To give you all my background, I made one of the worst decisions of my life and decided to get a tattoo from an artist my friend recommended me to. I ended up getting a tattoo in some stoners apartment who had just got done smoking out of a gas mask bong, and being 19 at the time, for some reason I thought this was a great idea. I regretted it instantly and you could barely read the quote, which was suppose to be a part of a memorial tattoo for my grandfather. I looked into getting it removed and found a similar tattoo shop in Carbondale that does laser removal. I was hopeful but after 15 sessions the guys laser barely faded it. He continued to reassure me that it was removable, but at the rate it was going, I figured I'd be dead before it was fully removed. I decided to look elsewhere and found another tattoo shop in Carbondale that does the same thing and was trying to compete with the first shop I went to. The guy had an updated laser, but he was young and not experienced with tattoo removal. After the session my tattoo didn't raise or blister at all, which is unusual after laser removal, nor did it fade at all afterwards. The guy clearly had no idea what he was doing and after that I kind of gave up. Once I moved to Chicago I stumbled upon hindsight but kept my expectations low with my past experiences with laser removal . I decided to make an appointment and gave it one last shot before I contemplated getting a cover up. The shop was far better then the past tattoo shops I went to. It had its own floor for tattoo removal and the guy who does it is an actual physician. The guys I saw in the past were tattoo artists and just got licensed to use the laser. The laser they use is also probably one of the best out there. I always felt embarrassed going into to these places, but hindsight made me feel super comfortable and not judged at all. After the first session there was a huge noticeable difference in how much it faded compared to my past experiences and I finally felt hopeful again. I went a total of probably 8 times and it is completely removed. There's a slight bit of hypo-pigmentation but that's a small price to pay and doesn't bother me at all. This place was a blessing for me because I was only charged $50 a session and there is no way I could afford $1000 a session, which is what a plastic surgeon wanted to charge me. If you need a tattoo removed and aren't a millionaire this is hands down the best place to go to and I couldn't thank them enough. I recently had a laser tattoo removal session done at Hindsight (the removal part of Insight tattoo/percing studio) by Dr. Morosco, and I had a seriously great experience. As a tattoo artist it was important to me to have my removal done in the context of a body art studio as opposed to a lipo or hair removal clinic (weird!), and not to have to pay the kind of prices that do along with a plastic surgery clinic. I do a guest spot in Chicago every year and knew that opposed to California (where i currently live) Chicago had this type of laser tattoo removal set up. The staff at Hindsight did their best to work around my schedule and were very communicative and accommodating. The staff I encountered in the studio were warm, helpful, and knowledgeable about the removal process, especially Dr. Morosco. He was very kind, professional and quick! I definitely felt like I was in good hands. Specifically, I wanted to lighten some black-outline work I had on my right arm to prepare for a cover up. I wont lie about the pain; It may be the worst I have ever experienced. Removal is nothing like getting tattooed! I am very glad Dr. Morosco was so quick with the laser and that this one treatment should be effective enough to acheive the cover-up result I am going for. I was concerned that the healing process would be painful and make the rest of my trip miserable, but things have gone very smoothly. I dont even have any blisters (but I have skin that tans and rarely burns, so I know results are different for fairer skinned folks). Dr. M made sure to load me up with plenty of ice-packs, bandages and a scirp for some antibiotic burn cream. My overall experience was quick and painful, very reasonably priced, and I felt very well taken care of. My line-work has already lightened significantly and I can expect more of that in the next few weeks. I wanted to leave a review after my first appointment but figured that I would wait until I got a couple of sessions under my belt before giving my opinion. None of the extra visits changed my first impression - this place is great! I guess all of the other reviews pretty sum it up. Typical "stupid girl" story. I got a rather huge, poorly done, and badly placed tattoo on my arm about 7 years ago and figured I'd just be stuck with it forever. Until my boyfriend proposed to me and I started looking at wedding dresses. That's when the reality of laser removal hit me. I started searching online for