It's good to know the Hinodeya's around the area are consistent. There are options here for everyone. I appreciate they have more than one vegan ramen option although I'm not sure who decided fried kale would be a great topping? It's awkwardly absorbant, delivering a mouthful of oil per bite. If there was a way to order that boiled, I would. You use a barcode to order from your phone which makes the process pretty fast. The bf ordered Tonkotsu, I got the vegan + the vegan gyoza. All were super delicious and full of flavor. I really like the vegan ramen here because the broth has a lot of complexity which is not as common (yet) for vegan ramen broths. The ambiance of the place is typical for a ramen shop. The unique thing they do when you arrive is to hit the taiko to sound your arrival, I guess? Hinodeya has become a great place to go post-run. I got the HINODEYA RAMEN (their house special), which was not bad! The portion was good for the price and the broth was flavorful. In terms of texture, the noodles were a little soft for my liking. But overall a good bowl of ramen! The soft boiled egg was scrumptious and the addition of spinach was interesting, but delicious. For an appetizer, I also got the Umami Brussel Sprouts. These were really good!! A little crispy and the fried garlic was the perfect addition of flavor. I highly recommend! My table sat outside and the patio was well shaded. My wife and I weren't even that hungry but really wanted to try since we aren't really in that area. Looking through the menu I normally order Pork Tonkatsu Ramen at restaurants and when I saw a price almost at $30 I was like no way! I decided to order the creamy vegan ramen with added Cha Siu instead. 1. Vegan Ramen and Cha Siu: *MIND BLOWN* Holy crap this was honestly the top 5 ramens I've ever had. It was seriously so creamy and rich. Perfectly seasoned and the added pork was perfectly braised and soft. The fried spinach was perfectly crunchy and delicious. I would never have guessed how good vegan ramen could be. Much more reasonably priced as well compared to the pork tonkatsu. 2. Clam Soup: I only tasted a bit of the broth and it was also really good! My wife got it mild and I felt like it was pretty spicy but she wished she got it more spicy lol. The broth was so rich and had a nice fresh clam taste without it being too seafoody. The clams were also fresh and delicious. She was craving this and she said it was exactly what she wanted. I met a friend here on a Tuesday. She was craving ramen, and I noticed they had some vegan options, so I decided to give it a try. The parking lot is really small, and they get busy, so it's hard to find a spot. I'd recommend going during their off hours to make sure you can park. I ordered the edamame sticks and Zen Ramen. The edamame sticks were bland; they could've used some salt and some sort of sauce. The ramen broth wasn't much better; it lacked depth of flavor and umami. I chose the medium spicy option but did not taste any spice at all. Although the broth wasn't very good, the toppings were delicious: lots of fresh veggies, the noodles had the perfect texture and bite, and the inari hit the spot. If they put more effort into injecting flavor into their vegan broth, I'd rate the ramen much higher. My non-vegan friend ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen and loved the broth, but did not enjoy the fried pork on top. She also loved the gyoza and spicy edamame. I enjoyed sitting in the back patio and ordering from my phone. The convenience was great. I love this place. I really do but in our recent visit, the squash in my vegan creamy ramen tasted moldy. I have also gotten moldy edamame here and there. Went to walk my dogs at Campbell Park and was excited to find this spot within a mile from the park AND it is dog friendly since they have a covered outdoor patio! Parking was kind of tough. Small parking lot that fits maybe 10-15 cars. One spot was open that was all the way in the corner which we were going for but luckily someone else left so we just swooped their spot instead which was easier to access. Pricing was quite standard. My husband and I both got the Hinodeya ramen (mine non spicy, his was spicy level 1 with crunchy spicy garlic flakes added on), each was $17. You could add on more spicy for 50 cents additional. Other varieties of ramen went up to $21-$23 Service was very quick. You ordered using the QR code on the table and even pay the bill on your phone. Food came out within 10 minutes and we probably finished eating within 20 minutes. The Hinodeya ramen was good, but I wish they had a non spicy miso