I'm in DC for my birthday and this was my first official food stop in the city; HipCityVeg did not disappoint. I started with the Philly cheesesteak; not a traditional Philly, but if you're open to a plant based twist it delivers that savory, cheesy comfort bite. Definitely worth trying if you love a good cheesesteak. The Smoky Sweet Snack Wrap surprised me in the best way; crispy, sweet, tangy, and packed with flavor. That little snack attack actually satisfies. The Wake & Bac'n sandwich was a standout; and they serve breakfast all day which is always a win. The JUST Egg was fluffy, the tempeh bacon had great texture, and the HipCity sauce tied everything together perfectly. Now let's talk about the Ziggy Burger; juicy, smoky, layered right. It gave everything it was supposed to give and then some. If you're searching for a solid vegan burger in DC, this needs to be on your list. I finished with the protein chocolate milkshake; smooth, rich, and not overly heavy. The perfect landing. It's also right across the street from Capital One Arena; which makes it an easy pre show spot if you're in the area. For my first DC food experience; this was a strong start.

Great service, no wait in line, and high-quality food. I got the cauliflower bites with a side of sweet potato fries. They didn't feel greasy or oily. The taste was superb. The sauces helped the dishes build character and flavor. There's not a whole lot of seating inside, and the restroom was blocked, but overall a solid lunch spot.

Nice fully vegetarian fast food. Good options, rotating menu, nice beverage options, clean. Tasty, fast. Delicious. A little pricey, but you always pay more for good food..

Entering HipCityVeg after getting pleasantly lost during my evening DC stroll, I realized I was really hungry. In that state, I could only stare dumbly at the menu while standing at the counter. Everything looked like exactly what I wanted to eat. But I finally settled on the smokehouse burger: a Beyond Meat patty topped with onion rings and smoked gouda with a golden BBQ sauce. Extremely satisfying. The employee at the counter recommended the Sriracha aioli to go with my sweet potato fries, and I'm glad she did. It's sharp and savory and adequately balanced the sweetness of the fries, which were nicely crispy. I topped it off with a glass of their refreshing turmeric-tangerine beverage. This place is vegan, fast-casual burgers done right.

Vegan fast food? Yes please! My friend and I split a couple of sandwiches, one crab cake and one chick'n. Both were fantastic! We actually got a Philly cheesesteak sandwich to go for the next day and it held up great too! Limited seating and quite busy, but overall really good!

man I love this place. as a lifetime vegetarian, I was thrilled when I found out about this in philly a few years back. then they opened in dc and I couldn't wait to try it out. Their veg nuggets are crispy, flavorful and come with the best dipping sauces - i recommend the siracha aioli and hipcity sauce. The cauliflower nuggets are also delightful and bring a whole new flavor profile to fried foods. The fries- reg and sweet potato- are always up to par and allow for two dipping sauces! I think the veggie burger could use some work, at least consistency-wise, but my parents both love the meatball sub and ziggy burger. The delivery and takeout is usually pretty fast, but I also like to order there because the people are typically pretty friendly. the storefront itself is pretty small, only 4-5 places to sit and eat, but it serves its purpose if you wanna stay there to chow down. All in all, I'm thrilled that there's such a great veg place in town to put in a good word for meat alternatives! if you're interested in going veg or vegan, or if you're just looking for some fast food that feels a bit healthier, look no further!

To be honest, I haven't much liked most of the mains that I have gotten here in the past. I gave the crabcake a try and it's pretty good. Absolutely drowned by sauce but other than that, tasty and a nice crispy exterior. It says crab on salad, but note that the salad is actually coleslaw

If you're looking for healthy vegan comfort food, look no further! HipCityVeg is a fast casual spot with delicious food that'll boost your mood. I've had their breakfast sandwiches and am eager to return. Service is friendly and helpful. Try it out!

It was nice to stop into HipCityVeg for lunch. I got a simple Chick'n sandwich but it was so delicious! This place is always on point for quick plant-based eating options! It was nice to eat here while I'm in town.

Pretty tasty! We went around late morning on a Monday so no wait to order even though the lady taking orders may have lacked a little patience.... food came out pretty fast. I don't remember the name of my wrap but it was good. I didn't hear much from my partner because he didn't put the burger down. Also got the kale lemonade which was good. When I'm in the area I'll definitely visit again.