clinics but had been quoted far out of my price range. I finally came across Hindsight and decided to just take the plunge and call them. They were able to set me up with an appointment within a week and quoted me a far cheaper price than the other places. I won't lie, the procedure is pretty painful, but its so short that it doesn't really matter. I saw significant changes after the first session and am always excited to see the progress after each one. I can't wait to have this thing off of me and I'm confident that that will be sooner rather than later thanks to Hindsight. OK, so I had a tattoo on my wrist that I wanted removed- not so much because of regret, but more that it wasn't done very well (well, that and my mom would freak when she saw it). I did some research over the weekend, got in contact with Bob, sent him a pic, and I went in today. I'm home about a half an hour (had to stop at the Jewel) and already I'm seeing the stars fade. The top of the two is already a third gone! I was really kinda nervous...well, I got nervous when I had the cream applied to my wrist. But Bob was super cool about the whole situation. Next thing you know, its my turn- I'm greeted by the doctor and led downstairs to the place with the laser. I started to get wicked nervous, since I had never been zapped before. The doctor was incredibly kind and patient and made me feel comfortable. He sets the laser, gives me some wicked cool blue blocker goggles.....I take a deep breath....and BOOM! I'm done. That was it! I love this place so much! I've been to one other laser removal place in the Chicago area, which was a fancy-schmancy cosmetic surgery place. They charged me forty bucks just to have some lady take a pic of my tattoos, show it to a doctor who was too important to talk to me (dude had his beemer parked out front with a vanity plate that said LIPODOC) and then hand me a card with a price quote higher than my current college tuition. I was bitching about it to a student in my English class who just happened to be a tattoo artist. I'm so glad she referred me to Hindsight! Yes, it hurts like hell, but only your skin!! they don't double-ding you and make your wallet cry for mercy, too. Also, the treatments become less painful as the tattoo fades, so if you can handle the first one, you'll be fine. The first time I got the numbing cream, and waited for a long time before going downstairs to be lasered. I didn't find it helped with the pain all that much, tbh, so the next time I skipped it and was in and out, leaving in about as much pain as the first time. I think it actually hurt more with the cream, since I was expecting to feel nothing and was sorely disappointed there. :P I seriously doubt you'll find a more affordable place or one with nicer staff. The owner. Bob, is really cool and does a lot of charity work for sick/homeless kitties, and the Dr. Morosco who does the flesh-searing is professional, but still cool and ruggedly handsome and badass (the last time I was there, he had duct tape on his leg from some kind of extreme sports issue... HOT). He's not on an any sort of ego trip, just does his thing quickly and sends you on your way. I have been to Hindsight twice now (and had two other sessions back home) and my terribly 90's all-black tribal tattoos are almost completely faded away (I've been told they look like varicose veins now... which I think is a good thing). I've had two very badly done tattoos on my arms that before Hindsight I had no hope of removing. Everyday I would wake up and see them and get depressed. It was constantly dragging me down and I would have to plan on how I was going to cover them up. Removal seemed so inaccessible and expensive, I can't afford the ridiculous amount they charge at a dermatologist. I'm so grateful I found Hindsight on yelp. They do professional work for the best price that you are going to find. I wish that every business out there was as fair as these people are, we would live in a better world if they did. I had my first treatment about 4 weeks ago. The place was super clean and inviting. I was surprised at how busy it was for people getting their treatment done which was a nice surprise. I appreciate the numbing cream they put on-which helped! Price was very fair, parking was easy. I want to give 4 or 5 stars but that's only until my treatments are complete. The only negative that I have is that for any questions or booking appointments you are to only speak to Bob. The problem with this is that he is not always around and unless you are returning his phone call you will usually always have to leave a message for him to call you back. After my treatment I booked my next session - great done! Then I realized I was booked for more than 6 weeks and wasn't sure why since I want to come right at the 6 month healing time mark. I called Bob and eventually spoke to him a a few days later. He said do you want to come in tomorrow? Which would have been the 4 week mark...I said that no, that's not 6 weeks yet..why I am I booked longer than 6 weeks? He said something about different healing times. So I am a little confused? Key thing in business/people is Communication Bob - you defiantly need an assistant to answer these types of questions and to change appointments!! ..its a bit frustrating that you always have to leave a message with someone or the machine. I just counted the weeks on my calendar and he has me booked 10 weeks out!? ...I am not sure why this is? If my healing time is longer than I would like to know why its different than other peoples healing time. read more

