Excellent place for Sushi! Perfect spot for a Saturday! The bartender was very patient and kind!

Quite enjoyed my meal at Hiro. We didn't have reservations but we got in pretty much right away on a Monday night before Christmas which was great. My drink was very tasty and the edamame is always good. We got some gyoza too for an app and it was perfect to split between two people. It did take a rather long time to get our sushi (I fear they may have forgotten about us) but I got a west coast roll and a Columbia river roll and both tasted great!

Went for Lunch on a Saturday, parked on the street. Large Japanese restaurant, excellent service, lots of sushi selections and lunch options. Clean restaurant lots of seating. The food was pretty good for Japanese fare in the midwest. I enjoyed my lunch teishoku with teri salmon and tempura, generous portions.

Always a good time at Hiro!! Beautiful restaurant with amazing sushi. They're in a good location of down town with a cute outdoor patio. They also have a great happy hour menu!! I've never had a bad sushi roll here. The edamame was delicious as always. The cocktails were sweet and strong. Would highly recommend for sushi in Omaha

New spicy Brussels on the menu and they're delish!

Hiro is a pretty safe bet for your sushi craving fulfillment. Our favorites are the salmon asparagus, sweet chili crab, spicy Brussels, and their house salad. Their staff is usually pretty helpful and able to answer Qs and make recommendations, and the space is versatile enough to handle your quick business lunch, date night, girls night crew, or even a party!

    Spicy Brussels Sprouts - BOOM!

The food was on point! Excellent service, very reasonable price. The spicy brussels sprouts were amazing, the sashimi was perfect, and there was some two in one thing that was also very, very good. Louie doubled as our bartender and waiter and did an excellent job recommending some great dishes.

10/10 as always! This was my first time at the Jackson St location and it did not disappoint. Came around 4:40 on Friday. I got the Chicken Satay, sorry my is empty I forgot to take a pic before but it was AMAZING!!

I went with my girlfriend for our anniversary. The waitress was kind to us and accommodated our needs. My gf and I merely felt the menu was a bit underwhelming, compared to a few years ago when we last went. The salmon was good, along with the cheesecake that was sweet. The pork buns compared to some of the other spots we've been at didn't quite hit the mark for us, personally. We recommend maybe sticking with the sushi menu, and pairing it with the caramel cheesecake. The ambiance was alright, with low volume pop music. We walked here in the winter, though we did notice there was only street parking with some metered.

We went for happy hour and got a couple of sushi rolls and appetizers. Crab Rangoon, spicy edamame and fried dumplings. Our server was attentive. The restaurant had a recent renovation inside, nothing mayor, before you were able to see when cookers were preparing the sushi, now there is a glass to covering. I am not sure if I a like what they did or not, I feel it doesn't look as open as it used to

Food was good, but nothing impressive. The fried rice was the best out of all the things we ordered; it was on point and felt fresh. We also ordered salmon as an entree, but wasn't too tasty and was very simple. The sushi's weren't as good, specially the salmon one; the hiro crunch roll surprised me and was way better than the other one. Service was really good and the ambiance of the place is perfect for a dinner night.

Their reverse happy hour menu has so many great rolls on it. I've never had a roll here I didn't like. It's not the most upscale sushi, but I love it. The service is always fine at this location. They don't check in a lot, but I don't really mind that. The Bloody Mary also comes with a crab rangoon which is really cute.

We had a great time at Hiro 88. We went at around 8:45pm on Sunday evening. All day happy hour on Sundays. Large selection of apps and sushi. Started with the Korean short ribs which were fantastic will order every time we go moving forward. Ate them too fast to get a picture unfortunately. My wife got a cosmo that she said was very good. We had 5 different sushi rolls we enjoyed them all. With happy hour pricing got outta there for right at $50 before tip. Great deal on Sunday. The service was very friendly and attentive.

    Sweet potato fries.

