I found a better rate so I canceled my policy but six days prior I had paid my $316 premium. These unscrupulous bunch of thieves gave me a $61.00 refund and when I called to find out if there was a mistake I was rudely informed that there is a penalty for canceling a policy. so I'm out over $200? This should be a crime -very bad dipped in wrong sauce. Don't do business with these self serving criminals. There are much better companies and you won't get penalized to cancel a policy if you find a better rate. The core value of any business is integrity you will not find that here. read more

I am SOOOOO glad that I responded to the ad. My experience has been nothing but great. Glenn's team has always been friendly, quick to respond and knowledgable. They have always had my best interest in mind. HMBD has helped me with some insurance challenges without going through all the 1-800 messes. They are a big time broker, with a small time personal feel. They don't charge broker fees, or new policy fees etc. etc, like many companies do today. I am alway shock when I hear of such fees. Glenn Agoncillo and Edith Muniz-Ruiz have completely changed my view of the insurance industry. I explained what we wanted and Glen came back with a plan for our home and auto that was superior to what we asked for yet below what we were paying in the past. I did not tell him what are old rates were. He found the best coverage at the best price. Things were a little tricky in switching over our insurance because we have an impound account. On December 22nd, I realize our auto insurance has expired. Immediately I reach out to my broker for years. He gives me a couple of quotes that are outrageous, super high cost at only liability coverage! He tells me no one offers higher coverage. Seriously?!? I wasn't content so I called a couple other agency's whom basically offered the same. Absolutely not in my best interest as I'm looking to cover my company vehicles & two other personal cars. I came across HMBD, whom sounded pretty busy when I called in but understandable since it was 2 days before Christmas. I left a voice mail letting them know my interest. Shortly after, I received a call from Sandra Cortez the personal lines account manager. She broke it down to 3 diff quotes with great coverage! I signed on two policies, a commercial & personal with the total premium I was previously paying at liability cost. SHOCKING!! I wanted it cheaper with less coverage but she explained the risks to me and scared the cheap out of me. Not only did she make the search so easy but she had my policies in full effect with insurance cards and all by 4pm!! Sandra Cortez was my agent. I changed my policy to another company because Sandra could not cancel a policy that I emailed and called in. She tried to double my premium because I had another driver in the house who has another vehicle with another policy. I told her not to include him on my vehicle in which she waited several days to send me a form to sign to exclude that driver. It's been almost a month, a few days of a month and she still couldn't fix my policy and tell me my refund. I feel like she is banking on her commission so I don't get a refund. So today I sign up with a new company and cancel my policy through her and she tells me it will cancel on a future date. Excuse me I do not need two policies nor will I pay for both. And btw I don't want to do business with you any longer because you can't even do the simplest task and I've given you a month to get this done and you have done nothing. Glad that I changed to a new company and I am getting a tremendous deal. Saving me over $300/month. I should've left your company a long time ago. read more

My experience with HMBD insurance has been great! I got transferred to their center while I was shopping for car insurance. I was getting quotes from other companies so I dealt with a lot of different agents,but the one person who stood out to me was Jason Roddy. He was extremely friendly, patient, knowledgeable and very considerate. Mind you this is my first time shopping for car insurance on my own after being on my dads policy for years! I obviously had a lot of questions and didn't know what to look for with auto insurance or what I do/ do not need. Jason dealt with MANY of my phone calls, even when he was out sick he emailed me after I had yet again called his office. The patience he had on explaining things me to and helping me pick out the best coverage was phenomenal. He helped me save so much money after my current insurance wanted to charge me a lot more for a small accident I had in the beginning of the year. Jason worked with me for days and we finally signed papers for my new insurance today. I am beyond thrilled on working with him. Not only is Jason great but his colleagues are as well. TRUST ME: I went to a lot of different companies and no one was as helpful and nice as the people working here! I was referred to this brokerage firm while shopping for car insurance for myself and my brother. In the 6 months since I've worked with this company I can honestly say that I'm constantly amazed at the complete lack of tact or customer service the group I've been working with has employed to handle even the simplest of requests. Emails are very quick when you first are signing up but God help you after you become a customer. Worst experience of my life. I was referred to Scott Henderson who passed me off to Sandra Cortez and when I tried to escalate a complaint I had the honor of speaking to Roger Osegueda. They're great while you're shopping for insurance - sorta despite many phone and email conversations with Sandra she still wrote the policy wrong and had to later bump up coverage and rates - but once they have you they couldn't care less to keep you. Our company worked with Jay Semaan and Karen Hoang for years. They have always made themselves readily available and have gone out of their way to help us with any issue that arose. More specifically, we had a nightmare case with billing after my second sons birth. It ended up lasting almost two years to resolve the issue. Throughout the entire process Karen Hoang made her self readily available and fought for us to get everything figured out. The amount of time Karen and I spent trying to get everything figured out was pain staking to say the least. But she was nothing but helpful throughout the entire process and I am almost certain our issue would not have been resolved without her help. In the end her efforts ended up saving my family a lot of money; that after almost two years I was growing resolved to the fact we would have to pay.
