I was missing the cozy homey cafe feeling from Taiwan and the hot plates so I wanted to come try. I got the new york steak and beef noodle soup. The beef noodle soup was more on the tomato-y tasting side but it was still yummy. For the new york steak I got the pepper sauce and it had a little too much pepper but it was still good. It came with a salad and corn egg drop soup which was so yummy.
Came here for dinner around 6:30pm last Thursday. They're quite busy, but not completely full. Besides dine-in, they had some takeout customers as well. Not much decor worth mentioning. Just a typical mom & pop shop vibe. Even though there's only one server, the wait wasn't too long as she's very efficient and friendly. Food came out at a reasonable pace as well. I ordered the salmon sizzling plate with mixed sauce. It came with a small salad and egg drop soup, both of which didn't have too much flavor, but were still ok. The sizzling plate was hot, and the raw egg got cooked on it. The only flavor was from the sauce, and I preferred the black pepper part of it over the mushroom part. Portion size was decent. It's hard not to overcook the thin salmon filet on such a hot plate. If I wasn't trying to eat healthier, I would have chosen a different meat. For $20, I couldn't really complain, though. My husband had their Signature Ramen. It came out a bit later, but was piping hot. Overall, this place wasn't a bad option for a quick meal at a reasonable price, as long as you set your expectations right, and didn't expect anything special.
First time visit this restaurant in my neighborhood. Is very small restaurant and I think is family business. Not much table inside but surprise is full house, people keep coming in! So I think must be good. Ordered beef noodle with thick noodle. The beef is so soft and tender! I really like the soup, is thick and full of flavor. I like a lot and highly recommend. Deep fried tofu is good also but nothing outstanding. I notice lot of people order hot iron plate noodle too, I will definitely try next time. In my list for sure and will come back for sure!
Super authentic Taiwanese night market style sizzling plate restaurant. They used to have another sister restaurant in Mountain View too, but it closed down. I think this spot is way cleaner and tastes better though. Every few weeks I would come here to get a sizzling steak plate to satisfy my cravings. They let you choose between black pepper sauce, mushroom sauce, or both. I love getting both because I can't decide. The noodles are so good with the sauce too. My partner usually tries something different. They have curry rice and beef stew rice as well. Both pretty good. Personally they're too plain for me. I still would only want to get the sizzling plate here. The service here has been pretty good so far for the many times I've been here. Ordering and serving were quick
We were around the area and came across this little restaurant. The menu offered a wide variety of Taiwanese appetizers and dishes such as noodles and sizzling plates. We got the popular sizzling plate with pork and a bowl of noodle soup with beef shank and tendon. When the sizzling plate came out, it was extremely hot and stayed sizzling for about a minute. The pork chop was tender and the portion was generous. We chose the mushroom sauce, which turned out to be quite creamy and paired well with the spaghetti. The plate also came with a sunny side egg and broccoli. As for the beef noodle soup, the soup was thick and lightly spicy (I asked for the spicy version). I got the thick noodles which were firm and chewy (the exact texture I liked!). They also gave a pretty generous portion of beef shank and tendon for the bowl. The beef was braised and super tender. Overall the food taste and quality were better than I expected. It was a great place to have a quick but delicious lunch or dinner!

