Jenifer is so amazing and she has the most delicious frozen treats. I got the raspberry plum basil pop and the ice cream sandwiches are all gluten free, dairy free, and Organic. She also has beautiful jewelry and artisan gifts and one of a kind local items.

Staff: The lady was so very nice. My favorite thing about my visit is the payment kiosk didn't have the VERY frustrating guilt tip question. The device merely asked for payment which made me so very happy. Quality/Quantity: They had a bunch of clothes, jewelry, and various ice cream options. The ice cream sandwiches were a high quality with organic ingredients which again made me so happy. These babies were huge and packed with delicious ice cream inside of a delicious cookie. Value: Not bad at all. Overall: I really enjoyed the spot. Great ambiance, plenty of parking, a few tables to sit at, and good service. Pro Tip: Easy to miss as it looks like a pop up store so you wouldn't even know they sold ice cream if no one told you.

Very cute little kiosk that sells unique goods and yummy popsicles! We really loved the unique flavours and the owner was so nice. We tried root beer, lavender lemonade, vanilla chai and raspberry plum basil for the popsicle flavours. I appreciated that they had both dairy and non-dairy options and there were plenty of varieties of both. Our favourite was the root beer which had great flavour and a nice creamy center- like a root beer float on a stick! We had them on a sunny SoCal January day and will be back again!

If you're looking for a sweet treat that checks off all the boxes (delicious, vegan, gluten-free, artisanal), then look no further, HiveXO is the place. This quaint little shop looks like it could be found on a cobblestone corner in a European village - rather than off a busy street in OC. Let's get down to brass tacks : I was lead here by my sweet tooth and I was overjoyed to discover that they have all kinds of treats for those with dietary restrictions. I got the "special" shortbread cookies ice cream sandwich (with coconut milk ice cream). And it WAS special ! Enormous in size, a true marvel of design, topped with frozen strawberries; it was so delicious. I *might* already have plans to return tomorrow...

The best gluten free/dairy free ice cream treats! The ice cream sandwiches are still Very rich for me so I usually split with someone! Took my Dad here and he loved it!

This is a cute hidden gem full of delicious treats! My sister told me about this spot while visiting California, she said it had the most delicious vegan ice cream sandwiches that are homemade. We stopped by and I knew I was in for a treat! The ice cream is delicious, they have many flavors to choose from. The cookies are soft and have the perfect amount of salt. They sell handmade items and the owners are very friendly. If I lived near by I would frequent this spot!

Located across from the Ritz and next to the Salt Creek parking lot, sits this adorable snack bar & boutique that used to be a flower stand a couple years back. Not only do they have really cute merchandise (jewelry, candles, bags, stationary, etc.) but they also serve up some unique flavored Popsicles...a perfect treat for a hot day by the beach. I bought six and have tried three so far (the mango pineapple will be hard to beat, even though the root beer and cookies and creme were pretty darn tasty). read more

I love this place! It's a great escape from the St. Regis and Ritz Carlton, just a quick walk from both hotels. I've been to The Hive twice now on my vacation and the staff is always very friendly. They make you comfortable, are knowledgeable, and are just genuinely happy you're there. The ice cream sandwich is amaaaaaazing. I can still taste the coconut ice cream, chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, and chewy texture. Take me back!!! read more

Delicious strawberry shortcake flavor! I think it's seasonal but it was so refreshing after spending some time near the beach. My partner had orderd the lavendar lemonade popsicle and it was a great balance - not like eating flowers and not too acidic. Definitely will come back for more. read more