I forbid any reader reading this to go ANYWHERE ELSE FOR TATTOO REMOVAL :O Before visiting Hindsight for removal, I had 3 sessions done elsewhere, and none of those sessions turned out nearly as well~ and for 1/3 the price, this place procedure brings 500% more satisfaction than the laser work I've had done in the past. Before this session, I had little to no hope that my tattoo would ever disappear - I have one of the most dense, all black pieces on my hand, completely scarred from the tattoo work and in the boldest black ink; the actual laser procedure took less than 2 minutes to perform on a 5 x 3 inch piece, so don't worry about suffering pain and agony if you have a smaller piece - it will be brutal if you're going for a large area though, but it's that satisfactory pain... Like when a cut is itching while it heals :) Dr. Morosco is completely understanding and very genuine, so you should feel comfortable with him doing the treatment right when you meet him :D Kinda like Bob doing the piercings: a very good aura emits from these two lol. All of this aside, you can not ask for a better price for tattoo removal. My session was $75, and at Ritacca Center near Gurnee, they were trying to charge me $250 for the same tattoo, using the same laser!! ABSURD! Decided to keep my eyes open and wallet closed until finding a price more suitable for my budget; and then I found Hindsight :) You will be completely satisfied with the work done here, and if not, I'LL EAT MY HAT!~ And you can take that to the BANK :D~ read more

Alright SO.. The first thing I'd like to say is that this place, everything about it, is as close to perfection with lasering as it's going to get. When I first started my lasering process, I was getting lasered by a man who travels all over the U.S. Despite the excruciating pain and the nearly unbearable healing process, I stupidly thought everything was fine. Until I went to these guys. First of all, I was charged about half the price at Hindsight.I actually found out they would be getting lasering equipment long before they had it. Because of this, Bobby and Brent gave me an incredibly fair price since they needed to start building their clientele. But honestly, they could charge me twice what they do and I'd still come back for more. Secondly, this price INCLUDES numbing cream that actually works, in one way or another. I had to pay an extra $60 for numbing cream that didn't even work with the other dude. The numbing cream they use at Hindsight is what doctors (i.e. Brent) actually use. And I'm starting to realize it also helps out with the healing process. During the process it helps a little, but the level of pain that comes along with lasering is hard to cover up. AND, the fact that the man lasering a very tender part of my body (my entire right inner thigh, from right above my knee basically to my crotch) is a doctor makes me MUCH more comfortable. Not to mention he is an incredibly sweet, gentle person that is willing to take as many breaks and go as slow as I want. He is also able to prescribe pain meds if you are getting a very tender area done. This helped me out SO much because, without them, I'd go to work the next day and be miserable for my entire shift. These pain meds can also be used for your next laser appointment and greatly help your level of pain tolerance through the process. Another problem I had with the other man I was lasered by.. The blisters I got on the colored parts of my tattoo were MASSIVE. A couple inches in diameter and sitting about an inch (or a little more) off my skin. Quite literally the biggest blisters I, or any of my friends, have ever seen. And god forbid I actually bumped one of these blisters on accident =/. With the Hindsight guys, this is absolutely not something to worry about. Yes, you will get blisters. No, they will not be the size of a golf ball. Lastly, getting appointments with this other dude was impossible. He was only near me 2-3 days every 2-3 months. One time he hadn't even returned for 6 months! And I'd have to drive about 3 hours to meet up with him. With Hindsight, making an appointment is super simple, whether you want to call or email. They can get you in within the week. Taking everything into account, if you're thinking about getting lasered somewhere else, just don't. These guys are the best you can get.. Amazing price, amazing guys, amazing work. :) read more

