I tried it on lunch break on a Friday- I ordered ahead of time and could schedule a time online which was really handy. It was ready when I got there. I got chicken and broccoli and crab Rangoons. I also was able to pick a free salad I ended up giving to a coworker. It all tasted good. It was a little hefty in price though. Over $20 for just me, and pretty simple dishes. Not like it was huge portions. $8+ for 4 crab Rangoons is pretty steep in price. $2 a crab Rangoon? Yikes. Trying to find parking downtown was really hard with the construction down there. I wish they were able to have a designated pick up parking spot. The establishment is very nice from what I saw on the inside and seems very well polished. Came here before a concert while having a reservation. Service was probably slower than usual but then again they were serving a concert crowd. The crab rangoon were probably the best I've ever had. Very last minute decision to come here for dinner for our Anniversary date night because this was the only place that was open fairly late. We got here around 9:35 and were extremely happy that they still so does even though they closed at 10. Major MAJOR shout out to our server first of all! What a gem! So friendly and always checking and honest if we needed anything - and it was out of genuine concern and not just to make us leave. In fact, we ended up staying beyond 10:00 p.m. and he was still super nice the entire time. Really friendly and bubbly and nice to talk to as well. As for the food.. I got the beef and broccoli and really loved it! It was steaming hot! Definitely freshly made. Good chunks of meat and really good amount of broccoli as well. I love the ratios on this year. There was quite an amount of sauce though which I was not expecting but overall it was a really good dish. May or may not have burned my tongue, but it was all worth it! My fiance got the Thai chicken curry from the entree section. He also had a good amount of vegetables in there and the chicken was really well cooked. Quite some big pieces of chicken too. Another fresh dish with a lot going on but very good things going on. We got the side salad for both orders. It was a simple greens plus dressing kind of a salad, but that dressing was out of this world! I asked the server and he said it was an in-house carrot ginger dressing. I'm now on the lookout for a good one to purchase! To end the meal we asked for the scallion pancake. Server was surprised this was our ending, but he went with it. The foods and drinks are both well above average and fair for the price point. But not overly impressive. The service on the other hand is never consistent as it depends on the server you get. The management can also be funky. There was a time where the server had spilled all over my clothes. And I received no discount or reimbursement of any kind. Which was disappointing. Additionally we paid for and extra of each. Returned home and we were missing 1 of the rolls and all of the sauces. And only 1 fortune cookie. Called and went back for the missing items. Before we took off, checked the contents and we were still missing 1 of each of the sauces. And only a $10 gift card for our compensation. Went back in and got the extra sauces but was questioned. And extra fortune cookies. I was told that a $.0675 cookie is only provided with the Chinese dish and not rolls We got home, checked the receipt and called back to inform them where the mistake was made. Asked to speak to the manager to express my disappointment in their value of my time and for the fact that we had to eat cold chicken and warm sushi. No remorse what so ever. The service and sushi was fantastic. It was a busy Sunday and we had a five person party but we were able to get to a table within 5 minutes. The only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is that they didn't have any forks. It was hard for my 6 year old to eat noodles and sushi with chipsticks so she ate with her hands. No biggie and they told us they were running short...but still. Anyways, we had a great time and food hit the spot for our sushi craving. My wife and her friend went tonight and had a terrible experience. They only ever got apps and drinks, and had to remind the server for both. An hour and a half after ordering no sushi had arrived. When my wife's friend complained to the manager, he had a very dismissive attitude and said "this is the normal wait time". Bullshit. I would give a zero if I could. I'd never been here before, I was in town for training and thought I'd give it a try. My husband placed an order online and I picked up after work. The manager was at the desk and didn't say hi, welcome..nothing. He looked me up and down, so rude. I was exhausted from work training and I didn't think to ask for soy sauce, so we threw out 4 packs of white rice. Blah. Worst customer experience ever. I would never give this place my money again. Plus it had just snowed, and they didn't even shovel a walkway into the restaurant, so I fell up to my knees walking back to my vehicle with more then $50. worth of food. So this is an update to this review.. it has now become a regular place for me. I know I can eat here and never get sick and the extensiveness of the menu still astounds me. Where else can I get sauced and breaded gluten free amazingness? This place has officially won my heart. Nom! First of all let me start by complementing them on the most extensive gluten free menu I've seen since I've been eating gluten free. There is literally a massive page with tons of things you can have. Our server was also very knowledgeable about gluten free and really helpful with finding out any questions I had for me from the kitchen. The environment is nice and its in a convenient part of downtown in the newer part of the haymarket. Its right next to the parking garage which was convenient considering how cold it was that night. We were here for a birthday party and I enjoyed the salad with ginger carrot dressing which was great and the only one that is gluten free. I then decided to go against my usual sushi order and had the chicken with peanut sauce, sauces are something I have to be so weary of anymore so I was excited to see it on their gluten free menu. It was really good, I'd definitely have it again. My avocado roll and gluten free soy sauce was also nice. My friends were pretty satisfied with their meals as well and a few had some mixed drinks which they said were good. Overall, cost was pretty affordable so I'll be heading back there again sometime soon. I recommend giving it a try, and if your gluten free in Lincoln..its a must! read more