Super fresh and organic popsicles and ice cream sandwiches. We devoured the plum basil, pineapple mango, lavender lemonade popsicles and some strawberry shortcake ice cream sandwich...and they were all delish! Definitely recommend...cute and small boutique. If you are wanting a delicious, clean, delightful and delicious treat, look no farther than HiveXO!! LITERALLY 100% ORGANIC popsicles and ice cream sandwiches, handmade by the owner and proprietor. The absolute best ice cream sandwich that I have ever had--and it's vegan and GF! The cookies were crisp, the ice cream was mint chocolate chip, just outstanding in every way. I can't praise this place highly enough. They also have juice, coffee, lovely jewelry and gifty things. It's just a delight! Parking is pretty easy, but you can also easily park in the county beach parking lot and then walk your delicious treat down to Salt Creek Beach (if it lasts that long--probably you'll have eaten it by halfway down the drive). AMAZING!! We tried the cowboy cookie with vanilla ice cream sandwich and it was absolutely delicious! My first time, and I'll forever crave it. My toddler had just been stung by a naughty cactus hidden in the sand on the beach and wanted to just go home. That didn't stop my sister and I from quickly grabbing a couple of yummies to go. It was on the way home, ok. Plus, we were heading back to Texas soon, and it was our last chance. We ordered the Coconut Bliss ice cream sandwiches, one plain and one with dark chocolate. They were downright worth every sweet bite. I loved them both. They're good sized treats. I wish I had taken a picture of one compared to my face. Pretty close to that big. At least that's what it felt like while eating them. They really satisfied without being overly much. After a few swaps back and forth, I decided I liked the plain one better because the cookies already have giant chunks of dark chocolate in them, but my sister preferred the chocolate on chocolate. Please support this place and the Coconut Bliss ice cream sandwiches. I'll be back next year and hope to get some more. read more

Love this place. Yes I drive from San Diego out to this cute little shop for ice cream. They have a good variety of popsicles too. They also sell other things besides ice cream and popsicles like bracelets, clothes, and other cute items. But my heart is in those vegan ice cream sandwiches. They're the perfect size, not too little and not too much. But the cookies are soft and rich in flavor. Depending what kind of ice cream you get with them, well they're all delicious. My go to definitely for the vegan ice cream sandwiches especially cause they're hard to find! read more

This little hut is the perfect place to stop on a hot day or if you're just craving something sweet. My grandmother had the sea salt caramel pop and I had the dark chocolate covered espresso cheesecake. I also ordered their cold brew coffee and now I'm hooked! Five stars! Only word of advice, let your cheesecake thaw out a little. It was quite difficult to eat. read more

My family and I love this place. The watermelon popsicle has to be our favorite but they are ALL soOoO good. We live on the other side of the Ortega hwy so whenever we are nearby, going here is a MUST. What impressed me about the Italian ice was that the mango flavor was well integrated into the ice, it didn't taste like ice with a bunch of overly sugary syrup thrown in. After a few bites, I mixed everything together and that combination was just as enjoyable. The location is also great. It's right on Golden Lantern and just a short walk from Dana Point Harbor, making it an easy stop before or after a stroll around the Wharf or waterfront area. On a sunny day, it's pretty much the ideal beach treat. Can't wait to return and try more flavors!

So we decided to just buy one raspberry cupcake. I had it for breakfast in the morning. It was super delicious. It was a very satisfying chocolate cupcake with a raspberry cream on top covered in fine chocolate. I regretted that we discovered it the night just before we departed. Also, our hotel was just crossing the street from this shop. We stayed at the hotel for four days and three nights. All in all, the pastries and the service quality were truly exceptional. I remember my husband spelling out my name like the military nato style too but what was written on the order form was wrong. And then on the cake was wrong and didn't even match the order form. I know my name is difficult but I guess the decorator wasn't there so it was a difficult fix. They apologized and gave us candles. On a side note and not affecting this rating: We ate at the cafe side once and it was good. But we sat outside and had a bad experience unrelated to the cafe. Someone with their huge hairy dog was just outside the cafe and rubbing their long hair dog getting it into the air and the wind was blowing it all over our food and drinks and also in the nearby tables. Definitely killed the appetite. This is not affecting the rating. Rating is based solely on the cakes.

It is now in the top of our list of places to go. The kids cheeseburger is good size and not a smaller version as some places do. The chicken tenders were panko crusted which was so crunchy. After riding our beach cruisers up the long steep hill from Salt Creek beach we couldn't wait to share an ice cream sandwich at The Hive. Laura was a delight to talk to as we rested in her bar chairs and sunk our teeth into the most delicious (and healthy) ice cream sandwich with coconut milk, chocolate ice cream between two chocolate chip, oatmeal and peanut butter, gluten-free cookies! Also, we tried the root beer float popsicle - mmmhmmh and bought a couple gift items for friends. I can't believe so many cool gift items are in such a cute, little, vine covered cottage!
