Soy sauce and green bean worm from the Amazon forest. (Green bean worms are a delicacy)

The atmosphere was amazing, there was a kid who pissed on me and he threw up his salmon smelling milk on me. The service was astonishing, the server gave me the menu but instead of keeping it on the table, he smacked it in my face and it left a mark. The server then said to kill myself just because I was 3'7 inches tall. The food was amazing. It tasted just how I liked it, garbage can juice sprinkled with jumbo maggots. The sauce was amazing too because it tasted just like my mothers famous house sauce, mixed up soil with worms. Last but not least, the dessert was fantastic. The green tea ice cream tasted just like green tea, except it was the type of green tea u grab from the bottom of the compost bin. Honestly, I'm amazed about the chefs ability to not give a shi about how his food tastes like. Would recommend for suicidal people.

Service was excellent and staff were super friendly and attentive. We ordered an assortment of dishes and everything was delicious. The Victoria roll was the favorite, and of course spicy salmon sashimi. Overall great food and atmosphere. Will definitely return here.

Great sushi place! The staff are always super friendly and polite in person and on the phone. I've come here a few times now and everything i've ordered has always been really fresh and delicious, well made, good quality all around. The menu has a ton of options and some great veggie rolls (the victoria roll is awesome!) - the only issue is that most things are a bit on the expensive side, but the sushi is good quality so I can't really complain too much. The service is usually great, both dine-in and take-out orders have always come out of the kitchen quickly and it's never too busy. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant!

Been here a few times over the years. Always seems packed when I go. Food is pretty good, and service as well. Definitely try the specialty rolls out, and also the karrage. If you just want your basic Cali/dynamite rolls it is fairly similar to any other sushi place, very standard. Miso soup has a ton of green onions in it which adds to the flavour. I recommend coming here if you are around the area.

Victoria Roll (Wild salmon and cucumber topped with avocado). Very tasty.

The restaurant is spacious and cozy. For each table there is a tablet for ordering. I ordered a Soy Chicken Karaage Donburi as it looked delicious on the menu pics. The rice bowl came with miso soup. The donburi looked good with sufficient portion for a strong man. It was tasty, however as I kept eating the soy chicken karaage got more and more salty. Finally I couldn't have anymore. I finished the rice and it was well cooked. I drank two cups of tea after having the donburi. I didn't try other dishes, perhaps I will give them a try when I come here next time. I do hope the chef could make it less salty. Apart from that, service was fine and the ambient was quiet and tidy.

The hubs and I needed a quick lunch and with a toddler and infant in toy, it needed to be FAST. Our boys had already eaten so we didn't need to worry - they were kindly attended to by YouTube while we were satisfied with our food. We shared a combo which was delicious - the BC roll was definitely a wonderful surprise and the fish was just so fresh! But it wasn't until the hubby saw a plate of sashimi that he knew he had to get the toro and it HIT THE SPOT. Service was good - they were attentive and attended to our boys' needs. sometimes the best dinners are the ones you don't plan…read more our party of five ended up at mika sushi on a saturday for an impromptu dinner and a chance to catch up. the restaurant was lively without feeling chaotic, with a bright, modern dining room, high ceilings, warm wood finishes, comfortable booths, and an open sushi bar where you can catch glimpses of the chefs at work. it felt casual, welcoming, and easy to settle into for a relaxed evening. the hardest part wasn't finding a table...it was deciding what to order. the menu is extensive, with pictures of a variety of sushi, sashimi, specialty rolls, bentos, noodles, donburi, and plenty of vegan friendly options. i spent far longer than i'd like to admit staring at the menu before finally ordering the "my favourite combo." for $24.95, you get to choose four items, which turned out to be a great value. i went with the tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi, dynamite roll, and a negitoro cone. my order initially came out with negitoro maki instead of the cone, but it was quickly corrected with an apology, which i appreciated. everything arrived looking fresh and nicely presented. the tuna and salmon sashimi were thickly sliced, buttery, and fresh, exactly what i was hoping for. the negitoro cone was generously filled with chopped tuna and green onions, and the nori still had a nice crisp snap to it. the dynamite roll was probably my least favourite of the four. i was surprised to find a slightly soggy piece of yam tempura tucked in with the prawn tempura, crab, and avocado. i'm not sure if that's normally part of the roll or if it was added by mistake, but it wasn't something i was expecting from a dynamite roll. i also would have liked the prawn tempura to be crispier. it was missing that satisfying crunch you'd normally expect from a dynamite roll. it wasn't a deal breaker, and i didn't mention it to our server, but it just wasn't the standout dish for me. one thing i appreciated was that the portions were generous without being over the top. i left feeling comfortably full and never once questioned whether the combo was worth the price. with such a large menu, there's something for just about everyone, including plenty of vegan friendly options, making it an easy place to bring a group with different tastes. unlike some japanese restaurants where everyone shares dishes, mika sushi feels more like a place where each person orders exactly what they're craving. between the fresh sashimi, generous portions, reasonable prices, and relaxed atmosphere, mika sushi delivered exactly what we were looking for that evening. was every bite perfect? not quite. but the food was fresh, the value was excellent, and spending a few hours catching up with family made it a night well spent. sometimes the best dinners really are the ones you don't plan.

An absolute A+ to Chef Keith and Chika for their mastery of perfecting a great omakase experience in the tricities. They are reservations only (and for a good reason!) and this can be done on their new online portal!! by controlling the number of seatings, Chef K and Chika are able to interact and share their craft with patrons in an intimate and personal way. There is no hustle and bustle or fakeness that would otherwise follow some restaurant vibes. There is purely passion for fish, customer service and, of course, metal music! I urge you to dine at the chefs bar and let Chef K tell you his extensive and wonderful background from catering some A list bands, to being on tour, and changing restaurant models all while being fed an amazing feast. The fish is sourced from Japan and screams quality and flavour. He knows exactly what he's doing with all the fish profiles and pairing them with a variety of notes like shiso, yuzu and ginger. Between the 14 unbelievably mouth watering and satisfying dishes, Chef K and Chika's kindness shared the spotlight easily. Humble beginnings have led to an extraordinary and legendary journey for SKK. Some of the special highlights were the blue fin tuna, South American jumbo prawn, Spanish mackerel and the scallops. I cannot wait to bring my omakase/metal loving friends and family here to join in on the greatness because sharing truly is caring and this gem is too awesome to keep to myself!
