Called Chris at 7:30 in the morning panicking over my clogged kitchen sink and that mg guests would be arriving to my house for an event and have to see the mess. Chris had Re-routed his guys to make a stop at my house on their way to a scheduled job. They were in and out in 30 min. Problem solved. Sink worked and I wasn't overcharged or asked for extra for the last minute request. Chris texted me after the job was complete. Payment was easy. Our Family's Story About One Little Hot Water Leak in El Cerrito. I noticed in Sept. 2021. In our backyard outside of our master bathroom wall are two planters. A 4 foot wide landing between the two, made with pavers which lead to our outside water faucets. Underneath the pavers I began to notice the soil had more moister then usual. Oh I gave it a lot of thought over the next few months, trying to make good sense of it all and I reacted with doing a few different things, but no, these ideas didn't help. Let's move into the night of the 4th of Nov. (I'm bear foot)walked into my closet (tile floor) and floor is unusually warm, honey honey check this out, (I'm talking to my wife) she said, Yes it is warm. O'my a Hot water leak under the slab. That very night we Texted a message to HMS Plumbing and Construction. They returned a Text a short time later, saying they can have one of their technicians (Jose) show up in a few hours. We thanked the owners (Megan) and said no, we turned off the water valve out front and the water heater, it's getting late. (Megan) said tomorrow morning is available to do an inspection. Yes we would like that appointment. * Nov 5th 2021 - 7:30am using a special meter (Jose) found the leak. We authorized permission to open the wall where the leak was detected. In 1 1/2 hours he sealed the leak that was coming from a hot water line from the guest bathroom. Water off - water on; and the water heater back on; leak is all fixed. Jose say someone will be calling us up later today to discuss any further assistance we may need and that he will return The next day to close the wall back up and re-paint. * We received a phone call from the owner, (Megan) and decided that since this had happened once before 12 years earlier we wanted to set an appointment to re-pipe all the hot and cold water in the house. Megan let's us know they will have (Jose) there on Monday the 8th. * Nov. 8th - We received a call that (Jose) is in route. Start before 8am. Technicians Jose, Silas, and Tommy show up and put in a 10 to 11 hour day. Opened three precise Location indoors and two in the backyard. Ran new hoses to all water locations in the house, hot and cold. * Nov 9th - Start at 8am. "Second work day" with two men. Jose and Silas finished running all water line's with all new connections all locations in the house. Washing Machines, Kitchen Sink, Refrigerator, Guest Bathroom, Master Bathroom. That part is now all done. * Note : during the past two days we had hot and cold water ALL DAY, and never had to leave the house. * Nov10th - Third day, Jose and Silas worked on reinstalling dry wall that was opened up for the re-pipe. Also, there was two other Technicians (Manuel and Tino) who did the re-stucco on the outside walls in the back yard. Let's let the walls dry and returned for repainting. * Nov 11th - Fourth day, Jose and Silas repainted with (our) paint, all walls that they opened up. All the work inside the house is Finished. * Nov 13th - Manuel and Tino, show up to repaint the Stucco that they had patched up a few days earlier. We had a bathroom remodeled by HMS Plumbing a year and a half ago. However, the tile has cracked from on end of the outside shower to the other side. I called Christ 4 weeks to have someone to come out and look. I call Jose a week ago and he said he would come out that afternoon, I'm still waiting. Poor communication. Called them and was given a window 1-2 hours and instead tech showed up 30min later, I know this bc neighbor called me to tell me they were waking around. No phone call or anything. I called plumber to follow up and they told me tech will be there in about an hour but I told them that I believe I missed them and they told me they would call me back to find out if I indeed did miss them. No call back instead I followed up with a message asking if I did miss them only to get an reply with "yes you did" that was it. I responded with are they coming back? Response was "not today". They came to fix my laundry room faucet cause they were leaking. they removed the old faucet and replaced with new faucet. then they replaced a section of drywall and put new paint and texture. it looks brand new. i mean they arrived on time in a professional looking van and uniform and had pretty cool tools and did the job so I would definitely use them again. Our shower valve seized up and broke leaving the shower running and forced me to shut off our water to the house. I attempted to change an angle stop valve in one of my bathrooms because it was dripping water and setting off my water