We enjoyed a very nice Sunday dinner here after my daughter recommended we try it out. It's a small diner-turned-dinner with a peaceful inside. We were greeted and shown to a table right away. Our server, Robert, was awesome! He was kind enough to upgrade our veggie tacos to the fish option with no extra charge. The "tacos" come open-faced on a crispy piece of tempura seaweed. It was an unexpected highlight of our dinner and definitely worth ordering! Complimentary miso soup and salads were quick to come out after ordering our rolls. My favorite was the Perfect roll, while my daughter enjoyed the Snow White and my husband the Oh Baby roll. All of the fish is buttery smooth and fresh! We also loved the Warriors and Godzilla roll. Flavor: 10/10 Service: 3/10 Ambiance: 8/10 Adjacent to the Yamagami's Garden Center is this somewhat nondescript restaurant called Oh Baby Sushi. They opened this location in 2026, but there are a couple other locations in Sunnyvale and Redwood City that are more established. Right away, I get the sense that this is a converted old school diner-type restaurant that has now been outfitted to be a sushi restaurant. I actually enjoy the vibes of the old blue, leather diner booths combined with the modern simplistic appeal of their chandelier at the entrance. It is a small establishment. It didn't take long on this Sunday evening for the dinner rush to arrive. Service seemed ordinary at first, but then a series of oddball events occurred. We made 2 orders of the omakase: a 12pc box set of nigiri & sashimi with miso soup, side salad and sushi rice paired with dried seaweed. 1. Even though we specified 2, and they charged us for 2 omakase orders, they only gave us one -- saying that they did not have enough of their main fish to make another order. 2. The manager (I presume) asked us what we liked the most out of the omakase, but we only tried a couple pieces so far and couldn't give much of a genuine response, which felt awkward. 3. The ginger and wasabi came mid service. 4. Because we were still hungry after sharing the omakase, we ordered the Oh Baby Roll which took a long time since everyone else had already arrived and ordered. 5. They double charged us for the omakase. As an apology, they did not charge us for the Oh Baby Roll (but these prices are not equal). They didn't seem to know how to cancel the order, so they promised the refund would take effect the next day, which did not happen. Our waiter did apologize profusely for these mishaps, and also reasoned that it was his first day there. Staff in general were nice. I probably would have ranked them with fewer stars if I didn't believe them. Suffice it to say, I will be contacting them regarding my refund soon and this will be my judgment of whether I come back a second time to re-try them. The food tasted fresh and delicious. Nice healthy servings of fish, and a careful flavor on your tastebuds where you can tell there was a special flair for this restaurant. Their miso soup was very sweet for some reason though. The aesthetics were also beautiful! It truly was an omakase. The Oh Baby Roll also offered big pieces of flavorful fish. But I can't even enjoy the food and spend much time writing about it because I am so distracted by the understaffed and inadequately trained team. read more

Cute sushi spot in a ln unassuming corner lot. It seems to have a good following because it stayed quite busy through Thursday evening dinner even though the location is a bit hidden. The interior is clean, bright, spacious. We got miso soup and they gave us little complimentary side salads with it. The sushi was very fresh and both rolls were got were delicious! I was surprised the vegan rolls are priced the same as some of the seafood rolls. We didn't try any of the vegan rolls but they have a variety of them so this is a good spot for vegetarians (had a vegan udon dish on the menu too!). *3.8* We were able to finally try out the Oh Baby Sushi location in Cupertino recently and it was not as good as we had expected... The restaurant is located in a small plaza so parking can be an issue during peak hours, but it was it moderately empty when we came around 7pm on Sunday. The restaurant itself is quite small with 7-8 small tables and a handful of bar seating. I'm not sure how long this location has been opened for, but staff seemed to still be a bit unorganized and confused at times, especially with the orders. Regarding the food, most of the dishes were really salty for some reason. We had ordered around 5 rolls, but only the Double Toro and Snow White rolls stood out to us. The sushi tacos were surprisingly our favorite. The vegan udon and miso soup were extremely salty and we couldn't even finish them. Lastly, the deluxe chirashi bowl was nothing extraordinary. The sashimi pieces on top were delicious and tasted fresh, but it was a lot of repetitive yuzu flavor and there was too much rice. We parked at Yamagami's Garden Center and found the restaurant tucked off to the side. We dropped in based on great reviews. From the outside, the building is not very inviting, and entering the space gives off a 1950s diner vibe. We sat at the bar and immediately loved the atmosphere and the high-end choices on the menu. We selected the Regular Chirashi Bowl, which came with great pieces of fresh fish, along with the Spicy Udon. Next time, I will go with the Deluxe Bowl for the more premium selection. It seems to be a diner turned sushi spot and translates to America married Japan vibes for me. Came here on a Thursday evening with a party of 5, no problem with parking or seating. Since our group was larger we decided to try many different rolls. I love sushi so I knew I'd like it, but it was even better than expected. I loved how different each roll was, some places don't have many vegetarian options in which this case was great. My fiance and I spontaneously decided to come here on a Sunday around 5. We noticed it was opening a few months ago and had been wanting to try it. To our surprise, it was pretty quiet. Towards the end of our meal (6pm), more people started trickling in. We had eaten here before when it was Bobbi's and the interior is pretty much the same. To eat, we ordered the deluxe chirashi bowl and oh baby box. Both of them came with miso soup and salad. The miso soup and salad were both pretty standard, but they get some bonus points because the salad had some radishes. The food took about 15/20 minutes to be ready (despite only having 4 parties here), but we didn't really mind because it's a really cozy place and it also just opened. All of the food was very fresh and enjoyable. The stand outs were the salmon toro (of course), fresh crab salad, and scallops. If I only had to order one, I'd order the oh baby box. The chirashi deluxe was still super good, but I liked the variety in the oh baby box more. Also, the ginger here is REALLy good. My fiance and I were trying to figure out if it's fresher/or prepared in house? It's very sweet and super thin! They have not started on my order at all! What's the point of taking advance order if you cannot fulfill it! So disrespectful of your customer time. Order finally ready at 8:10 pm. We went as a group of 8 on their 4th day after opening. It was a warm day so we chose to sit outside as the inside mostly has smaller tables. It was our first time at Oh Baby and we were excited to try all the vegetarian sushi. We ordered the spicy veggie roll, veggie tiger roll, call me nuts roll, veggie on fire roll, and the jalapeño bomb (with spicy tofu). Everything was delicious but my favorites were the veggie on fire, the jalapeño bomb, and the spicy veggie. None of the items were very spicy but the jalapeño one had a slight kick. The only ready I didn't give this place 5 stars is because of the service, which was very slow. However, they are just starting out so it may improve as they get more settled. Additionally, the veggie rolls were all priced the same or higher than the traditional rolls, which made the bill quite steep. We were seated and waited around 10 minutes for anyone to approach the table. There were around three total tables, including us that actually had people. There were around four employees behind the counter and none of them seem to know what was going on. Someone came over to take our order finally and we waited another 15 minutes or so until they brought the food. We did not get our drinks until the food came. I had ordered spicy mayo with my sushi and it did not come. We also ordered edamame as an appetizer and it never came. We asked THREE more times for the spicy mayo before it came. They finally brought out the Ginger we also asked for after we had finished our sushi. When the check came, there was an extra charge added and we were still being charged for the edamame. The strangest thing is that during our meal, our "waiter" was sitting down at the booth next to us playing on his phone. If you're on a break, how about be professional and go to the back? This was after not bringing us the things we asked multiple times for.
