I called his shop around 5:45pm to see if he can make an exception to wait for me because I had just gotten off of work and was in need of a flower box for my cousin that recently had surgery. A friend's husband passed away and I needed to find local florist to deliver flowers. I'm a member of Flowers.com (through my Harry & David acct) but I despise boxed flowers. So gross and you have to arrange them yourself. It was SUPER easy to order via Yelp to the florist website (4 screens tops) and I really like the ordering menu. It's probably the best local florist website I've seen. This is the arrangement I picked. Great price and delivery was $9.99. I hope the flowers have this exact pink/peach colored flower. I'm very glad for service available during Covid and also for same day delivery. I hope my friend takes a pic of the arrangement so I can compare to the photo. I'd received a stunning arrangement from HK last year, so when I was in need of some flowers for a corporate retirement party, I thought I'd hire HK instead of Mark's Flowers or one of the larger florists in the area. Attempting to order on their website was impossible as it stated they didn't deliver to Woodland Hills (where they are based), so I called them for help. After a few calls, I heard back. I was told the website freezes/doesn't work sometimes, OK fine, let's order flowers. I spoke with both Marsha and Ruby and they were both very straight to the point, maybe even a little curt, which was fine since I was ordering for a work event and I just needed to place an order. However, if it was a personal order, I would hope I'd get a little more fluff/enthusiasm/guidance when ordering flowers for something special. After all, flowers are supposed to be fun, right? Anyway. that was my first impression/customer experience. I had placed the order 2 weeks in advance and the day of (which is always hectic) I get a call from them asking me to arrange for an early delivery (4 pm) to the venue as their driver's shift ended early. I made that arrangement for them, however the driver did not get to the venue until 5:15 for a 5:30 event start. On top of their tardiness, the flowers were carelessly arranged and vaguely resembled what was advertised on their website. The colors were similar but they were a bunch of flowers strewn in a round vase w water - not quite arrangements. They were big and bulky and our dinner guests ended up removing them from their tables because they were cumbersome. In the end, it wasn't a good experience. My ordering experience, delivery, finished product were all below expectation and I would not recommend HK to friends. read more
