can decline it if you want), it sits for about 30-45 minutes (I went next door for some great kebab for lunch), then you head downstairs to the laser with Dr. Morosco. He was really great and explained which lasers he was using and what colors they target, and he told me ahead of time which ones would hurt more, which was nice to know. For a piece that covers my shoulders and upper back, the whole thing took not more than 15 minutes. I was sent home with requisite prescriptions and advice, and things are going well so far. I'm looking forward to my next appointment at Hindsight and seeing the progress on the tattoo.They also charge what I feel is a very fair price, definitely a lot less than I've seen quoted from cosmetic surgery providers. I'm sure they could get away with charging more, but I really appreciate the fact that they're making tattoo removal affordable for more people, and that the service they provide is high-quality and professional. I called Hindsight today to see about getting an appointment to have two, small tattoos removed. They were able to fit me within the hour! I had been to Hindsight (well, Insight) a few years ago for a piercing, and knew that the space was clean. All the other Yelp reviews didn't hurt either. Bob greeted me at the door, and applied a topical anesthetic while answering a few questions. The price he quoted me was extremely reasonable, and actually less than I was expecting. I got to see Tim, who is also super friendly and professional. He answered a few more questions before getting to work. I was expecting the worst pain of my life, but this was not bad...at all. I guess I had the impression that there was going to be some ungodly burning involved, but this was not the case. The first session was super fast, and Tim made sure to explain which lasers he was using for the different colors. He said that I can come back in 4 weeks for the next session - wooohooo! The color is already starting to fade (After 4 hours), and I can't wait to see them fade even more as the weeks go on! read more

This place is amazing...yep that's the bottom line! Words that come to mind to describe Hindsight...professional, efficient, knowledgeable, meticulous and affordable. The list could go on but let me get to the details! From the moment you walk downstairs you are greeted by the owner Bob who is friendly and well educated in the field of removing tattoos. I had a quick 5 minute "consultation" where I could tell he had been doing this for a long time and knew exactly what he was talking about. He told me approximately how many sessions it should take and what to expect with my final results. I had started tattoo removal years ago in Florida and could tell he was far more versed than the people from my previous experience. After that quick conversation I was whisked away by Dr. Brent who was proficient and professional. As I opted out on the numbing cream he told me exactly where I would probably feel some pain and wow he was spot on! I was done 5-6 minutes later and he was lasering 2 tattoos. This entire experience was quick, simple and pretty much pain free. Bottom line is if you are looking to get your old tattoo removed by people who know and care about what they do then come here. Been coming here to have 2 tattoos removed and have been meaning to post this for some time. I HIGHLY recommend Hindsight. If I wasn't embarrassed about the tattoos, I would've posted pictures. But now I can't cause they are gone!! The prices are very reasonable, the place is super clean, they play Planet Earth on TV, and most importantly Bob and the Dr are professional, efficient, and overall great guys. I came here for a tattoo and while I was there saw that they also do tattoo removal. Which, after finding out how much it cost, I couldn't have been more thrilled. I have a couple of embarassing pictures on my body left over from my teenage years that I have been dying to get off of me. I had a few treatments on one of my tattoos while I was living in another state but when I moved to Chicago I couldn't find a place that wasn't charging an arm and a leg for the laser so I just kind of gave up on it. In comparison to my previous experience with laser treatments, Hindsight sets the bar. First, Insight Studios is incredibly clean--incredibly clean. Its an MD that is conducting the treatment which probably doesn't make much of a difference but it is reassuring. They place a local anesthetic cream on the area you'll be getting treated to help with the pain (between you and me--it doesn't help at all but its a nice gesture). I was also impressed with the laser they use. They can change the head of the laser according to your tattoo (dark vs light colors). Right off the bat I could tell a difference from my previous experiences. This laser is VERY effective. I had four treatments before this and my tattoo faded but was going to require at least four more treatments at the rate we were going. After this treatment I noticed a HUGE difference and will most likely require one more treatment, two at the most. The doctor also gave me a prescription for silvadene, which was much appreciated. I love this place, couldn't say enough great things about it. If you're considering tattoo removal, a piercing, or a tattoo that you'll need removed later, I definitely recommend Insight/Hindsight Studios. read more

After having two treatments at another place I was referred to Hindsight and I am so happy. The price I was paying for removal of one tattoo I am now paying for the removal of three. Hindsight is clean. The process is simple. I was not in any pain thanks to the ice cold air blowing on my skin and I felt comfortable and confident in the process. I highly recommend. These guys are wonderful. I found them on Yelp after the process I began of removing an old tattoo was going very slowly out in the burbs with some med spa type of place. Basically, the price was right, but the drive was getting annoying, and after 3 or 4 sessions I just wasn't seeing the results I would expect. So, I've gone here maybe 3 times now and my tat is almost invisible. The pricing is good, great location (close to Kennedy, always street parking) and the guys are super quick and nice. If you have a tat you hate and have been thinking about getting it removed, think no more. I wish I'd just started with this place from the start. read more