ramen on the menu (only options were spicy miso or spicy corn miso) as miso is my typical go to. They also forgot my Naruto but I hadn't noticed until I finished the bowl...since I couldn't find it in my soup. Overall a pleasant experience. Finally stopped by Hinodeya last night for some ramen, apps, and ice cream after some light drinking. Service is very fast and prompt, space is small but accommodating. We rolled in around 10pm and were wrapped up by closing. I ordered the spicy miso ramen, we shared the chicken karaage, green gyoza, and takoyaki. Noodles were great texture, broth came out hot, egg slightly overcooked. Broth at "regular" spicy level was pretty mild. Flavor fell flat and was just salty. Wasn't bad per se, but it won't be in my ramen rotation. Karaage was batter heavy, takoyaki & gyoza were average. Note that cutoff for ice cream is 10:30pm on the dot so they can clean the machine. Glad I made it in time. The matcha soft serve was a nice way to end the meal and round things out. Not bad for $6. Overall, a nice late night dinner option in Campbell. One of our favorite South Bay ramen staples, especially since they're open until a relatively late 11 PM, perfect for those late evening cravings. Great selection of ramen flavors, including legitimately rich and flavorful vegan options, but I almost always go for my favorite Hinodeya Ramen - not too heavy but still very satisfying (note it's a scallop based broth, so those with shellfish allergies should watch out). Love their ordering system which makes it easy to customize everything, pay, and get your ramen quickly. The service is always super quick and efficient. You can choose your spice level from 1 - 5, each costing a little more. I'm content with level 2 but my partner goes for 3 which tastes pretty hot to me. Oh and get the free crunchy garlic topping! We got the Spicy Miso Ramen with tabera (fried garlic) for the kids at regular spice level, and the Vegan Yuzu Ramen cranked up to Oni-Kara heat for us perfect kick, so good! Also, do yourself a favor and try the "Creamy Ramen Vegan" definitely recommend bumping up the spice level for extra flavor! The place was packed even on a Tuesday night, and stayed lively until close. They've got indoor & outdoor seating, plus a great selection of Japanese beers. Just ok. I thought the Ramen here was pretty average at best. They definitely have a slightly different menu instead of choices than most other Ramen restaurants. Their style seems to have more seafood base versus the more typical pork broth options. One thing that was disappointing was many of the elements in the Ramen bowl were served cold. I ordered the scallops special and the scallops are pre-cooked and so served cold as was the bok choy and some other elements. The soup could also be served hotter because the soup cooled down quite quickly, especially given some of the other ingredients were not served hot as I mentioned. The noodles though were very tasty and cooked well with nice chew. The chicken kaarage was pretty good. Nicely fried little chicken nuggets that were crispy and not too greasy, though having some kind of mayo or sauce to dip in, would've been nice. Service is a little disorganized. You scan the menu on your phone, which is typical in many restaurants these days but what's odd is to place the order you actually have to pay including with tip which is confusing and what if you want to order more food? When I asked a waitress what to do she looked at me perplexed and said I'm not actually not sure and let me ask. Very odd. They do have a decent covered and heated outdoor seat seating area to make more space for diners, but the parking lot is quite small and fills up quickly. read more

While I don't believe that this place is breathtaking in any regard towards the ramen, I think the variety alongside the vegan friendly option makes this a solid choice for ramen in the bay area. Lovely relaxing Valentines patio lunch with my wonderful family. This was beautiful and fun. Everyone was incredibly kind and gracious. Very kid and dog friendly. Absolutely immaculate. Such a fun and interesting menu. I think there are three assorted vegan Raman soups offered. I had tan tan noodles and it was amazing! Rich and creamy with a deep well developed soup broth. I absolutely loved it and if offered, I'd have it again tomorrow! They have set the bar for warm unctuous broth filled with greens and noodles. They had magnificent assorted gyoza with unique dipping sauce. This was a revelation. Next time, we'll order an assortment of appetizers and go from there. These have the WOW factor.