My son selected this for his 12th birthday, the food was so awful we had to throw it away. I called and messaged the restaurant and was told that they served $10,000 worth of food that day and I was the only complaint, so my food must not have been bad. They asked me to dig the food out of the trash and take pictures. After this the local owner, that is in charge and makes decisions, didn't want to talk to me to hear my concerns. I understand flukes happen with food, had that been the only issue we would have been back. My son picked it because it is usually delicious but because of how I was treated, like I'm lying and my concerns are not important enough to be heard, I will not return. EXCELLENT SUSHI! Very fresh and tasteful. I've heard nothing but great things about this place but never got around to visiting it. The atmosphere was great and very lively. I decided to go with the Crab Rangoons, West Coast Roll, and Sesame Chicken. The rolls were some of the best and fresh sushi I've ever had. The Crab Rangoons were the best I've had. From the crispness to the freshness of the Crab and cream cheese. The sesame chicken was excellent (really large portion) but filling none the less. I decided to wash my food down with an Old Fashion. It was flavorful but nothing spectacular. Others at my table went with more unique drinks (Pink Elephant and Make It Rain) which were GREAT! Hiro 88 is my go-to place for sushi here in Lincoln, NE. Before Hiro 88 came to Lincoln, my friends and I would drive to Omaha, NE whenever we were craving sushi. So glad we do not have to drive that far anymore! This review is based on my experience tonight. The service was very good for being how busy it was (since on Sundays it is all day happy hour). My water glass was never empty and our server was very attentive to our table. Our food did take awhile to come out, but our server came to our table to apologize for the wait so that it did not seem like we were forgotten. I really like the atmosphere of the place, except for the fact that the tables are situated pretty close together and you can sometimes hear the conversation that the table right next to you is having. They also have outdoor seating for nicer days which I also like. The food was very tasty, we ordered the spicy garlic edamame, the las vegas, unagi, and spicy salmon rolls which are all on the happy hour menu. For the entrees, we ordered the mongolian chicken and the crispy garlic beef that came with rice and either a soup or salad. I prefer the salad with the sesame dressing over the sweet and sour soup. Prices for the entrees are a bit on the high end, but we had a Groupon so that helped with the bill. The happy hour items are fairly priced, and the happy hour menu is extensive so you have a great selection to choose from. Overall, great experience! read more

Tasted like gas station sushi, zero flavor. Teriyaki chicken was very very bland. Wasn't worth the 90 bucks for me and my wife and our 2 year old. We didn't even order drinks and it was $90 for basically 2 people. Crab ragoons were the smallest I have ever had and were almost 8 bucks. Pork buns weren't really traditional at all and didn't have much taste. All of our sushi rolls had zero flavor and we got kind of sketched out about how warm the fish was... like it wasn't sitting on ice for a while... So no I do not recommend. read more

This was my first visit to the Hiro 88 in Lincoln. There is a next door parking structure that allows 1 hour free parking I would suggest compared to finding street availability. Once inside, the view is of the Hay Market shops. We were seated quickly and orders were taken right away. The food was very good and water was refilled without request.