More than ten years ago, Ocha was probably one of the best-known places in the area serving Taiwanese night market-style sizzling steak and noodles. Their sizzling steak over spaghetti had that nostalgic flavor many Taiwanese people grew up with, and their corn soup tasted very close to what you'd get at night market steak stalls in Taiwan. The steak there was real beef as well - sometimes ribeye - though usually sliced thinner. Still very flavorful. This place, 7 Noodles Sizzling, was introduced to me by friends from Taiwan. In fact, whenever friends visit from Taiwan, this is one of the places they often suggest going together. For people who grew up with Taiwanese night market steak plates, this kind of food brings back a lot of memories. And once you try it, you immediately understand why. The steak here is a thick-cut New York strip, not the thinner cuts you usually see at Taiwanese night market steak spots. They even ask how you want it cooked - I went with medium rare. Just the strip itself already has great beef flavor. Normally a good strip steak is best enjoyed simply with salt and pepper, but here it's paired with the Taiwanese-style spicy black pepper sauce, and surprisingly the combination works incredibly well. It almost feels like a proper steakhouse cut of beef interpreted through the lens of Taiwanese night market flavors. Had a great, low-key meal at 7 Noodles & Sizzling in Cambrian Park, definitely a classic hole-in-the-wall spot. The lady running the place was super nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We ordered the chicken fried noodles which came with egg corn soup, both of which were delicious and came out looking really fresh and well-prepared. Simple, comforting food done really well, glad I found this place.
This food takes me back to Taiwan! I really enjoyed my medium rare steak sizzling plate with a mix of mushroom and black pepper sauce. The complimentary egg drop soup had ribbons of eggs and the broth wasn't too salty. Be careful of the splash when you first get the plate! Would recommend using your napkin as a guard. Service is fast and friendly and the ambiance is pretty comfortable like last time I went here. Definitely fulfills any craving I have for Taiwanese food. ^^
This place was really simple, but good for what it was. I got the spicy dry noodles but had a chinese word in front of it. The flavors were sour and savory but not really spicy. My brother and his friend got the sizzling plate with the black pepper sauce and it was delicious. They kept talking about how this taiwanese food was unexpectedly tasty. I had to agree.
Pretty tasty food with prompt service. Sizzling plate came with a salad and small egg drop soup. Both were pretty tasty. The size of the meals were good. The pepper sauce we got on the sizzling chicken plate was very peppery. We like pepper so it was tasty. But I can see some people who would say it's too peppery. The fried fish cakes were crispy and flavorful. Definitely get these! Overall a good experience and worth coming back for again.

My wife ordered the Stewed Beef prime Rib noodle soup with thin noodles and not spicy. Very flavorful and had plenty of super tender beef. 5/5 I ordered the Sizzling Plate Pork Chop with black pepper sauce. The plate had a sunny side ip egg, some broccoli, plenty of noodles, and a juicy pork chop on top. Lots of delicious black pepper sauce on top made for an excellent flavor. It included a small salad and a cup of egg drop soup (both good) ahead of the sizzling plate. 5/5 Highly recommend this restaurant!
We were in the neighborhood and wanted something with soup and Yelp brought up 7 Noodles & Sizzling. We ran into the owner as we were looking at the menu. She was very nice, welcoming, and sweet. She thought we lived in the area, when we told her we did not, she was surprised about how we knew about her restaurant. We said, Yelp! The parking lot is fairly decent. The restaurant is cozy with simple modern decor. It can accommodate maybe one large party of 10 people and then still have room for several tables of 2-4 people. The service is friendly and helpful. Though, depending on the server you get, they speak mostly Mandarin with limited English. Just be patient. The food comes out fairly quickly. Each weekday (except they are closed on Tuesday), they have a one specialty item that is 20% off. Check the special menu or the board outside. *Clear Broth Stewed Beef Shank Noodle. Choice of thin, thick, or udon noodles (4/5). My wife chose the thick noodles. I like the way they cooked the noodle which it wasn't cooked to death but it was tender, yet chewy. The broth was clean, flavorful, with white pepper. The beef shank was tender and were thick slices. It was served with a dipping sauce. *Stewed Beef Tendon & Prime Ribs Noodle Soup: rich beef meat broth with pickled green mustard, green onions, and vegetables. Choice of thin, thick, or udon noodles. I, too, chose the thick noodles. The beef in my dish was tender yet firm and enjoyable. The tendon was soft yet still kept it's form. I asked for medium spicy and boy this was at my limit. The broth was flavorful, fragrant, and deliciously spicy. Overall, a good dining experience. We will be back! Support your local business.

Tried 7 Noodles & Sizzling for the first time - close to our house and has a pretty diverse menu. I was in a ramen mood and ordered the Signature ramen. It was solid, with good noodles, generous amount of pork, some fish cakes, veggies, and an egg. The broth was good, but not top tier. In a place that sells many types of dishes and doesn't specialize in ramen, I understand everything can't be best-in-class. The egg, though, was hard boiled and didn't have a soft center, which I like. That seemed like a bit of a shortcut to be honest. My wife ordered a sizzling dish and liked it - perhaps that's their speciality. Service was good, the inside was pretty typical - nothing fancy, but nothing missing either. Came here to try the Taiwanese beef noodle soup! Broth had good flavor to it, noodles were good but slightly overcooked (probably would be just fine if it wasn't overcooked), beef cuts could have been a bit better and more generous. Good amount of spice (asked for less spicy). Liked the addition of fresh bok choy to round out the meal a little bit. If they improve on the above then it's a 5 star review from me and I'll be happy to update! read more