Stopped by on Sunday after the wait at Blue was too long. It was busy, but we got seated right away, and I liked the seating, packed but not squished together like how you feel at Blue. The sweet potato fries were different than expected but good. Service was slow about 45 minutes for food but it was a busy night. The sushi was great! I didn't love the Hawaiian poke, but the west coast roll and Hiro special were delicious. My mojito mix-up was disappointing. I ordered a classic mojito and got a mango one and didn't see the waitress for a while, but my boyfriend loved it, so we swapped, his cucumber-tini was amazing. Bonus all-day happy hour on Sundays! Overall not a bad experience.

(although I think the fish is cured to retain freshness) We ordered a couple rolls, but mostly stuck to the nigiri. The Hama toast, prairie tuna, and yaki gindara were all ono. The yaki gindara tasted like butterfish sushi, but with sablefish rather than black cod. Also, the rice used for the sushi tasted similar to the rice used in sushi in Hawaii. We also tried some of the yakitori - grilled meat on sticks. I strongly recommend the tako yakitori. I'm not really into tako poke (Hawaii dish), but this tako with that miso panca sauce is super ono. Full of flavor with a touch of spicy. I could eat that all the time. The five-spice old fashioned they have is also delicious. Service was excellent for us. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself has a/c and gives an izakaya vibe familiar in Hawaii. Also, I saw people come in with t-shirt and shorts for dinner. So I guess there isn't really a dress code here. As others have mentioned, Koji is a sister restaurant to Yoshitomo, and the menus of both restaurants do overlap to a degree. However, Koji has MUCH better parking than Yoshitomo. Trying to find parking for Yoshitomo or Ota can be a pain since it's all street parking. Koji is in a strip mall with its own parking lot (free parking too). I will definitely return here whenever I'm in Omaha.

My partner and I walked in looking forward to everything, once we had been sat down by the hostess we were ignored by our waitress Cheyenne. She didn't greet us for almost 10 minutes and our hostess even got us our waters and apologized for the time she had been taking so long. Once she got our order moments afterwards another 10-15 minutes go by until we got our delicious food (served yet again by our hostess and not the waitress.) but during that time our waitress was happily serving the other guests and got their drinks before us. While we were eating our food, I noticed she didn't bother to stop by our table to see how we were doing or ask about our food. She went to the other tables she had and asked them, got them refills and other things they have mentioned. I tried to make eye contact but she would ignore my eyes when we locked, even eyeballed our table and still didn't talk to us. Towards the end I noticed the hostess and our waitress talking and looking at us (assuming the hostess said something to her about us being finished with our food.) She then came to our table saying "I see you guys are full, here are your double deep fried Oreos" and passes off the check. When we gave her the card to pay for she then realized she had forgotten our drinks. which I do appreciate she comped our appetizer, gave us a discount and then made my drink (not her but yet again the hostess.) Did not appreciate the baby talk when she was talking though saying "I am so sowy" and etc. I don't know if this was intentional or not but this was an upsetting experience.

A few things to know before you go: reservations are required and the process is a little more involved than usual since you fill out a form and wait to hear back, so plan ahead. Also, since they seat a full table at a time, your actual seating may be a bit later than your reservation time. Worth checking their website, Facebook, or Instagram before you go too as they occasionally post coupons. Just make sure to mention it to your server before they ring you up. For food, the salmon and shrimp were the highlights for us. Shrimp comes as a starter for the table, but I ordered extra as part of my combo and it was worth it. The steak was fine, but not the standout in steakhouse country. Fried rice is an extra $4, which is reasonable given how good it is. Kids meals at $12 are a solid deal since they come with soup, salad, and rice. The spicy mustard dipping sauce and their spiciest sauce were both great. Our cook was friendly and engaging without overdoing it, which is the right call for teppanyaki. Prices were fair overall and the location is a bonus since Fat Brain Toys is right next door if you want to browse before or after with kids.