I never got to try HipCityVeg in NYC before they closed, so I stopped in while visiting DC. The menu has burgers, sandwiches, nuggets, fries, shakes, and more, so they cover all the fast food bases but with everything vegan. We tried a bunch of different things, but my favorites were the nuggets (a little on the expensive side but excellent) and the ziggy burger (provolone, bacon, and special sauce). Their seasonal milkshake flavor when we visited was birthday cake, and this was a nice sweet treat. I wish they hadn't closed in NYC, because I really enjoyed our meal here.

HipCityVeg is located on 7th and H street. A Philadelphia based restaurant that has made its way to DC, just one block away from Chinatown. It is in a small building, however, it has lots of charm. It is an all vegan restaurant that serves burgers, sandwiches, nuggets, shakes, and sweet potato fries. They also offer gluten free options. I ordered the spicy crispy burger and the wait was not so bad. You will be happy to know that the chick'n is made of organic grains including pea protein and ancient grains. Once I received my order I could not wait to make it disappear. I took one bite and quickly took another. It was a juicy burger and the cilantro lime slaw was wickedly delightful. The toasted bun was nice; the pickles and aioli were appreciated. It was definitely satisfying on numerous levels. I devoured it like a lady. Next time, I have my eyes on the Philly cheesesteak, oh maitake, the legendary fries, and one of the seasonal shakes. Everything here is never not vegan and everyone-friendly. "True happiness is not in possessions!" Tips: Metered parking Clean restrooms

HipCityVeg is a solidddddddd place in DC especially for veggie/vegan people! The atmosphere is nice and modern and the staff we nice and knowledgeable. But I do with the space was ALOT less cold lol and more seating space But the menu is the star of the show as it offers innovative and delicious options that redefine what vegan cuisine can be. From the crave-worthy steak and cheese to the refreshing fruit punch and kale lemonade and the crunchy french fries. Each bite tasted like meat that and really wanted to try the other items on the menu. The commitment to sustainability it's also respectable, with eco-friendly packaging and and trying to use organic items. The only struggle is the high price but it was pretty worth it and is expected for DC Whether you're a dedicated vegan or just exploring plant-based options, HipCityVeg is a must-try

I want to go vegan, is this a good place to eat?

This is the perfect place to eat! All of their ingredients are vegan, and they have gluten-free options, too!

    What is the "chick'n"?

It is a chicken substitute. Most likely a soy protein or other vegan meat alternative. Their buffalo chick'n sandwich is SO good, you almost can't tell it's not meat.

The establishment is spacious, with plenty of seating, and I really loved the decor. The food was absolutely delicious, although I wasn't very familiar with traditional Romani cuisine. I ordered the steak and eggs, which came with meat, eggs, and breakfast potatoes, basically a full breakfast. My only complaint is that a lot of the other menu items didn't come with sides, and they didn't really offer an à la carte option to add something to complete my brunch. So, just keep that in mind when ordering. I honestly cannot remember the name of the drink I ordered, but it was so good that I got it twice! LOL. If you're in the area, most definitely check them out. The bathrooms were also nice and clean, and our waiter was excellent! Overall, we had a really good experience and I'd definitely come back.

The sandwich I got on my first visit was really good and exactly what I was hoping for. I ended up going back a few days later and ordered the chicken parm, thinking it would be another sandwich. It actually came as a salad instead. On the in-store menu it looked like it was listed under sandwiches, so I'm not sure if it was user error or just a menu layout issue, but it's something to double check when ordering. That said, the chicken parm itself was still good, I just wasn't expecting it on a salad. Overall, the food quality is there, just make sure you're ordering exactly what you want. Also, they're on InKind, so definitely take advantage of that if you use it. Don't feel forced to order from the kiosk, you do have the option to order from the front.

Cilantro and lemon aioli on a club? I would have never thought of that combination, but it works. Between those flavors and the high quality bacon they use, every bite hit exactly how it needed to. Truly impressive. I ordered through the kiosk, so I can't really comment much on customer service. They just called my name when it was ready, and everything ran smoothly, so no issues there. I am already planning my return because that buffalo caesar wrap is calling my name next. If it tastes anything like that turkey club, I already know I'll be back again.