Hungry after a midday driving range session so three of us decided to visit 7 Noodles & Sizzling in San Jose to try the Taiwanese Black Pepper NY Steak and Noodles. A little history: we have been searching for a place that does this dish right since we lost our go-to spot years ago. They did not disappoint: served on a sizzling plate, the tender slices of NY steak drenched in rich, flavorful black pepper sauce, paired perfectly with noodles. The fried egg topped it all off. Everything arrived piping hot on the sizzling platter, which enhances the overall experience. The service was efficient and the restaurant is clean. Will definitely return for seconds. Send Noods Located at the former Hometown Noodles at the Cambrian Center strip mall, this newish spot offers up a mixed bag of Chinese and Japanese favorites in one convenient location. I wouldn't go sofar as to call it fusion, as the dishes don't necessarily stray too far from the originals, with the exception of maybe the chooseyour noodle option that most of the souls present. The Good: *I'm also not sure if they did a re-brand or if this is new ownership, but I definitely liked this version mo' betta'. The og Hometown Noodle soups was flavorless and insipid, while these soups were packed with flavor. *Service was fine, if not slightly overbearing, but that's pretty SoP for these types of establishments. *The Taiwanese Stewed Beef Prime Rib Noodle Soup was the big hit for us, as it had a lot of great umami flavor and came with some extremely fork-tender beef. *Fair pricing The Meh: *Location is fairly small *No outdoor seating The Ugly: *Tiny, shared parking lot that fills up fast. There is street parking along Woodard Rd, or you can park across the street at the largely abandoned Cambrian Park Plaza. Conclusion: Good spot to get your soup on. read more

While the restaurant's parking lot is on the smaller side, there is also plenty of parking in the lot across the street. My partner and I got the fried fish cakes to share, and they were crisp with a light salt and pepper seasoning. I also ordered the stewed beef prime ribs noodle soup, and I decided to get it with thick noodles. The meat was tender and the soup broth itself was very hearty and flavorful. The servers were friendly, and the food came out fairly quickly, too. I would like to come back here to try more of their noodle dishes in the future! read more
This little shop makes a bold and generous bowl of tasty noodles! After a long flight, a hot bowl of brothy noodles just hit right. The waiter greeted us and served us quickly and efficiently. The menu is one big page but so many choices. Both of us decided on the prime rib and tendon soup and noodles. Everything is made to order so your food is freshly prepared. About 15 minutes later our bowls arrived. Chock full of prime rib and noodles, what a beautiful sight! The meat was tender, a was everything in the bowl. The amount of tendon was generous and the noodles were cooked perfect. We chose thin noodles. The broth was flavorful and delicious. This bowl hit the spot. Unknowingly our choice was also a special so we received an additional 20% off. The restaurant is clean, bright and organized. We had a great, fast and tasty meal. Definitely recommend. read more

Had the pleasure of trying this Taiwanese restaurant on a Saturday afternoon around 1:15 pm! It's a hidden gem in a small plaza in south San Jose in the Almaden Valley. It's a small shop tucked in with a quaint interior that can seat up to 12-15 people. There's lots of parking within walking distance of the restaurant. We were sat immediately and the waiter was fast and efficient. We ordered the popcorn chicken, curry rice over chicken katsu, and stewed beef. It took about 10 minutes for our order to arrive. My curry also had the soup of the day which was egg drop soup. It was warm, filling and hearty. The popcorn chicken was seasoned well, but over fried and a bit hard to chew. The chicken katsu was great with equal portions of rice and chicken. It was crispy, lots of katsu sauce, and delicious. I wish there were more vegetables though... An amazing place to get Taiwanese night market sizzling plate. There are not enough places that have sizzling plates with the quality and the flavors this place offers. This is the most authentic sizzling plate in the area and my family and I are motivated to make the trek over every couple of weeks. We always order chicken, pork and steak sizzling plates. They come with a soup, a salad, and a huge plate of noodles, veggies, an egg, and the main protein. I truly look forward to this everytime. The only drawback is that this location is a little small so you can often expect a short line if you're going at peak hours. The staff is nice and friendly though and will do their best to get you seated quickly. Parking is relatively easy with a sizeable parking lot outside. read more