after growing up and getting stuck in the corporate world I'm getting 9 tattoos removed and I've been contemplating this for years. I've been extremely nervous about it and put it off for years. i finally grew a pair and contacted hindsight and I'm so happy i did. Bob and Dr M are super nice and they keep your mind off the fact you're going to get your skin seared. i was late and Bob still put the topical cream which does wonders and Dr M was dreamy and extremely easy going. As far as the experience it self , it was extremely painful and isn't anything like getting a tattoo. I'd compare it to getting your skin splashed with frying oil consistently. BUT it's extremely quick . the first tattoo he started on is the size of an adult index finger - i couldn't finish my short sentence and it was done and i cracked up from relief. fleshy areas hurt a little more and wrists are a b word , but it's really really fast. 9 tattoos were done under 10 min. I'll write a review at the end of the year on the process but I'm extremely happy and relieved ! great team. read more

Requested for someone to contact me months ago, which they never got back to me until this past week with a phone call from the snarky receptionist (who answered with "Ya, whats up?!?!?) Ha, not off to a good start already. The receptionist pretty much avoiding the fact that i had requested someone to contact me beforehand, Spoke to "Bob" whom was also not as pleasant to talk to, i clearly stated that i wanted a consultation before i go through with anything, and they completely disregarded that fact and told me that they would be doing the full service that same day (Um, hello...I said about 5 times I just wanted a consultation!) once "Bob" finally understood what i was saying he just blanked out on me, and didn't really care to schedule me for an appointment and seemed pretty disengaged. I had my first treatment of tattoo removal a couple of days ago at Hindsight. If I had to describe the experience in one word, it would be 'easy!' Making an appointment was a breeze. I was sitting in their studio within 2 days of calling. The studio is extremely clean, which should be a top priority for anyone getting work on their body done. Bob and Dr. Morosco were laid back, friendly, and professional. They immediately put me at ease. The process itself wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined it to be. I have two characters on my lower back a little larger than two square inches each. Like others have mentioned, the pain is real but it was very bearable. I think it was mostly tolerable because it was so quick. The laser treatment for both characters was about 3-4 minutes total! It felt like getting hot oil flickered on you. Sounds bad, but it is totally tolerable because of the short duration. I'll be coming back in a few weeks for treatment #2. Very glad I chose Hindsight for my tattoo removal. read more

I had an ugly feather tattoo behind my ear that I wanted to get rid of. They did an amazing job of removing my tattoo. Bob is great and knows customer service. I've been holding off on getting a couple tattoo's removed because I've heard how scary and painful the whole procedure is. I get pierced at insight and have nothing but amazing things to say about Bob jones. He informed me that they recently added hindsight tattoo removal and that I needed to get over my fear and get my butt in there and get it over with. I'm suuuuuuper happy he did! Today was my second session with Dr. Bollinger and my tattoos have faded drastically. I'm not gonna lie... it does hurt, but it's over in just a few seconds. I took a slow and steady approach to getting my small tat removed, and after going sporadically over about a year and a half, it is gone! I have no scarring at all, and they charged me a totally low and reasonable fee. Doctor Brent had to experiment a bit because my tat was green (stubborn color) and what he calls a "biker tattoo," meaning deep in the skin. These guys are straight up awesome! I was going to a plastic surgeon and spending a fortune for a very small tattoo on top of my foot (a quarter covers it), until I found out about Hindsight through Yelp. I'm so glad that I did. It's certainly a no frills environment, but I like that. They get me in, charge me a very fair price, and get me out. I always had to wait a really long time at the place that I was going to before, and they constantly tried to sell me on other cosmetic procedures in the meantime. These guys are also incredibly friendly and understanding. The doctor that treats you has actually had some of his own tattoos removed with a laser, so he knows exactly what it's like. I'll be on my 7th treatment next time (in total, between both places), and I think that I may still have a couple to go, but I will definitely finish up with them.