leak sensor but ran into some issues. I thought it would be an easy fix but had difficulty removing the compression ring (ferrule). I tried using a compressing ring puller tool but was unsuccessful. At this point, I tried putting the angle stop valve back but I messed up the PEX pipe and couldn't screw the angle stop valve back and we were without water since I shut off the main water valve. I called HMS Plumbing this past Sunday evening. I spoke to Chris and explained my problem. He answered a lot of my questions and gave me a price on how much it would cost to replace the angle stop valve. He said he could get someone out in the morning which I agreed. He asked me to send him pictures of what I was working on. Very nice guy to talk to and very knowledgeable. The following morning, Jose arrived (on time). He introduced himself (he was wearing a mask) and I told him about my problem and showed him which bathroom I needed a new angle stop valve. Jose was very knowledgeable and answered many of my questions. He was successful in installing a new angle stop valve in my bathroom. It was not an easy install for him because of what I did to the PEX pipe. He was successful in removing the compression ring and needed to cut the PEX pipe because of what I did. After finishing the install of the new angle stop valve, he made sure to leave everything clean. After installing the new angle stop valve, my Wife brought up our leaking backyard spigot problem. I asked Jose how much it would cost to replace the spigot. I didn't know if he had time to install a new spigot so I asked and he said it shouldn't take that long so we agreed. We now have a brand new outdoor non-leaking spigot all thanks to Jose. Overall, I were very impressed with HMS Plumbing. They pricing is very reasonable. They do great work. I will definitely be calling them if I have any plumbing issues in the future. read more

I have used HMS several times over the years and have always gotten great service. Usually, it has been a bit of an emergent situation and Chris or Jose would manage to get right over and solve the immediate problem. I called them yesterday because I suspected a slab leak. Jose came over pretty quickly and figured out where the leak was coming from and shut that part of the water off. They came back today and finished the job faster than I thought they'd be able to. They are always friendly, efficient and clean up. My dog loves them as well. LOL. I always recommend HMS to people in my community because of the great service. I kept this review I'm my drafts hoping to give them multiple chances and they did not deliver. they serviced me on October 10th and it's now the 26th. I am in need of significant repairs that I know will cost a lot, but I guess they don't want my money. I have texted and called more than 4 times and also emailed, because I need a quote for them to potentially do the big repair that I need. The one time Chris answered, he said he would check back with his tech and that was over 5 days ago. I initially decided to call them based on rave reviews on Yelp and on Facebook...and I'm always trying to support local business. They were initially very responsive and the tech they sent out was great, but there was a miscommunication on how much the service would cost. They quoted me one price then I got an invoice for double. For them to run a camera down your drain will cost you so make sure you know that. Chris was nice enough to offer a solution that we both agreed upon but basically ghosted me after I paid. Despite the mixup I was interesting in using them in the future potentially. I need more plumbing work done based off of their assessment but then he stopped responding to texts where I was asking for a quote. I guess he is the only person who can give quotes. And they were on my street working on some other house so they know how to respond to customers I guess just certain ones. I'd give 1 star but Jose was so nice when he came out. read more

Chris and his guys are outstanding! We initially called him out because he was the only A/C guy who would give us a free estimate on fixing the unit at the house we were buying. He could've told us the whole unit needed to be replaced and we would've paid the $2700 for a new one. Instead, he told us he could probably get it running for around a tenth of that cost, and let us squeak another few months or years out of the old thing. How's that for honesty? He and one of his guys even worked on Father's Day to make sure we had A/C before the 115-degree heat hit. Now we're also using Chris for our bathroom remodel, and it looks fantastic. He even had us pick up a gallon of our chosen paint color so his guy Jose could paint the whole bathroom for us when it was done, because Chris wanted us to have a completely finished room. Called HMS on a Sat morning with a blocked main line. Chris got a guy out in a couple hrs, ran a 75' snake, no luck. Came back a couple hrs later with a 100' version and cleared the blockage.
