Corn tempura was ok for me but glad I tried it because I was curious. I've had the warm niku udon at the Udon Mugizo in Mountain View which was great, and I'm sure it's great at this location too. And we gobbled on it in no time. The udon was freshly made and has a nice texture, not too chewy but not too soft. Just fresh and perfect! Once seated, service is good and food came out pretty fast. Interestingly, they have a few more dishes in their menu that are not offered in the Mtn. View location. This hit the spot! There was a long wait to enter. We just stopped by because we were in the area and were craving something warm. We've never heard of the place before but it was clearly very popular. We were just 2 so we were seated in 10mins, but others that were a party of 4+ that were in line before us had to wait for 45min+. So I would not wait here for more than 20min for the food, but 10min is fine enough. We got the beef donburi with a mini udon, as well as a curry udon with a side of shrimp and veggies tempura. The beef donburi was very good and hit the spot, as well the curry udon. You just can't go wrong with those orders imo. I wish we didn't get the sides because that was just too much food. Service wasn't the best but that's to be expected since it was so packed. We had to catch our waiters attention everytime we wanted to order, get more water, or get the check. And that was pretty hard to do, to get them to look at us because they were just running around. Vibes wise, it's very family friendly and they have a decently sized parking lot all to themselves. The food was honestly so good, very rich and creamy flavors, but what really made me want to leave a 5 star review was how kind and careful the staff were with my little cousin's allergies (she is allergic to a lot of stuff). At first glance, the restaurant didn't look like much from the outside LOL but as soon as we walked in, we were like WOW. We came for lunch on a Saturday around 2:30 and there was no wait. Our server, Tom, was amazing!! We had a bunch of little questions about their menu options and he was so patient and helpful. I got the Mentai Cream Udon ($19.25) and it was SOO good!! My go to udon place. Service is always so nice and attentive. Although on weekends it will get really busy it's totally worth it. The tonkotsu udon comes with 3 thickly sliced pork chasu, shrimp tempura, a perfect soft boiled egg, and tempura flakes. The broth is flavorful and you can add more spice to it if you'd like. Place is pretty big but it could be harder to get a 6+ party in. The regular size is $19.25 and I think it's perfectly filling. We've been to the Udon Mugizo in Mountain View before, but it was our first time visiting this store in Saratoga. It was busy for Sunday lunch, but luckily we were seated right away. The waiter greeted us warmly. We got the signature tonkotsu udon and mentai creamy sauce udon. We also saw a special appetizer called crispy onigiri bites and decided to give it a try. The onigiri bites were super crispy and came with some bacon pieces. The tonkotsu udon broth was thick, and it was topped with a piece of shrimp tempura, slices of chashu, a soft boiled egg, and spinach. The mentai creamy udon was super creamy as the name suggests. Note that the mentai udon didn't have with any meat by default. The udon in both bowls had great textures that were firm and chewy. Overall the food taste was great. I was a little disappointed that when I asked for my egg to be fully cooked, they couldn't do it because the soft boiled eggs were pre-made. I wish they were more flexible about it. The staff was friendly and attentive without making anything feel rushed. Also we had our son so they brought share plate without us even asking for him. I loved that they considered that. For the amount of food, the quality, and the overall experience, the prices felt well worth it. We will definitely be going back.