This is place we have never eaten at, and on recommendation from many 4 and 5-Star Yelp reviews, decided to give it a try. After ordering, the starter egg drop corn soup and a small salad of crispy lettuce and Asian vinaigrette arrived in about ten minutes. These were actually tasty and refreshing. But then, the main courses arrived. We ordered the Sizzling Spaghetti Pork Chop with a mushroom sauce, as well as a Tonkatsu Ramen and a Beef Stew Udon. Nothing stood out about the ramen and udon. They were normal fare. The sizzling spaghetti (that should have tipped me off in the first place, as spaghetti and hot plates do not go well together...) on the sizzling plate was VERY hot (enough to quickly cook the raw egg). The large thin pork chop was resting on top. There was no way to take off the pork chop without making a big mess, so the spaghetti underneath started to dry out from the heat and some stuck to the plate! The pasta kept on cooking on the hot plate and soon became overcooked. By the time the food was cool enough to eat, the noodles were quite soggy. Not a great experience. The taste, again was standard fare, and though not bad, nothing stood out about it. The food did not taste bad, but it certainly does not merit a 4 or 5-Star review in my opinion. Relatively small and cosy Taiwanese restaurant with an interesting menu mix. There were Japanese items like ramen and curry as well. Our order came out pretty quickly. They offered soup with some of their dinner plates so we got that first. It was a corn egg drop style soup. It was not too sweet and perfectly savory and we cleaned up our bowls within minutes. Spicy dry noodles- 5/5- didn't come with any meat but was topped with some egg halves. It was dry but noodles were still slurpy and delicious. We didn't need any extra sauce to flavor it further as well. It was not too spicy so don't let the name stop you from ordering it. Curry chicken rice plate-4/5- very generous serving of rice, chicken and curry along with a little corn and broccoli. Thankfully the sauce was not sweet. Though it was good, it's not the best I have eaten. The coating on the fried chicken was too thick as well. It took some effort to cut through it. Spicy chicken wings-3/5- pixel sized chicken wings with some dry spice rub. Again, not too spicy. I didn't enjoy these much though. Ramen-4/5- my husband got this and he liked it. I got the chicken curry and it was so delicious- the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The curry was a perfect sweet and salty flavor-- I really loved it! My friends got miso ramen and the beef ramen which they loved-- good portion size and delicious broth! The service was very fast and respectful, had a great lunch here! 7 Noodles & Sizzling is pretty solid casual Taiwanese fair, which although I'm not an expert on does hit some pretty good notes and has great value. The food ain't perfect, but hard to argue with the portion size and efficiency. I'd sure hit them up when convenient and it really helps that there's an absence of good Asian spots in this part of Campbell (like an empty void of options), so I'm more than happy to support them. Overall I'd place them at a 4.5 personally, but no qualms rounding up given their respectable service and location in a criminally underserved area for Taiwanese. Servers were all quite attentive throughout and took extra care to explain the menu items before we even started (in pretty good detail to boot). You kind of have an ecclectic collection of items (Curry Katsu and ramen??) but they heartily recommend their Taiwanese fare for first timers. Boiled veggies - 3/5 This side is pretty bare bones, simple boiled bok choi with a side dish of a light soy sauce. Nothing terribly special, but what it says is indeed what it is. Admittedly it wasn't my order, but gotta get fiber somehow eh? Fried chicken - 4/5 Pretty good with an extra crunch to them. Seasoning wasn't heavy and pretty easy to pair with just about anything on their menu. I'd prefer considerably more spice though, as it felt notably absent! Clear broth stewed beef shank noodle soup - 4.5/5 For a budget eat this was solid. Broth very cozy and just right on balance. Noodles were on soft side and didn't quite have enough chew, but still homey, so considerably more catering for the Chinese palatte. Beef was quite tender and pretty good. Sizzling plate - 4/5 Not a combo I'm personally familiar with but great on value. You get quite the hunk of steak cooked pretty much to order. You also get a salad with ginger dressing and a cup of corn+egg drop soup with this entree. The sizzle is all good, but temperature control / meal composition could be better. Due to all the water in the sauce it's hard to get a really good sear off of the noodles / meat. Their mixed sauce was a mellow yet homey blend of mushroom and black pepper and keeps everything in a happy space with coziness. I'm a rounding up since I think it's a cozy establishment with great bang for your buck. It's more of a budget eatery with bigger portions, so expectations should be kept in line, but very homey and easy to eat on a more regular basis. Helps the sizzling plate could readily feed a smaller person twice over. read more
