The 2 receptionist were very rude, there was a lady with curly hair who took me to a room and was confusing the amount of times I took the shot. I felt extremely uncomfortable and belittled there. she was making it seem as though I would not pay for a package I already paid for. I was there to see if I wanted to continue the rem package. Everytime I tried to talk to her or explain myself she was so rude and loud. I couldn't even say anything her face kept getting so red when I tried to tell what I was looking to get. I am very disappointed I had to experience that because I really do like the Doctor there, he's very polite and welcoming. the 2 girls there on the other hand are not. The most complete skin treatment I've found with Dr's always available for treatment/questions. At my age, I'm always curious as to what's new and/or most effective. Most offices I am familiar with suggest the treatment they have - the machines are so costly. Somehow these doctors have virtually everything & when they recommend one thing over another I really value the suggestion. They also seem to be trailblazers offering things I've never heard of or in combination with others. Recommendation if you go for a treatment ask the Dr what they suggest for your problem areas. They may suggest something you wouldn't have thought of. Get on their email list as well, they have information & specials. read more

I saw Sabina at this location and she was fantastic! I've never had any treatments before & she was very patient walking me through the different options from peels to micro needling to facials. I ended up getting a brightening facial (which was dermaplaning + laser treatment + chemical peel) and again she was very patient explaining the process as she went, giving recommendations for my skincare routine, etc. It is currently the next morning and I am OBSESSED with how my face looks and feels already. I did think it was a little crazy that people get this done every 4 weeks (!!) because it's like semi-expensive (to me), so I will definitely be back but will probably try to spread out my visits to give my wallet a little break! I had my first dermaplaning experience at the Old Town Med Spa. Rebecca was wonderful! She explained everything to me, and made me feel comfortable right away. Dermaplaning takes a lot of skill as it uses a sharp blade to remove any dead skin and peach fuzz on the face. Rebecca did an amazing job- my face feels so fresh and smooth! I went back for a follow up and it was recommended that I try Restylane since it can last longer and it's cheaper. When I first walked out, my injection sites were a little swollen. I panicked and both called and emailed the office with my concerns. The front office allowed me to send pictures so I wouldn't have to come back in, which was really hlepful. I was being overly anxious, as only a few hours later everything settled and looks great. The office staff was very patient with me and I have been happy with my results every visit. read more

I came here since I had a Groupon for 20 units of Botox, which I have gotten before elsewhere with great results. I'm in my late 20s and mainly get Botox for preventative reasons and do not have any super deep wrinkles. The doctor said that I would need 32 units, however, I did not feel comfortable with this number since I had great success with 20 units of Botox previously and the effects lasted for 5 months. I stated to the doctor I did not feel comfortable with 32 units and felt it was excessive for my needs. The doctor said the minimum amount he would do was 28 units, and still tried to pressure me further into getting the 32 units. We eventually settled on 28 units, I only agreed to this because I didn't want to forfeit what I had already paid for in my Groupon. So 28 units of Botox and 2 weeks later, and the middle part of each of my eye brows are completely immobile. I can't imagine how bad it would be if I would've gotten even more extra units that the doctor had recommended! Don't go here unless you're willing to risk the frozen Botox look. read more

Amazing team in an excellent location, always open and at your service. The kindest and warmest front desk and aestheticians in Chicago. I went to the spa for botox treatment and saw them twice after for little touch ups to make it perfect, and it is. In reading the other reviews, i had to laugh. I would say the only criticism i have of the exceptional doctors is that they spread themselves too thin and need to clone themselves. Yes, my doctor was sweating and rushed the last time i saw him. He ran, literally, from the Old Town office on Sedgwick to do a little touch up on me and make me Happy. People have unrealistic expectations, do not listen to their doctor for follow up and want immediate results. Old Town Med Spa provides and excellent service to the community. I came for botox (a certain number of units I've always had done elsewhere) and one of the doctors told me it was too little for me to see a result and he wouldn't administer less than a certain amount that was much higher than I wanted... I just got back from my first appointment, so I will update when I can. I picked Old Town MedSpa because they had a Groupon for laser hair removal. I had been shopping around a bit, but this was the first place to take the time and answer my trillion questions over the phone. They were even able to get me in the next day! The lobby was cozy and the women at the front desk were super nice and friendly. I was checked in fairly quickly even though their online service was acting a little wonky (not their fault). There was no one else in the waiting area so I was seen right away by Sabina, who answered even more questions and definitely calmed my nerves. I am getting my brazilian done, which I have had waxed before, so I am rather used to new people being down there. It is a sensitive area, but it was 10x better than waxing. I would not say it's painless - When people talk about laser hair removal feeling like little rubber bands, they are not kidding. Sabina put a cold gel on the skin and got to work. The whole thing was done in under 15 minutes. I can't speak to how effective it was yet, but I will be back in 4 weeks hopefully with some results! read more

I don't post reviews and considered doing this for months but it wasn't until I learned just how bad the situation was that I felt I must write this to prevent this happening to another patient. I also met women with same experience with him so I can't stay silent anymore. I came here for filler last year with very poor results. Everything was very rushed, doctor (Shazel) was talking over me, sweating and shaking a lot. The procedure was unlike any I've had. It was rough, it hurt, even with the dental block he did. Things went very lumpy and the filler was injected into the wrong areas of the lip, which resulted in blanched spots where balls of filler were sitting and filler more toward the inside of my top lip, instead. I went back for these issues (I was biting down on the lips accidentally went eating and even talking sometimes) and things just got far worse, and scary. I requested to see the brother for the remedial appointment to deal with the issues. They are twins - because I recalled having good service with him from maybe a couple years prior to that appointment. His brother is FAR calmer- they have very different energies, mannerisms and speaking styles. But when I walked in, it was Shazel....and he went so far as to gaslight me severely. In the original appointment, Shazel told me his brother was expecting a baby any day. In this appointment, I asked how his brother was doing and he caught himself and he said no, "I am the one with the baby". But there he was, sweating and shaking and racing around - I knew it was not him. Even more disturbing, he came back in the room a couple minutes later, totally different story! That it WAS the other brother having a baby, not him, and that I was "confused". That his brother had done the bad work. All the while he's telling me that none of the filler issues were his problem. Fast forward here to leaving the appointment, having terrible results that worsened everything so much - I called to demand a refund. I made it very clear I knew he had impersonated his brother. The practice manager agreed and issued a refund. Here's a summary of what happened next. -I began to suspect that he was not sober or in a healthy mental state. - Doctor was sweating, shaking and rushing me through the decision and procedure. Cut me off/interrupt to push the treatment along. Was rough, fast, ignored my discomfort. Gave me no time to try to explain what I was seeing and feeling, but rather would sit me back again, rushing, and inject in spots without taking a close look at my face that created a noticeable imbalance that was obvious to me. -Filler put in places I'd never had it before - very very strange. I felt him injecting all around my mouth but in lips. - Initially very pushy, said only solution was for him to go in with a needle and break up the filler with no numbing, which disturbed me. -He put on some gloves - with no lubricant - began stretching and squeezing my lips very hard. Extremely uncomfortable to the point I pulled away. I could feel the skin of my lips tearing and he didn't even notice. -He was so rough with the threads and filler that I began sweating. I have an extremely high pain tolerance. I pulled away from the needle but he'd tell me to keep still. He rushed, was shaking very badly and sweating. I asked why he was injecting filler in these odd places...the placement was above the lip even to the outside of my nose and greatly changed the proportions of my face. He could tell from my silence looking in the mirror that I was worried and so he proceeded with threads. Painful, very rough, very rushed. Again injected MORE FILLER without telling me why or what he was doing into the lips and surrounding areas. -Longterm pain ensued. Found out he had injected so much filler, so poorly around the thread that it, the entry point and end barb were totally encapsulated, cut off circulation. Overall, this devastated many areas of my life. Isolated, couldn't take comments from people. COVID hit and these sorts of appts weren't allowed so had to live with it. Now I'm fighting to get my medical records. Asked months ago, followed up, was given another date to expect them, no call. Manager said some records were in files in storage. Still don't have them. I NEED to know what filler and threads he used for me to continue with revision treatment safely. I'm worried that they are being altered. Manager could never tell me which products he used so fact that I can't get ahold of my vital health information is disturbing to me, also. At this point, I'm going to the state medical board. There are wonderful providers in the city of Chicago, and he is not one of them. Do not go to Old Town Medspa. This is a poorly managed, sketchy practice that has cost me thousands in necessary revision work. If you have also had a similar event here, get your medical records and go get checked out elsewhere. They ran over 30 min past my appointment time which is very frustrating with no update on timing and no apology. Your patients' time matters and it would be appreciated to schedule properly. If something happens, which I understand that things happen, an apology would be nice. It seemed like this was typical based off the overcrowded waiting area. It was my first time at Old Town Med Spa for a dysport appointment and came to this office because I had a groupon for 50 units and when I finally got into the office the doctor told me I would need 96 units of dysport. I've been getting dysport for the past four years (I'm 32 and mainly get for prevention) and have never needed that much. He refused to give me any less than the recommended as he said it wouldn't work if I didn't get 96 units. This is not the first time an office like this has tried to pressure me into getting more than I want/need. It felt like a scam so I left. Waste of time. read more

I really like this place! I've had injections twice so far and LOVED the results! Both doctors are confident, explain things throughly, and do a great job. I also referred a friend who was happy with her experience as well. This is my go to place for not only injections, but other things like skin tightening.
